Today I received written notice that an allegation of 'BLACKMAIL' has been recorded by Devon & Cornwall Police Authority AGAINST Devon & Cornwall Constabulay Chief Officer Group, following details being passed to the Police Authority by the IPCC (Independent Police Complaints Commission).

Written details were also sent to Her Majesties Inspectorate of Constabularies & The UK Human Rights Commission.

I'm a bisexual goth and I used to live in Weston-super-Mare where people would actually stop in the street to gawp at me. My friends and I were regularly victims of verbal homophobic abuse.

I moved to Falmouth a few months ago. It seems so friendly and tolerant here. No one appears to care about the way I dress or who I'm holding hands with so I was very shocked at this video. I'll certainly look at your blog.

Two of the suicides were in Falmouth and made National British & LGBT newspapers, a third just outside of Falmouth towards the town of Redruth.

Just don't wander around the 'Beacon' area of Falmouth, they are liable to lynch you up there just for not being from Falmouth, let alone a goth or Bi!

My first true love and ex partner of 6 years killed himself on December 19th, 2008On December 18th, 2008, at the age of 47. He had a high-profile conservative career and an over-bearing religious family that bordered on fanatical. The double and triple lives he chose to live caught up with him. What better way to shut up, isolate & ostracise gay people with complaints than to control groups 'said' to be set up to support gay people.

The Western Morning news item regarding the Freedom of Information regarding the 1,200+ complaints did not say how many individuuals...only that almost 25% of the complaints were unfinalised (ignored/buried)

The Celtic league (Cornish nationalists) do not have a good word about police since Tony Leamon, an activist abused by Cornwall police last year.

This is merely the tip of the iceberg of hidden homophobic abuses carried out by the authorities in Cornwall.

Unfortunately gay groups are controlled by the police in Cornwall and gay people who have been abused by police and speak out are excluded from LGBT PACT, INTERCOM TRUST & even the local Pride group.

Here in the US there are two approaches that are taken in situations such as yours. A protest march is organized bringing gay and straight supporters together along with people from outside the community. And an effort is made to appeal to a higher authority. In our case this would be the US Attorney General. This is what broke the back of institutionalized racial discrimination in the south back in the sixties.

unfortunately nearly all the local gay groups in Cornwall are run by the police. Myself and others with experience of Police homophobic abuse are NOT WELCOME by the 'INTERCOM TRUST', Cornwall LGBT PACT or the PRIDE group.

I personally gave last year, five hours of witness evidence to the UK Governments Human Rights Enquiry, most of it regarding homophobic abusive practises of the Police & County Council in Cornwall.

Those gays who speak out are targeted & isolated by the 'Intercom Trust'

I work with suicidal youth and too many of our police, and politicians either don't care or they are just plain evil. Some of them claim to be Christians but they don't care because gay is sin, a choice, and evil in their eyes.

Cornwall police need to take a leaf out of the Liverpool LGBT police force, the Gay Comminuity is in safe hands and we feel very safe with such strong team that looks after us.
