    was hard for me at first too, seeing as we walk all the time, and when we walk its on our heels.

    Try jumping on your toes and doing it slowly, almost like walking.

  • @oIIJOSHIIoNe Depends on if you're an active sportsman, then you could run that without training. Otherwise i recommend running a bit longer distances ex. 3,4,5 miles. That way it's easier to pace yourself for a 1.5 mile run.

    Best way to know how far it is is to run on a track. The army will probably test you on a track.

  • @oIIJOSHIIoNe I use a site called Advanced Google Maps Distance Calculator where you can set some pinpoints and measure your local dirtroad. Hope that answers your q.

  • @oIIJOSHIIoNe Hey dude i wouldn't worry. I can run a mile in 5:55 on a normal day. I'm in 8th grade. 10 minutes is alot of time and 1mile is 4 laps around a track so 6 laps around a track is what you have to do in under 10 minutes.

  • My 13YO son has been having lessons on non-competitive exercise at school from a Govt. organisation- running, jumping, gym- all good stuff.

    However, one ‘weird’ guy came in & took them out on a run last month. Half way round, he stopped encouraging the backmarkers, came up from behind each runner screaming “Eat s**t & die, LOSER!!”, then ran out triumphantly in the ‘lead’, running further & further out into the distance. He didn’t return to the school & hasn’t been seen since…

  • In order to run well in this form, you got to have your calve muscles strong by doing hill work. Look at the Kenyans and you will see this running posture. Your chest has to stick out and that would automatically align your legs and arms. Without hill work, you will get tired and resort to your comfort posture.

  • @a6ubakr I think this vid provides important markers on how to maintain a hurt-free stride. Also check out the PoseTV channel, that dude's english is horrendous but the clips are still useful. Personally I'd say quit springing from your toes to propel yourself upward instead of forward (if you're doing that now). Once you land and build up kinetic energy in your tendons wait until you release it until your toes are behind your center of mass. Rinse and repeat

  • @jay89allday as a mediocre runner I make sure to let my legs rest after a day of running. Gotta let the muscles and tendons heal and get some of the good ol' intracellular energy replenishment and whatnot

  • @Runaholism sorry, I should have clarified. I know they are Nike running shoes. I haven't been able to find the model either. Not that I would want to wear it anyway as all nike's have too much heel, with the exception of the track and cross country spikes. I hate the air max system.

  • I followed and tried the heal to fore foot running and got nothing but injuries. Then, I started running the way I usually run, fore foot to heel, and no injuries and running became a joy. This video made made my running form better.  Thanks!

  • This stuff seems a bit whack and counter to all the stuff I've seen many ultra runners doing. The Raramuri (Tarahumara) spring to mind and the Masai and the Kalihari Bush men.
