@KidSnivy69 They really move very well, and this coreography was made to please the public, no matter what it is. That's why people get amaized for it. But ballroom samba is simpler than that. If u want to watch some i suggest: O Samba de Paola Oliveira - (there u will see some mandatory movements and still some improvises. Note the clothes, the beat and the rhythm differences. The samba dancer is like a rascal, that's the idea! because its compositors used to dress like this in the old 30's...

@mathguarizo Maracas and bongo drums are heard in Latin music, they was using them as props, it was ONLY used for 7 secs, Geez...Anyway, Rob/Cheryl used maracas, but no bongo drums in their Samba. The judges thought Rob/Cheryl's Samba was fantastic, they chose them to perform it again ( An encore). But, Um...if it bothers you that much, then you should also mention it on Rob & Cheryl's videos, too. So next time, when PROS choreographs a Samba..They would know NOT to use maracas in Samba. Peace!
@alewolf7 You're right, this isn't traditional Brazilian samba. But this the international (Americanized) samba, which has a more tropical than Brazilian feel to it. I like both versions though
DWTS presents styles of world competitions: cha-cha-cha, international samba, Rumba, Jive, Paso Doble, Viennese Waltz, English Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep and Tango. These dances were standardized and don’t fully respect the traditions of their original countries, but the Brazilian samba and the international one have the same origin: the Maxixe.
That samba is really different, but we Brazilians have to admit that it has beauty, class and elegance.
JR was so underscored by these judges on mnay of his dances. I guess because a lot of his routines were difficult and Karina managed to make them look so easy that the judges choose to focus on other things. I honestly felt he and Ricky were the best two dancers of this season and He had Ricky by miles when it came to confidence and actually knowing his routines. So much so, that it appeared Karina trusted him enough to let him do his own thing. Derek was always instructing Ricky.
I really think JR did amazing with this dance, seeing as so many of the male celebs have such trouble with the samba. Great bounce action and those hips *drool*
This was the first time I saw a celebrity perform Samba Rolls as well as this. Even Stacey Keibler with her excellent Samba in Season 2 did not perform the Samba Rolls. Very difficult move performed well. Congrats on their win.

In Season 9, Mya's Samba was excellent, her Samba Rolls was Amazing and maybe the longest ever done by a celebrity on dwts. I crown celebrities JR "King of Samba Rolls" and Mya "Queen of Samba Rolls"
@Davette7ify1: I never watched DWTS before and only watched JR's performances this season, because I liked him on "All My Children." I decided to check out Mya's samba rolls and timed them. Believe it or not, both of them did them for 9-10 seconds. I agree 100% with you that she and JR are "queen" and "king" of the samba rolls, However, I'm more impressed with JR's because, unlike Mya, he has absolutely no dance background.

J.R is my favorite dancer this season. Its just something about him like Hines and Kyle Massey. A great personality, charisma, versatility and a positive outlook on the contest!!!! Only J.R and Ricki deserve to battle it out at the finale for me right now!!!! Just amazing dancing!!!!
This the best dance I have seen in "Dancing with the stars" so far. It was amazing this is real SAMBA especially because they used "Conda" byGloria Estefan, an appropriate original theme of the real SAMBA music. I love it!!!! :)

Sorry, I wasn't saying he's ugly. He's a handsome, sexy man. What I mean about sexy is: It's something about him that excites and attracts another. It's not only the looks that might be of personal preference to the beholder but also the inner character. That is the tone of his voice, the manner of speaking, thoughts and demeanor, and the state of mind.
am not surprised Len didn't give them a 10. Can't complain, he's pretty fairly consistent regardless! thnx to Bruno's 10.I kinda expected a 10 from Carrie Ann. JR & Karina should have consistently topped the leaderboard . He's been underscored quite a few times. And JR, you have raised the bar high. IMO, you are the best this season.

These two are such a great team. JR takes everything Karina throws at him and still knocks it out the park! IMO this dance deserved all 10's. He and Karina were PERFECT! :D And I agree with what Len said about the Samba being a difficult dance for male celebs to do. I've seen them try to do it in past seasons, and it's pretty tough. The fact that J.R. is a gorgeous latino helps too! ;)

J.R is my favorite dancer this season. Its just something about him like Hines and Kyle Massey. A great personality, charisma, versatility and a positive outlook on the contest!!!! Only J.R and Ricki deserve to battle it out at the finale for me right now!!!! Just amazing dancing!!!!

This the best dance I have seen in "Dancing with the stars" so far. It was amazing this is real SAMBA especially because they used "Conda" byGloria Estefan, an appropriate original theme of the real SAMBA music. I love it!!!! :)

am not surprised Len didn't give them a 10. Can't complain, he's pretty fairly consistent regardless! thnx to Bruno's 10.I kinda expected a 10 from Carrie Ann. JR & Karina should have consistently topped the leaderboard . He's been underscored quite a few times. And JR, you have raised the bar high. IMO, you are the best this season.

These two are such a great team. JR takes everything Karina throws at him and still knocks it out the park! Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Karina is being tough with him because it's paying off for the both of them. And like she said, she knows he can handle it. That's the sign of a GREAT coach. IMO this dance deserved all 10's. He and Karina were PERFECT! :D And I agree with what Len said about the Samba being a difficult dance for male celebs to do. I've seen them try to do it in past seasons, and it's pretty tough. The fact that J.R. is a gorgeous latino helps too! ;)

It is a prejudiced against when, they will reject people's appearance, even if he is smart and has a good nature.
