I'm not sure I totally agree here. You might get a big house because you live in a wet climate and you want room inside for your kids to run around and have fun.

Talking of motivation, I just wanted to thank Ajahn Brahm for the dayly motivation he gives other people, myself included, by giving these Dhamma talks and in writing books. I regret that Australia is situated on the wrong side of the globe from my perspective, and that we do not have a Theravada Bhuddist temple or convent in Belgium, maybe some day?
This must be a sign from above, really. I have been depressed lately, not having any motivation to do anything at all. I was searching for a way to get motivated again. I am so greatful to Ajahn Brahm for all his talks and especially for this one.
The buddha's teaching is not just words, he taught through his actions. Actions such as eating, sleeping, teaching, begging for food... He set himself as a living example for others to follow.
getting stuff can be a reminder of your successes, not always to brag??
