Use 24" barrels for the .25-06, nothing less. Maybe more? Dunno, but not less. It's basically a .257 magnum rifle round. 3000 fps with 120gr bullet. It also doubles as a varmint round with smaller bullets. Much less kick than .30-06.
Nice caliber the 25-06, but I noticed is the second shooter lifts his head way too soon. Not that the bullet is still in the barrel, but one must learn to stay on target after the shot. I'd also recommend a quality attachable rubber butt plate to ensure proper length if necessary. I've also seen where shooters take off a boot to lay their rifle on, as not to scratch it and it raises it a bit. I'm using a Leupold scope that never ever misses.

I'm sorry but the 25-06 is one of the sweetest rounds ever invented, if not the most
versatile it's gotta be a close 2nd. I think if God hunted he might just chose this round, you boys might have to go down to a rimfire.

The bang and the shock-wave of a 25-06 is incredibly powerful. Even shooting it at a range makes people look.
