@Didgaraya Nikola was a very difficult man to describe, he once said that the idea of radiowaves came to him in a dream of his mother's death. He actually felt the exact moment his mother had passed away this brought him to wake up and he then knew that his mother was dead. This also brought him to beleive that his brain frequency is same as his mothers and that radiowaves must be of same frequency for the signal to be trasmitted. He was right.

I knew that he was spiritual and I'm actually very much open-minded in terms of things that cannot be explained by human physics (although actually quantum physics give often some most incredible results). @reddwarf50 Understanding electricity as dawn of new era is still difficult for me personally, an artist who seeks for human rather in his artistic creations than in something as difficult to understand as electricity. But I can understand how it is possible and I wish some people could teach us, humanists :), more about that. @Didgaraya We do know what electricity is in physics its a discharge of electrons negatively charged particles, but the overall picture of energy and what it means is still way beyond us. Tesla had a wireless motorboat in 1880 and would play with it on Hudson river people thought it was a trick but then he opend it and showed them the coils and wireless systems operating they did not understand it.

Or perhaps it's that a man has to devote his life to his passion and while he cannot socially survive he is capable of other things (sometimes it seems like man's character is how he invests his time and efforts; we often worry too lot about many things or simply do not care in order to live happily, for example). But, this is all beyond my primary point. I would like people to not look at past but to look at the present and see how his ideals can be implemented.
@Didgaraya He also slept only 2-3 hours a day saying that he could not sleep longer. He said that he also heard voices which drowe him to the point of insanity. He wouldn't shake hands with people and he despised apples for some reason he was repulsed by them. He was obsessed with number 3 and all his calculations had to be divisible by this number if they were not he would start again until they were.
@reddwarf50 I've heard about all those but the apples. It seems to me that people who are very talented (and people tend to call them "geniuses") are troubles balancing themselves. To the point where man probably either has to choose between more brilliant fruits of his but getting closer to insanity or moderate creativity, still brilliant but with more of a "normal life". This, plus loneliness and lack of acceptance/understanding are very bitter helpers.

@reddwarf50 Another brilliant man, O.Welles claimed he was personally taught by H.Houdini, it turned out to be a story he manufactured himself (but Welles was never much of an ethic man, on the contrary to Tesla as it seems). So by that I'm not implying stories about Tesla aren't true or that he was a con. I simply treat them as information, and information be second/third hand or can be fabricated. Nikola Tesla is a Serb. His father was a Serb Orthodox Priest, he is not a jew, croat, or anything else but a Serb. He came to America as back then America was the place to go if you wanted to progress in anything really. Sadly this is not the truth today. He was the greatest scientist that ever lived, most of his shcematics are still locked up and classified.

@MsPicassos Einstein was a theorist, Tesla was a practical man. Yes, Tesla was a genius, but he was so great because he was obsessed with electricity and spent every spare moment in his lab. Tesla was easily 200+ years ahead of his time. No, jews are not smarter than everyone else, a genius can come from anywhere. History is full of them, and they are not all jews.

@reddwarf50 What you say is very interesting and inspiring. Although I'm an idealist myself I think your picture of N.Tesla might be a bit too idealized. Nevertheless, I believe that Mr. Tesla was a man of, let's say, pure heart and beautiful almost child's vision. However, I do not think that these are Marconi and Edison, or any other particular humans, who should be blamed for lack of understanding for his vision. Look around. Look into yourself. Look at your friends and family.

@Didgaraya Nikola was a very difficult man to describe, he once said that the idea of radiowaves came to him in a dream of his mother's death. He actually felt the exact moment his mother had passed away this brought him to wake up and he then knew that his mother was dead. This also brought him to beleive that his brain frequency is same as his mothers and that radiowaves must be of same frequency for the signal to be trasmitted. He was right.

I knew that he was spiritual and I'm actually very much open-minded in terms of things that cannot be explained by human physics (although actually quantum physics give often some most incredible results). Plus I was never much a human pure reason believer, we have hearts and souls too. But that's very interesting. It's often said that twins know when one of them dies. His mother was very close to him, wasn't she?

@Didgaraya Yes he was very close this his mother who also had an "abnormal" intelligence for a woman that lived in a simple village. His father was a Serb ortodox priest, so he would have been thought about spiritual side of things. He was born on exacly 12:00PM and at the moment of his birth a lighting struck near his house.

@reddwarf50 But they will never be truly useful, fruitful and accordingly adored and appreciated (not necessarily as gods of new world, no; it's not a place for alternative celebrities) if there is no fertile ground prepared for them by us -- people who aren't as talented in field of inventions. Still, we can do something for them and, more importantly, for us.

@Didgaraya Tesla was also a spiritualist, he said that once a man truely understands what electricity is a new era would open for mankind. He was above us mortals in many aspects his inventions brought him millions of dollars today if he were materialist his company would be worth hundreds of billions of dollars. He didn't care for that he saw pigeons as his truest friends at the end of his days, as he was dissapointed in humanity. Alot about him is still hidden and classified unfortunately.

@reddwarf50 Understanding electricity as dawn of new era is still difficult for me personally, an artist who seeks for human rather in his artistic creations than in something as difficult to understand as electricity. But I can understand how it is possible and I wish some people could teach us, humanists :), more about that. Also, I'm quite familiar with his life so I know how much material opportunities he rejected. I understand that well as indie artist who often can't afford a bus ticket.

@Didgaraya We do know what electricity is in physics its a discharge of electrons negatively charged particles, but the overall picture of energy and what it means is still way beyond us. Tesla had a wireless motorboat in 1880 and would play with it on Hudson river people thought it was a trick but then he opend it and showed them the coils and wireless systems operating they did not understand it.

Or perhaps it's that a man has to devote his life to his passion and while he cannot socially survive he is capable of other things (sometimes it seems like man's character is how he invests his time and efforts; we often worry too lot about many things or simply do not care in order to live happily, for example). But, this is all beyond my primary point. I would like people to not look at past but to look at the present and see how his ideals can be implemented.

@Didgaraya He also slept only 2-3 hours a day saying that he could not sleep longer. He said that he also heard voices which drowe him to the point of insanity. He wouldn't shake hands with people and he despised apples for some reason he was repulsed by them. He was obsessed with number 3 and all his calculations had to be divisible by this number if they were not he would start again until they were.

@reddwarf50 I've heard about all those but the apples. It seems to me that people who are very talented (and people tend to call them "geniuses") are troubles balancing themselves. To the point where man probably either has to choose between more brilliant fruits of his but getting closer to insanity or moderate creativity, still brilliant but with more of a "normal life". This, plus loneliness and lack of acceptance/understanding are very bitter helpers.

Would you rather be genius-like Tesla and hear voices (personally I think it must be a nightmare), or would you rather be half as genius and spend your weekends playing with your kids? I think that people (even brilliant) offen lack of this self-awareness. Somehow I think that no matter how obsessed you are with your work, simplicity in your life plays very big role and without it happiness is something you touch too rarely.

@Didgaraya It's a very hard question, i dont think Tesla was happy in his life, as the matter of fact he once said that he was happiest around the high voltage "tesla coil" which would arc tremendous amounts of electricity around the room where he would read his favorite book by Rudjer Boskovic on time/space and quantum physics. It must have been difficult being him, he heard voices he said that when his mother died he saw her ascend as a sphere of light with other spheres he called them angels

@reddwarf50 I also heard of this "death ray" :) But I also heard that he divided his plans into 4 or more and sent them to most powerful countries in the world in order to make them work together and supply each of them with the powerful defense system. I don't know if that's true though. Actually, I don't know if half things about him are true.

@Didgaraya Well when he died CIA agents raided his room and confiscated all his work, reports, shcematics, and locked them up for another 5 years when his cousin wanted them back as he was entitled to Tesla's work he recieved only a portion of documents never entire works of Tesla. His work is shoureded in secrecy some even say he gave the documents on death ray weapon to the church as he did not beleive it was safe for it to exist in his safe. He was an engima in true sense.

@Didgaraya Just recently the scientific community turned their attention to Tesla and started to praise him, but until now he was ignored by the scientific community and by the who establishment. He should have been nominated for 6 nobel prises but someone did not want him to suceed. He refused a shared nobel prise with Edison as he despised him to the core, he even called him a microbe :). I dont know but its fun reading about Tesla i find him very interesting.

@reddwarf50 Another brilliant man, O.Welles claimed he was personally taught by H.Houdini, it turned out to be a story he manufactured himself (but Welles was never much of an ethic man, on the contrary to Tesla as it seems). So by that I'm not implying stories about Tesla aren't true or that he was a con. I simply treat them as information, and information be second/third hand or can be fabricated. It's always a tough thing :)

@Didgaraya Hmm Tesla did have a dark side to him. He proposed that the only way for human society to progress is to limit the progeny, meaning that only people of highest qualities such as intellect should breed and produce children. To him this was the most efficient way for envolving humnaity which in fact is true, but at what expense? So yeh he also had a dark side to him today taht could be seen as racist or supremacist view but he spoke honsetly without prejudice of race or origin of people

@reddwarf50 Hmmm... Finally a serious flaw. It was the spirit of the epoch, unfortunately. Idealism in this form was just very dangerous (which Europe's past remains the sad monument of). Although Plato had similar vision of his perfect state so it's nothing new, I would say. Spartans were somewhat of an ideal vision of warriors. Never mind, I'm going too far :) Yes, I also know that he is pretty much pushed into the oblivion by scientist and education. Unfortunately, I can understand why.

@reddwarf50 There is a slight difference: Marconi moved in the wake of other more endowed inventors, Tesla above all, and was possibly given excessive credit for his work. Edison actually stole from his employee Tesla and later went on a ruthless campaign to make Tesla look like a lunatic.
