  • Love The Video!!!! Although, I Have A Question. I Have The Sam Mic, Same MXl USB Converter, But I'm Not Getting The Same Results That Your Songs Sound Like. Do U Have Any Tips???????????

  • @theclaysinger I use an AKG Perception 220 Condenser Microphone. I use an MBox 2 Mini as my interface. And I record, mix, and master with Pro Tools. I used to use an MXL MicMate USB converter though. I do believe it has a lot to do with mixing and mastering which is a lot to talk about, my friend. Perhaps proper EQ and compression? Those really do the trick. And make sure none of your signals are every clipping (in the red/going above 0 DB).

  • @BobbyEarthTV how do you like pro tools? i use it myself. well i just started recently and i like it. the thing is it has no wave editor. i can't precisely go in and edit things i need to. i dislike that about it, but i'm getting logic in the next few days so i'll see what i like better.

what do you do about s's being too loud? normally i would go in and precisely edit them out, but i cant do that in pro tools. what do you do? de essers dont really work with my voice

  • @mylesp I really like Pro Tools. It's prob not the best, but I learned it 'cause it's supposedly the industry standard. I don't think there really is a "best" software. It's all preference. I've messed with de essers. In this particular video, I do believe I used a de esser on the vocals. Just gotta tweak properly. I think improper EQ & too much compression can cause the consonants to sound crappy. Again, make sure you don't clip as well. Rec signal on protools should be in the green
