  • yes the atmosphere sounds like the 80s

  • good video, dumb song

  • First, it's embarrassing when you misspell your "company" name right off the bat. Second, not all the footage is Kittinger. It's been interspersed with other material. Same problem all over YouTube, folks hanging on Kittinger's coattails. If you can't stand on your own, stay on your hands and knees.

  • U love to read bad english? Look at video description.

  • 31.33344 kilometers,........... need big hart, letle mind an more guts....... ..reality is different, it takes hard work, knowledge and a valuable one that bit of insanity to make this jump

  • Is that what the upper atmosphere sounds like?

  • Too bad there is no re-entry burn.

  • I would most defintely get sick. Multiple times.

  • man i wish i could do that...what do you have to do, to do this?

  • @buckkkkeeeedup you have to be one ballsy motherfucker

  • @7thatoneguy do you know where i can sign up?

  • What happened to the balloon?

  • BULLSHIT FLAG

  • @SuperRubicon5 What exactly are you bullshit flagging?

  • @TheDocAfro Terminal velocity at 100,000 ft is going to be insane (somewhere around 2200 ft/sec). it would take approx 70 sec to get there. notice the protective suit he is wearing. basically an astronaut suit. because at the those speeds, and that altitude, his body would be torn to peices, if it didn't explode first

  • Thanks for the film.

  • um.. im afraid hes not falling; hes now in orbit.

  • Talk about your expensive and mad thrills lol This is madness 102,800 feet = 31.33344 kilometers / 19.469697 miles unbelievable :O

  • wow awesome

  • i think this music goes quite well!

  • this music sucks for this great jump

  • How long was he free falling for and how soon did he reach terminal velocity?

  • i have a question who is video taping from 1:20-1:30 ????

  • @kolten111 he left the camera on board. They retrieved it when the balloon fell down.

  • Damn, it must be fucking cold!

  • i'll done this jump in the future

  • 240p we meet again

  • Hello mute button, good of you to come!

  • 0:25 "too infinity and beyooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo................"

  • Imagine his face if he gets past the clouds and all he see's is water

  • boards of canada brought me here

  • me doing this: HOLY SHIT WHAT THE HELL FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

  • my luck is i forget to bring my parachute i would be stupid and have it next to a huge backpack and bring it

  • If I were that guy I'd be all like "Oh shit. Why is my parachute not with me right now?" as I was falling

  • amagine if he had secont thoughts at that height

  • 100 things to do before i die : 1.Free fall from space

  • the suit actually failed, there was a tear or hole on the right hand glove, this caused the guys hand to balloon to like the size of a melon

  • @pnoozi

    uhhhhhh jump i guess.....

  • It's okay, you can scream all you want, no one will hear you. Or help you for that matter. LOL this is cool.

  • ugh are you sure this is safe man?

    sure its not

    lol

  • @stfu965

    hah, no skydiving is safe.

  • the guy jumped because this song was playing in his gondola

  • @BowlingFreak218 LOOOL no shit man...

  • @BowlingFreak218

    Well done.

  • this was a test on how the atmosphere effects humans, this was filmed during the space race, nasa was testing their space suits

  • How did he film himself falling from space?

  • doesnt your body fluids boil once your past 60,000 feet?

  • @Grawr93XD Not if you are wearing a pressure suit - like CPT Kittinger was.

  • @dieselscience ah ok i didnt see that, i thought that was an air tank.

  • @Grawr93XD It did have an air tank as part of it but it's what amounts to a first generation space suit.

  • lol chuck noris vs clouds

  • Comment removed

  • This is more than 3 times the height that a passenger plane flies at! Insane

  • what the music in this video?

  • dude is absolutl;ey crazy but i love it

  • LEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOYYYYYY JEEEEEEENNNNNNNNKKKKKKIIIINSSSSSSS!!!!!

  • It took him 10 minutes to get down . . .

  • has anyone ever noticed that good rare vids like these are really low quality 240

  • @gewizz2 they didnt have the cams like gopros then, like we do now...

  • @piloty5 ..if u hav a gopro then i guess u r into RC vehicles?

  • @gewizz2 i dont, im just saying they are great quality, and since its what almost everyone uses for a small mounted cameras, like on formula d cars, even the discovery channel uses them. they are really good.

  • Balls of steel...

  • USAF RTW

  • Some how i got from minecraft to here and damn dude thats crazy

  • something something balls anything thing about someones balls usually gets top rated

  • I want that!

  • just how long would it take someone to hit the ground from 102,000 feet? 0.o

  • @manbearpigdanny 10 seconds for the first 1000 ft and about 6 seconds for each thousand after that.. However at higher altitudes terminal velocity is a bit faster so just a bit under that.

  • Still wondering what the video "China is running out of Vagina" has to do with this.......

  • @MrXaxo86 LOL same here... o.o

  • they did this 50yrs ago.. and they cant do it now... ?

  • the awkward moment when you realise that you've forgotton your parachute...

  • THAT IS EXTREME

  • Its funny I watched an old video of an interview with kittinger where the interviewer asked why he had two watermellons in his pants and he replied saying "Those are my Balls".

  • Switch this gay song....

  • @Kelleygarret Aww, does it make you uncomfortable that there is music like this out there? Yes, there is music that doesn't sound like the music that you hear on pop radio. Get used to it. Some people actually like this kind of music.

  • Nicely done video paired with the ever classic track "Don't Crash" by the pioneers of Electronic Body Music, Front 242.

    :D

  • i do that every fucking day when i wake up from my bed

  • I'd like to know his time in the air. From jump to touchdown. But the US Navy SEAL teams do HALO (High Altitude Low Open). Which is normally around 30,000 feet. Same as this just not nearly as high.

  • biggest hardnut on earth

  • @TheMGS12345 do you have an IQ ?

  • @ominona555777 helium balloons pop at the edge of the earth atmosphere and free fall through the surface ..

  • gayest music ever. faggotry.

  • what song did you use for the video?

  • @TheAmazingMrMcFlyy

Front 242's "Don't Crash" off of the "Politics Of Pressure" single which was released in 1985 on Wax Trax! Records.

More info here (just remove the added spaces and then copy & paste into your Internet browser):

    Enjoy!

  • could this music get any gayer?

  • what happens if you get to 102,000 feet and you change your mind?

  • @pnoozi you become a spaceman!

  • @pnoozi You'd Bottle it and float forever in space lol

  • @TheMGS12345 It is real dumbass -.- It is the world record set in 1960

  • @theslashmetal The highest civilian jump is near Memphis at 30,000 ft.

  • oups

    he missed the step

100 000feet i'd like to make the same jump where is it possible?

  • How could they rescue the images in the baloon if there was only 1 guy there... and the balooon went to space???

  • @ominona555777

Balloon drifted back to Earth and the military was able to recover it (tracking device on the balloon).

Film / Video was housed in specially built shockproof canisters which withstood the impact upon returning to solid ground.

Video and film images were either on a timer or via remote control once Joseph Kittinger stepped off of the balloon's gondola.

    ;-)

  • too bad this is fake because you can't survive at that altitude outside of and aircraft. Oh and jvergakis you can't hack it that russia is too good for you fuck head :)

  • @TheMGS12345 guess why the suit? genius...

  • @propkid that makes no sense and the suit wouldn't do anything

  • @TheMGS12345 uhuh the space men's suits also dont do anything for them...

  • @propkid Are you like 5 you fucking retard? Go and learn how to write.

  • @TheMGS12345 you can survive if the suit is airtight :)

  • isnt he the only human to break the sound barrier with out some kind of aircraft

  • Just think, if he had lost his bottle and was so scared that it forced him not to jump he would have died while entering space lol.

  • @evilfangs I don't think he could have entered space even if he tried but either way i would have shit my pants and hyper ventilated because he was pretty dam close to space.

  • And burning up? No. Shuttle STS programs when in re-entry are traveling at very high velocities in space without resistance. During reentry they hit that atmospheric resistance in friction seen as burning. NASA studied No Velocity Re-Entry or like Free falling which is less destructive. It only requires more fuel since the shuttle would have to slow it's speed by thrusting in reverse. More fuel means more weight.

  • Jumping twenty miles when in the atmosphere won't let you end up in Africa. And it's not deadly hot, it's deadly cold but in low pressure, heat doesn't transfer quickly so one could be exposed to the atmosphere longer than you'd expect. Without the pressure suit your body would puff up and swell.

  • so he has the record for highest skydive and worlds biggest balls

  • They must have made a special suit for his big fucking Balls to do that jump!

  • @uncleavi2002 I love it ! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Funny guy and well said. ha ha ha ha BIG BALLS good one. Not to mention the fact that the seam in one of his gloves came apart but he said nothing, fearing that his superiors might abort the mission. HUGE BALLS for sure.

  • ummm wouldnt u burn up

  • @haloceman4 he wasnt exactly out of the atmosphere yet.

  • @jpsncds but still when you are in earths atmosphere and highe enough it is deadly hot

  • @jpsncds very true but thats why he has that suit. huge breakthrough for astronauts.

  • @jpsncds oh ok then

  • @haloceman4 No, you have to be going a lot faster for that.

  • Front 242 " Don't Crash "

    cool tune!

  • This man has the largest balls in the world

  • left his phone in the balloon

  • @tomharris124

Would have made the coolest Facebook group though, "Lost phone while jumping outta balloon in space NEED NUMBERS"

  • pause the video.

    mute it.

search "oceanlab if i could fly" in another youtube tab.

play and watch at the same time.

  • FUCK THAT SHIT!!!

We can swim we can run and we can walk..If god wanted us to fly..he would have gave us wings....Maybe thats just me shitting myself

Yup I think it is...What a crazy Fuckr

  • he should opened his parachutes at 0:25 xD

  • MID VIDEO, instinctual head bobbing initiated.

  • From that high of altitude, I wonder if you would create a crater if you DIDNT pull your shute.

and I thought objects burn up when re-entering earth's atmosphere?

  • @conrailbuff He wasn't re-entering the atmosphere, there would still be gases at that height to slow him a little. Meteors are already going fast + if the earth is going towards them the relative speed is faster, Kittinger started from 0mph so wouldnt have time to accelerate to a fast enough speed to burn up. once you are at terminal velocity you would just slow as the air got thicker so by the ground you would be going at the same speed as someone that jumped from a plane, so no crater.

  • @Snooch1984 Well explained snooch.

  • @conrailbuff He wasn't nearly high enough up in the atmosphere for either of those things to be possible.

  • The guy holding the camera was even higher. :)

  • this man has balls the size of fuck

  • i wonder if normal belly to earth flight is possible at that altitude.

  • @eriktenerife this really made me lol i dont know why

  • I think he jumped out because the only thing he could hear on the radio up there was this song.

  • @andygriff1979 well, the earths gravitational orbit would pull him in. Its like being in the ocean, no matter where you are you will eventually you will hit land because of tides

  • what if he jumped out and started floating? ;-)

  • apparently when kittenger did the jump the pressurized seal on his glove broke causing him to be in immense pain.

  • imagine, orbital beer pong.

  • it's industrial ..

if you like this music go listen to some skinny puppy!

why can't people have an appreciation for all music?

  • @industrypunks because it's fucking retarded. Pacman has better music.

  • Worst music I have ever heard

  • WHAT IF HE LANDS IN WATER?????

  • @MulticoloredFishs he dies unless he has a parachute.

  • whats wrong with the music?

  • @industrypunks its sucks

  • Comment removed

  • @eriktenerife Front 242 - Don't crash

  • that would be such an amazing song to listen to whilst free falling!!!!!! justr pure partying in space!!!! it would be hilariouse!!!!

  • how is is that the camera went into space but he stil got the footage

  • @taymorgan77 Very good point. Only thing I can think of, was that the footage was being played back at the base or whatever, on TVs... for support.

  • @taymorgan77

It was a weather balloon. They drop back down after a period of time.

    + Space is at 327,000 feet. :p

  • IM IN SPACE!

  • @tquasa trippy music would have worked better if you ask me, but it was an awesome video nonetheless.

  • That balloon rig looks like the loneliest place on earth.

  • my ears popped just from watching this.

  • no wonder her didnt burn up like meteorite.. lol

  • Chuck Norris nods in acknowledgement to Kittinger

    Hahaha :P

  • if he had a hang glider, how far will he go?

  • @phantom1000A probably all the way to Soviet Union.

  • Why did they let 'Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog' write their video description?

  • first i wouldve stuck my ass over the side and took a huge shit over russia

  • @Jvergakis

Luckily for us your ass would evaporate as soon as you attempted it

  • @Jvergakis And have to wonder on the way down if you might catch up with it....

  • @Jvergakis The vacuum in space would have sucked your shit out, then your ass would have frozen.

  • @Jvergakis

    BREAKING NEWS!

Astounding story of a kid who got hit in the head by what seems to be a fecal material at a speed of 784 M/PH!

    Or, since it was Russia.

    НАША НОВОСТЬ!

Поразительная история ребенок, который получил удар в голову, что, кажется, фекалии со скоростью 784 м / PH!

  • @Jvergakis The US is full of crap already so there's no point doing it over that shite cuntry..

  • @azynkron

Aah, I see you've been here.

  • @Jvergakis and they would shoot you with an AK right in your second butthole ^^

  • I had thought he broke the speed of sound during this jump. And now Ive figured out why. He accelerated to 990 km/h, just shy of the 1200 or so it would take to break the sound barrier. The video below states that at 990 he broke the speed of sound. Am I missing something? Or are they mistaken?

    /watch?v=MQ7N6V-YKJ8&feature=bf_next&list=PL67EC8FC023BFE6EA&index=17

  • @Mycophilliac I think sound travels slower through less dense material

  • I remember thinking to jump from a 2nd floor for like 2-4 mins and kittinger just said:I took a last look around our beautifull planet and i jumped.

Balls? There should be another word bigger then balls, like KITTINGER.

  • I like the water drops on the camera @ 2:36

  • What happened to the balloon???

  • @1988mlh it popped

  • fucking maniac, in 1960 jump from fkin space...

  • Wow, much hate for the song here. I quite like Front 242, in actual fact...

  • I dont know if i should like this video because of the video or hate it because of the song. AHhhhhhhh what would Kittinger do?

  • they must have recovered the balloon

  • Shittiest excuse for noise I ever dun heard

  • I hate it when people steal good footage from other people and dub it with shit music
