I want to know what the point of the field trip was supposed to be. @jerkface33105 you know, over 90% percent of the population in the south did not own any slaves yet still cultivated cotton. You still have many misconceptions about this poor whites did not earn wages from employers in the south, thats just not how southern economy worked. The yeoman farmer in the south cultivated cotton and sold it to make their own profit.

@jerkface33105 first of all a poor white cotton farmer did not work for a planter. Second of all, they couldnt do much else other than cultivate so thats out of the question. The comparison between white cotton pickers and slaves shows historical literacy and an understand of the time, while your statement shows information backed by stereotypes and misconceptions of slavery taught by victimizing black extremists
