You get the impresion that McCain was held in a wooden stockade with a sandy /dirt floor, I thought he was held in a prison in Hanoi with concrete floors. I saw a recent interview with the Vietnamese commander of the prison he was held in and he says McCain was never tortured, in fact he was given special treatment because he was the son of a U.S. Admiral.

Ronald Reagan started doing the same thing in his later years-he started telling war stories that people later found out were actually movie story lines-fiction. I think these politicians spend so much time and effort selling themselves, trying to create this special image, that when they get older and their minds start to slip, the line between truth and fiction starts to blur. McCain probably told so many stories so many times, he can no longer remember what is true and what he made up.

John McCain only lies about Obama's tax policies because, should Obama win, McCain is that rich that he might have to refrain from buying another couple of (dozen) houses and actually spread some of his own wealth, as a member of the rich 5%. That's why he's pissed. Obama's policies will bring an end to McCain's ambition to own a nice place to nap in every state in the union.

It's high, but it's certainly not 40%, and even if it was that'd still be most of the country. It's hypocritical of McCain and Palin to do this, they claim they care about the poorer people when they throw away so much of needless things, it's there money, and they're entitles to spend it how they want, but they don't get to then ride the high horse of caring about others financial well being. Families have to pay for a lot of medical treatment out their own pockets, very poor families.

In the position he was and the wounds he had received, shock can take over and can mess with your memories. I myself learned that when I was wounded in Iraq, until you accept and understand what is going on your mind wanders to avoid the pain and creates scenerios to distract from what is going on at the time. Maybe the guard read the book and did the same?

When I first saw the Christmas ad he did with this story I was in tears. Faith is very important to me as is my spiritual guidance.
It is clear that he lifted this reference from Alexander Solzhenitsyn's Book.
He also borrowed a reference to pumpkin soup and soggy bread from the same book.
The news has done such a poor job in fact checking MCain's stories.

This "news" is from a Daily Kos Diary. The same sight that you can find people wishing Nancy Reagan death and saying that Tony Snow deserved cancer. Take this story with a grain of salt, especially when the person telling it says "I think" right before the conspiracy theory. Have some heart and search for the truth on your own. These TYTs do not fact check or reveal sources. They just parrot what they find on Kos, Media Matters, MoveOn, etc. That's when they don't edit clips to distort.

I'm an 8 year Marine Corps War vet and I can tell you there's no such thing as a P.O.W. record. The enemy in Vietnam did not compile a "daily torture log book" or keep a Running Service Entry Record of Prisoner John McCain. This is ludicrous. Way to try to attack a war hero. There is a Naval Base named after McCains father and grandfather. Thats the kind of lineage I want in a President...not that Obama is a bad guy...I spent time with him in Iraq...he's well spoken...but thats about it.
