  • herman cain would make a good president but he needs to be less opinionated and less extreme when he shuns Muslims. General Powell is right on this point.

  • @laroger0 Well, well, well... don't you look like a moron now? Herman Cain would make a good President?

What I admire about the right is your lack of shame. Being an imbecile is almost a badge of honor to you low-information fundamentalists.

    9-9-9

  • @rfrantzt Well, I was wrong about just one thing. Him as a person. Yes, he appears to be a dirt bag. But, as for being the only one that can beat Obama, that is still to be shown. I don't think there are any Republicans who CAN beat Obama now. The jury is still out on that one. We shall see.

  • IDIC Spock said it in Star Trek, Colin is right! This character assasination from the right or left has got to go!!! These people are the ones who should be investigated!!!!! Michelle Bachman will NEVER be President or Vice President. She has alot of Skeletons in her Jesus Closet, wait and see!

  • Have you ever noticed that these so salled "patriots" who sceam and cry about "Socialism" and people getting "handouts" never mention the oil compnies who get billion dollar subsidies while enjoying multi billion dollar quarterly profits? Yeah, it's the por that are the problem. RIIIGGGHHHHTTT.

  • @Mozart1220, unfortunately, you are not wrong.

  • Seems ironic that those calling for a "second revolution" are the same ones complaining about previous revolts against the government. As if there was no reason before to be protesting and revolting against government policies and now there is because Obama is in office.

  • I respect Mr. Powell's Sentiment. I am glad he is speaking in favor of America!!!

  • @protocol66, hmmm, I smell Tea-Bagger.

  • @protocol66 "Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither."

    - Benjamin Franklin, one of your founding fathers. You are describing something similar to the witch hunts of the 1950s. The problem with implementing laws and institutions that would conduct these investigations like this is that they can be exploited by fascists. It sounds like secret police. Besides it is a complete betrayal of trust. Of course anyone who wants to become the president of the USA is a nationalist.

  • @protocol66 Ayers set off an M-80 under a statue at a college. He was never involved in any of the crap you mentioned, except in Glenn Beck, or Rush Limbaugh's delusional minds. And do you REALLY want to play the "Who knew who" game with Bush and the rest of your batshit bunch waiting to be discussed? BTW, how many Republican candidates have had their birthplace challenged? I wish Republicans would have spent as much time and money investigating 9-11 as as they did Bill Clinton's sex life.

  • I THINK IT SHOULD BE A CRIME THAT HE WILL NOT RUN FOR PRES!

  • Powell finally came to his senses. More Republicans should follow his lead.

  • Powell 2012!!!!!!!!

  • Michele Bachmann: "I'M NOT A FLAKE!"

    Duh?

"I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America?" 10/17/08

"I want people in Minnesota ARMED AND DANGEROUS on this issue . . . Thomas Jefferson told us 'having a revolution every now and then is a good thing,' 3/23/09

"You're the state where the shot was heard around the world at Lexington and Concord," - 3/12/11 (in "New Hampshire"- NOT Massachusetts)

    Oops!

  • i liked powell, until that moment at the UN.

    at least he has brains.

    hip hip for Colin.

  • You are no different than the man you hold up. A biggetted stupid irrational progressive communist, that will only be happy when P.O. has made you as rich as he is. Right. You are not worth the air. This is my last attempt at helping the helpless. Take a hike off the royal gorge.

  • This man should have run for president, He would have got my vote for being smart and black! Palin and McCain? Thanks to conservative media we get pounded with this crap even now. Fox News and its cast of characters is beyond ridculous. The world is watching and they are laughing hard

  • Bush didn't ask for 9/11 to happen. He said the terrorist will feel the pain of 9/11. A democratic Pres., would have set down and tried to talk to the terrorists. That may be your mantra, but not mine. God helps those whom help themselves. So Bush spent the in the black money. Oh did we forget Katrina happened, didn't it, and we couldn't not help them. So how do you like Pres. O with the 13 trillion in the red? Because that's your legacy. Not mine. Does the truth hurt??

  • @pullerabc you are clearly a thick headed person that can only see one side of an issue. You are laughable. Bush's war in Iraq was a business deal, plain and simple. And he used thousands of brave Americans to pull it off for the benefit of the War machine. You and I paid for it and continue to pay for it. And all you can talk about is Obama. Pull your head out of your ass and see what's really going on.

  • I see none of the HONOR, and HONESTY for the love of Pete, Pres. O doesn't believe in it, and then we have respect. The Military doesn't respect him at all. They follow orders, but do not trust him period. Bush made some bad decisions, by not vetoing those bad bills, but not like the current Pres. Bush was handed a chest with money in it from The Clinton years, but lest I remind you, the 1994 republican election with Newt Gingrich as the leader made all of that money, not the DEMOCRATS.

  • Not congress, nor has the idiot liberal run NEWS MEDIA checked him out. Where did his money come from Documents show he started college getting college aid as a foreign student. He worked as a community organizer, got married and became a millionaire. You have to be a total idiot to believe that. The Chicago mob ring a bell, and oh yes Bill Airyes, a sell professed un-repentant BOMBER. Pres. O is a PUPPET for the crime bosses, including most union bosses, and of Multi-billionaire George Soros.

  • You are entitled to your view as I am, BUT one thing is for sure: we differ in the basic fundamentals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, which is where we place HONOR, HONESTY, and RESPECT.. Pres. O opens his mouth and fills the air with LIES. He has filled his cabinet with thieves, thugs and tax cheats, and you think it's just great, can't do no wrong. And the current congress has allowed a NOBODY from NOWHERE, with no credentials, become their leader. No one vetted him out.....

  • You are a total jerk who can only repeat childish nonsense, For instance, if you weren't such an uneducated bigmouth, you'd know that almost all leaders and politicians use either teleprompters or papers when giving a speech. Also, you go on about Obama bowing to Saudi royalty, your buddy Bush was their best friend. You have no HONOR, HONESTY, or RESPECT, you're just a right wing fascist retard spewing out a bunch of childish rubbish. You are as backwards and ignorant as they come.

  • We have strayed, no jumped off the deep end when it comes to following the constitution, and seeing as how you are a liberal progressive at heart there is no way to argue with an idiot. You made it perfectly clear when you brought up BUSH. Did Bush HAVE to have the PROMPTER to give speeches written for him. Was BUSH a PUPPET for George Soros. Did Bush ever BOW, or apologize or belittle America. YES, Bush when handed a bill sent from a DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED Congress, signed the bad bills.

  • @pullerabc, after eight years of Bush, I don't see how anyone can make us look any worse.

I have been employed since I was fourteen years old, so I would say my hand has never been held out for a handout.

It would seem that if one does not think the same way as Republicans, or Teabaggers, they don't know anything. In fact, both of these groups are making up history as they go.

  • @pullerabc If it wasn't for big gov't socialist programs (like the police) , I wouldn't ask for a hand out I would simply take everything you have, but not your money, because if there was effectively no gov't as tea party regressives seem to advocate, paper currency would be worthless. your proabaly another conservative who has never had an honest days work in your life, but you "earned" your money sitting at a desk... Pathetic

  • @pullerabc Beats the lies, the naked power grabs, the war in Iraq being based on false, manufactured evidence intelligence and making us look like we hate all Muslims.

Hell,Colin Powell knew that he had to get away from ol' Shrub if he was going to be left with a shred of integrity and dignity.

I've been collecting your money just like Colin Powell did,I served in the Army in Desert Storm and I've been deployed twice for Iraq.Trump that a-hole for service and patriotism.

  • @pullerabc It's President O., not Mr. O. Learn to deal with it.

  • @acr08807 It's Mr President. :)

  • @pullerabc - Describe "Socialism". I am not sure how old you are, but every time a Democrat is in the White House, all the sudden we are headed towards "Socialism." That is the biggest joke in the United States. Hands out to government? WTF? When a person falls on hard times through no fault of their own, yes we have our hands out. We pay taxes, so it is not like a free lunch. The needless war in Iraq will end up costing 3 TRILLION. I don't hear you bitch about that total waste of money!

  • @pullerabc you wouldn't know socialism if it bit your arse you cracker twat.

    God, americans are dumb!

  • @pullerabc Turn the USA to socialism because of what? A reorganised banking system that would work better and keep the USA out of debt from China and a Health care system? Do you know what the hell socialism is? The right spurt 'socialism' as a dirty word and they have no clue. The USA has socialist elements already - most countries do; national parks, highways built by the state, a fire service, a police service, hell even a standing army is a form of socialism.

  • He is one of the few fair politicans

  • God damn it Colin! You need to join up with the real Conservatives who throw war heroes under the bus election time, just like they did to you. I mean John Kerry looked French even though he actually went and fought in Vietnam he looked fucking FRENCH! George Bush served his country with great honor during Vietnam and no one will ever forget the respect he showed Vietnam vets like Mccain and Kerry when he had to win an election against them.

  • i would say that as the fomer joint cheif of staff colin powell is well qualified to comment on who he belives would be the best cantidate for the presidency. i do not think race had anything to do with his endorsement.

  • I didn't realize that Colin Powell was so foolish. We all have the right to question a politicians beliefs. So it is ok for him to criticize Michelle but not not ok for her to to criticize. Are Americans getting stupid and Powell is exploiting that fact. Anyway even Powell is complaining about Obama now. So I guess the liberal media will have to call him on his divisiveness and racism.

  • @pullerabc, I would say Colin Powell is at least as qualified as many of the commentators in the media today. I say this not as someone on the left or right. There are some pretty outrageous folks on both sides making comments.

However, I do think the General has a great deal of integrity, and I respect what he has accomplished, as a minority, and as an individual.

  • I'd respect any man regardless of color that has accomplished what the general has. But integrity runs a little shallow when as a registered republican cast his support to the democrats because of his ethnic back ground. He crossed the line and showed his true intergrity by doing so.

  • @pullerabc, you have a right to your opinion, but I don't agree. I am not convinced that Powell endorsed Obama because of race.

Incidentally, I appreciate the fact that you are able to disagree, and yet be civil. It's refreshing, and I am being sincere.

  • back at ya.

  • @pullerabc Party loyalty over a conscience is just mindless, 'zombie-ism' and politics. Its not integrity. A man of integrity is loyal to right and wrong, but not necessarily a political party. A registered republican has every right to vote democrat if he feels that the democratic 'candidate' is better than the republican 'candidate.' If he did vote mostly for ethnic background, then he is actually following a long and established Republican tradition.

  • @pullerabc Barack Obama was certainly more vetted than Palin ever was.

Any attempt to help anyone who doesn't make a million dollars or more per year is of course socialism.Remember folks even though tax rates are lower than at any time since WWII you're Taxed Enough Already. We gave Shrub and his gang of thugs and fixers control over the economy for eight years and what did we get in return?Tax cuts for the wealthy and weak economic growth, followed by the worst recession since 1929.

  • @pullerabc Well,Colin Powell is trying to recover his honor and integrity that he lost when he sold out to Shrub.

Lies? President Obama has cut taxes, like he promised to do.He works with our allies, instead of trying to bully them, like he promised to do.

Socialism?Maybe you ought to talk to Dick Cheney about using the government to help out your favorite company.I can't decide if that's socialism or just lain old fashioned corruption.

  • So doesn't he have just as much a right to speak his opinion as you do?

  • @zahir13 Yes he does, but complacentcy is the reason we will never stop the enemy long before they become so impowered as to challenge the greatest weoponized country in the world. It started with McAurthur in Korea, then to Vietnam, the stop short war in 91, and today in Afgan. You finish the war you don't change to a POLICE action. As soon as you do emotions get us into re-doing things all over again and at a cost far greater than the initial conflict.

  • I don't see any complacency in Powell's remarks, but an opinion of political rhetoric that goes beyond what should be acceptable.

More, he backed the candidate between two offered that he thought the better choice. Did every white person who voted for McCain do so for race? And might not his opinions actually have validity, even if you disagree with them?

  • @pullerabc But you would give the analysis & commentary of some two bit religious nut case or high school drop out like Hannity and Beck more weight than Powell, who at least graduated from college.

  • Colin Powell is a man who speaks the truth, that's what's making it tough to be a conservative these days.

  • im amazed by how sincerely he can speak. most politicans have a kind of mechanic feel to their speech. kudos to powell

  • Powell privately contested the gross mismanagement of the conflict in Iraq, but publicly he supported it...I think he is a good guy but I think he shoulders a whole lot of the responsibility for what happened there and I think he should be the one to come out and speak about it...

  • I supported the war in Iraq because people of the stature of Colin Powell said there were Weapons of Mass Destruction. Feel a bit of a fool now. Still he did have the courage to resign.

  • he should have run for president when he had the chance, he's a good guy

  • agreed - clearly so smart and thoughtful and solid. He should run for SOMETHING, we need good people like him in office. Maybe he should replace Bachmann...

  • A voice of reason in a sea of stupidity.

  • This is a great study in humanity. While I have great respect for the good General, even though he became a general, I think it's interesting to see how everyone is limited due to the lane they were/are in. General Powell is a true 'merican patriot and all around good guy but Ayers is absolutely central to the issue of Obama's presidency, according to me of course. I really don't care who wins because all the real losers got booted in the primaries. Wishing you the best...tik

  • Is Powell anti-American, Ms. Bachmann?
