No one's probably gonna read this, but I’ll say it anyway cuz I feel at least 1 person will. I'm a young designer and graffiti artist, I know there's a million out there but I feel like my art has a unique individual style.
If you just take a min and give me a chance I'll make you a believer. I would love nothing more than to have a loyal following on YouTube. If anyone who reads this could press the "THUMBS UP" others will see it. Just a simple button push will make a huge difference.
I love this song, but after all this time I realized The Tubes copied The Korgis' "Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime", and it's not accidental: the introduction is the same and in the Korgis' video the singer is also on the water in a room - I gotta say "shame on you" but I think it's too late now
@hammertoebubbaloo I disagree. The Korgis song is great. I hear more of a production influence. David Foster likely heard potential arrangements based upon it. But this is more orchestrated, the beat hits harder, those vocal stacks really are out of this world. No contest. Spooner sings much better and he put much more intensity in it. Especially at the end. It is easily one of the best final minutes of rock vocals, ever. NO shame. We need more music like this today.
Was a club DJ in Brighton Uk late 70's early 80's and this song always went down so well at the end of the night.
Perhaps an updated version by a band like the Krezip (Dutch band) who did a great cover of Everybodys got to learn sometime' could really revamp this song in the 21st century!
I remember seeing this video way back when and thinking how cool does that look some guy who looks like he just came from work and holding that cool guitar.
Been an avid fan of the Tubes since 1980. Was sad when they gave it up. Happy when they came back together. Absolutely devastated over the loss of Vince. I met him after a gig in Atlanta (sans Fee), and what a kind, gracious and creative person.
I'm just glad these guys are still at it. To me, they're one of those bands that gets the audience to have fun, and they shouldn't quit till they're old enough to go into a nursing home. :-)
Ah.. the original.... much better than that live crap.. Not a good live band... unless yer there.. maybe.. :) ..... love the tubes..!!! 80's forever! .
@gremlinjr I disagree. Yes, I like this version better, as David Foster's amazing production can't easily be duplicated outside of the studio. Yes they do put on a show that sometimes distracts from the song. But the live versions are great & even though this clearly was Spooners song, Fee does it justice, singing it live.
SPOONER!

Great song, definitely something I can picture Chicago or Boz Scaggs doing, I totally agree this song should have made the Top 10, not #35

One of my all time favourites - such a great song, goose-bump vocals, performance & production.

I played with Bill Spooner in one of his band classes in 1993.
We used to sit on the fire escape and smoke b4 class.
I knew of "She's a beauty" of course but had never heard this song till recently.
What a great song!
