  • That has always been my favorite show. Dicks Picks 6. esp disc 2. best scarlet ever played imo.

  • He always gets credited for going to 10/14/83..... but he never says it specifically. It could have been 10/15/83, which in my opinion is no where near as good as the first night

  • 10/06/00 - Someone has to have video of it.

  • vibeman..........;)

  • Yep Trey...i remember shedding my Iron Maiden wifebeater and proclaiming `Where are the Flowers' after hearing the Dead and, well..........other things.......

  • I liked this!!

  • @ mr grevy..your comment is ignorant and you obviously know NOTHING about music..your biased opinion holds no weight..not even in water..boo you

  • @prapicella Oh I know nothing about music? Because I have a different opinion than you? Small minded goofy turd. What a pain in the ass you must be.

  • Trey shouldn't even be on the same stage as Weir.

  • @MrGrevy Alright now lets not be brash. I think Trey has every damn right to be up there. He earned his keep in the 90's.

  • @MrGrevy ignorance is bliss huh? u obviously know nothing about music

  • @MrGrevy That's true. Weir is so far behind Anastastio as far as talent. It was actually comical to watch Bobby try to keep up with Trey at that show at Shoreline in 2000, only to give up and blame the mic.

  • @themightyturtle That's so wrong it's not even funny. Weir is the man.

  • @MrGrevy I never said he wasn't. Trey is just that much better. Go look up that Shorline show (pre-hiatus).

  • @themightyturtle Which dates? I am not that familiar with Phish shows

  • @MrGrevy Yeah, you're right. he's so much better it's unreal

  • My Van got broken into at that show...dang it.

  • Bob is BURNT

  • the show trey was at was probably 10/14/83, because that was the dicks picks that was officially released like bob said, that was dicks picks 6

  • @acidinurmind I was thinking 10/15/83, but yeah 10/14 probably for the reasons you stated. I love 10/15/83, its such a great show and the St. Stephen was nice to hear, the place went insane when the first notes were played. I think people were in shock when they first heard Stephen being played, everybody was still confused from Space and then out of the madness came Stephen.

The whole place lifted off the ground I think :) I miss the grateful dead.

    God Bless the grateful dead

    God Bless

  • @mcdstuff LMAO . . Tell me exactly how the Jerry is better than Steve Howe?

Are you high? Oh, you must be, you're into The Dead.

    Jerry's playing = chicken sratch.

    You can't be serious.

  • @GaryNull

Steve Howe's technique is impeccable, but devoid of soul and frankly, boring... And yes it's still subjective, depending on the genre one's into. Jerry's "chicken scratches" are much more enjoyable and listenable than Howe's studied pretentious fingering exercises. It's only rock n' roll after all.

  • @krispysmurf amen brotha.. steve howe is like a perfect guitar player for lack of a better word but dude...(garynull)...theres just no comparing him to jerry or trey.. to say the word chicken scratches about jerry's playing is "straight ignant dawg"

  • download that show they're talking about if you like the dead

  • oh my god the two biggest dorks in the music industry....hot sound check bobby....wow DORK!!!!

  • I was there at that show and i gotta tell ya those boy's were on fire both nights 10/14 and 10/15 1983.A half hour scarlet>fire and then a half hour estimated>eyes into the drums trust me go listen it will make you howl like a hippie.

  • woo ooo

  • @GaryNull u need to figure out your life asap

  • @andrewburton12345678 you need to figure music out asap lol

  • @GaryNull your a fuckin idiot

  • @GaryNull yes totally bro. That's why they're appearing on this panel. Everybody hates their musical contributions.

  • @GaryNull is into Poison, GNR, BonJovi and all the other mindless 80's fucktard music.

  • @Stolehome66 No, I'm into musicians who can play GOOD. Queen, Yes, ELP, Crimson, etc.

Trey and the dead are just soooooooooooo lame. Put you to sleep. There isn't enough drugs in the

world for me to get into this music. Just boring. I like some 80's, but not the crap bands you listed.

  • @GaryNull Haha. God.

  • Ti plants

  • Comment removed

  • If your bickering about who's better perhaps you dont get music the way the guys playing it get it. MaYbe dont take too much credit for what SOME THING OR SOMEONE else created. (god?) LET MUSIC BE MUSIC!!! FEEL FREE TO GROW!!!

  • has bob weir been to a phish show?

  • @Jahagree

10/7/00 i was there, they played west la fadeaway chalk dust and el paso

  • Beverly Sills is hot!

  • You can see the whole forum at theforumchannel. tv

  • Oh bob, always bitchin bout the monitors. Anyone know where to see the rest of this?

  • What year was this symposium??

  • that dude helped pioneer the wall of sound. he knows how a monitor works w/ a mic.

  • REPRESENT!!!! I'm sitting i a Taft dorm room right now. We had a raffle this week for 5 tickets for his upcoming concert in Wallingford. Unfortunately I didn't win but I will hopefully end up going with the person who did!!!

  • its funny how alot of musicians who are influenced by people dont actually sound like them at all.. not saying this specificly about Trey or anyone, just saying...but it does apply to Trey i guess. Point is...Phish has good songs and alot of shit songs

  • @Euphoriaman all good songs my man

  • @taylor8492 good thing your not in charge of programming anywhere because you obviously have no fucking clue when it comes to music. You sound like a brainless fuck who only skill is to barf up ideas that you heard from other people who you think are authorities on the subject of good music. Go eat a bag of dicks you mediocre fuck.

  • hHHAHAHHA! i dont think anyone else caught that louis ck refference but fuck yea dude! hahah the best.

  • Comment removed

  • lmao

  • If you don't think the Dead is one of Phish's big influences, check out 12-1-84 at Nectar's.

  • trey is awesome and everything, but he's lying to bobby. trey said in an article a few years ago that the dead was only a mild inspiration and that jimmy was his main inspiration and hero...i already a bunch of people are going to challenge me on this...so let's begin!

  • my brothers godmother is best friends with trey and she tells us that he always talks about how huge the dead were to him.

  • dude you are a totally clueless clownshow

  • sorry man, I do my homework! you dont have a clue what you're talking about. the dead has been my life for over 20 years. anybody who knows anything about phish knows that trey can't stand being compared to jerry. just listen to the live shows, he credits charlie parker and frank zappa more than the dead.

  • sorry bro, yer an idiot. he talked about going to a show and being blown away. he said nothing about Jerry. he said the show was like getting hit with a shovel. Stick to dave matthews and listening to wave to the wind. NEWB!

  • This guy couldn't pack Jerry's lunch. He's a creepy, weaselish Connecticut prep boy.

  • Comment removed

  • that was probably in reference to his actual guitar technique and sound and what not.... obviously phish doesnt sounnnndd like the dead... but the style and the whole communal idea of the dead... as he speaks about here... is what clearly inspired phish s entire attitude towards touring and theyre relationship with their fans.... there are no jimmy-heads... just dead heads and phish heads.. well and biscuit heads but thats a different story haha... you do the math.

  • who cares. seriously

  • how do you know he wasn't lying about what he said in the article?

  • yeah, it's a bit much at times. trey's a good guitar player but please enough with the self-important b.s. - Phish is a fun band, but not a serious band in a spiritual sense. Those who claim they are need to expand their musical listening tastes, imho.

  • @PositiveEdge

    What a clueless comment.

Not serious in a spiritual sense? What is that supposed to mean? A good Phish jam is pure musical bliss to me.

  • @eneyeseeyou - that's my opinion and I'm glad you find their music spiritually rewarding. Just try not to be so rude about expressing it. Thanks.

  • I was at this Hartford Conn. October 1983 show; they did St. Stephen (they did it there & at madison square garden like 3 days before). Like all Dead shows then it was fun. Tho Bob has it wrong; "I" bought the vibe....maannnnnnn!

    : )

  • Bob isn't as good a conversationalist as jerry but I still love him :O.

  • I like how Weir's fishing for Trey's name and has to resort to ,"ya'll's."

  • Comment removed

  • You brought the vibe, man. That was funny

  • trey always bring it

  • hahaha yeah that seemed almost staged or something! gotta love bobby

  • any one know the year

  • Bob is The MAN!

    Phil is aswell!

But the King of all guitarists, is definitely Hunter Brown.

Haha,, Maybe you brought the vibe, man.

  • you like Phil, huh? cool man.

  • "There was one Dead show I saw," Anastasio says as we stop at a light. "One show I'd rank as one of the best concerts I've ever seen." He squints into the distance, remembering. "It was at Hartford Civic Center, 1982 or '83," he continues."And it was just a concert, you know? It wasn't about the vibe; it wasn't about the scene. I wasn't hanging out with my friends and stuff. I was just standing there, alone. Just listening to the music." Wow. And you weren't on acid or anything. "Oh, no. I was."

  • where's that from? the phish book?

  • yeah i would realy like to read the whole article

  • I was lucky enough to see Ratdog for the first time back in June in Seattle. Amazing show. Bobby is such a cool guy.

  • @nathan102485 ratdog rocks

  • Bob's so used to bitching about monitors, he can't help himself.

  • Bob was starting to stumble and mumble toward the end of the interview....the vibe comment was his only saving moment...

  • Comment removed

  • good call. great show!

  • The end of this video is hilarious.... I just watched it like 10 times in a row. When Bob says "you brought the vibe man" and Trey reacts I literally can't help but LOL every time I see it. HaHaHa!

    Boogie on...

  • ha the greatest line is when bob says, you brought the vibe man.

  • Pleasure's mine.

  • That's funny. Bob Weir plays 25,000 concerts and the moderator is telling him how to reposition the microphone to get rid of feedback... as if he just doesn't recognize the difference between a poor mix and bad mic placement... good grief

  • I was at that show , Bob said quote on quote " It nice to be here at the Garden State " when Phil interupted Bob and said, " uh Bob we're in Connecticut"

  • I love the way the interviewer tries to give Weir advice on how to prevent a microphone from feeding back from a monitor. Maybe he had some guitar tips to share as well ...

  • whoa! I actually just looked up the show that trey went to and bobby was right they've got a dicks picks of it, and it's a great show too

  • that rocks wat volume dicks pix is it

  • It's vol. 6

  • I have that one too.

  • I Love Bob Weir Period!

  • funny !

  • imagin if trey never went to that concert?

  • All our Forums are cool! Last Friday we had Bob Saget, Mo Rocca, Nancy Giles and Peter Sagal. It was rediculously funny. Watch for some vids in the near future.

  • of course the only cool ct forum has to happen 6 months after i leave ct to go to VT for college. it woulda been AWESOME to be there

  • I don't think you know how many Phish fans would like to see more of this.

  • Hmm, how much cash do you have? :-) I have A LOT of video to get posted. I will do my best to satisfy the Phish fans. Check out the other CTFORUM vinds in the mean time.

  • bobby to trey: you brought the vibe, man

  • this is very cool. where can I see more of this

  • more? when is this from?

  • There will be more...I just need to get on it. This is from November 2001.
