The way I see it is that Zero transferred himself to a new body after this, and then later Dr. Weil finds this one and turns it into Omega Zero in the MMZ series. Makes a bit more sense than magical auto-repair.
Remember, it is a videogame, if the creator wants zero to be alive more longer, he will be alive XD and it doesn´t matter how he "revive" in the X6, only play the videogame and enjoy XD

i am just resistant to tears or sadness on this. I really dont get it he says im gonna die but talks for ten damn minutes then dies very awkwardly =S. I guess for me i have sadder endings. Like CoD4 when i first beat the game or the betrayal in CoD MW2 oh and WaW was pretty sad at times

I've read that X6 made a big discrepancy within the canon Keiji imagined, but he edited some of Megaman Zero story to compensate. I don't know the details tho.

@Tython82 I support this theory, even more so if you consider that Weil in the Zero series even states that his body was fitted to be immortal and that he created Reploids. With Zero being Wily's creation, the VERY first Reploid, it could be well-argued that Wily is Weil and that he did all the repairs; and maybe he kept bringing Sigma back in order to draw out the "Zero Virus" and awaken the True Zero.
@Dracula9AntiChapel Actually Weil's name is a mistranslation his original name is Vile but since that name was already used in the MMX series that changed it slightly, actually if you pronounce weils name with a German accent it sounds like vile. Also the current and most popular theory on the Wily is still alive is the whole thing with Isoc just look at all the videos that he and Zero is in and you will see that Isoc becomes really happy when Zero does things that X couldn't.

It could work if supported by the right evidence, but the part where Isoc essentially tells him to die doesn't sound like something Wily would say. Well the original creator of Megaman X actually intended the story to end in Megaman X5, but another creator wanted to continue the story. I forgot there names, but you could look it up.That's why the plot in Megaman X6 is a bit odd from the rest.

Honestly, this game was so bad - in part because a scene like this should have been animated, like in X4. Especially since this was initially meant to be the last MMX game, period.

Zero figures out his origins in this scene, and in such learns that he was the original robot to carry the virus Reploids are machines copied off of X's design. The virus was to infect and destroy X. Since reploids are based off of X, the virus effects them too. The virus was expelled from Zero's body in the fight with Sigma before X1, but Zero thinks he is the sole carrier, and so must die for peace.

I love this ending... Not because I hate Zero or anything, but because it is so emotional... They really shouldn't have continued with X6 and on. You can tell that it was intended to go to the Zero series now.

if i remember in x6 zero went to sleep in a capsule for many years for restore himself and in megaman zero he is found in a capsule so maybe capcom tried to unite the story from x6 to zero series........but x 5 is the end in the manga after all

Well the original creator of Megaman X actually intended the story to end in Megaman X5, but another creator wanted to continue the story. I forgot there names, but you could look it up.That's why the plot in Megaman X6 is a bit odd from the rest.

love how people complain that X5 and X6 arent animated like previous versions. but people that played X4 complained at how sucky the animation was ( well the english voice acting ruined it more or less) but hey good news! capcom decided to hire voice actors that spoke english properly in X8 so the animation scenes are pretty damn neat (3D is always cool) Im sure X9 will follow this trend!
side note- Zero thinking about Iris b4 he dies very sad! hope she gets revived, hell everyone else has..

You guys don't seem to understand. Capcom just needed to let Zero life on in X6, because else the whole Megaman Zero series will be ruined.
You guys probably think the guy you played with during the Megaman Zero series IS Zero, but it's actually a copy of him. The true Zero was Omega. And if Zero died, Omega could have never existed.

..Think happy thoughts... Think of how this was supposed to be the end! Did Capcom really need to continue on after this? They achieved a crowd of happy and yet sad fans... I prefer the angst and drama of Zero dying than "Oh he's back again." It was cool for X2, but after that it was unnecessary.

@prjibaro1 This is explained badly by the manuals and games, but the basic gist of it is this:
Zero figures out his origins in this scene, and in such learns that he was the original robot to carry the virus Reploids are machines copied off of X's design. The virus was to infect and destroy X. Since reploids are based off of X, the virus effects them too. The virus was expelled from Zero's body in the fight with Sigma before X1, but Zero thinks he is the sole carrier, and so must die for peace.

@UmbraMooh Well remember in I think Power Battle or Power Fighters, Bass sees Zero already finished, just not activated and Wily says it's his greatest creation or something like that, which would imply he's still focused on destroying Megaman, and my point is still that Wily didn't know Megaman X was being created so why would Zero have been created to destroy a robot he knows nothing about? @.@

CAPCOM made such a nice character, but he shouldn't have died, everyone liked him more than X. Zero always dies just to save X. X sucks dick.

if i remember in x6 zero went to sleep in a capsule for many years for restore himself and in megaman zero he is found in a capsule so maybe capcom tried to unite the story from x6 to zero series........but x 5 is the end in the manga after all
