XFX 5850 is a decent card if the drivers would work correctly. Sending my back to XFX. I'm without my power card now. Using a EVGA Nvidia back now. Nvidia has way better drivers anyways.

I have a question i hope you can help me with. My corsair 650w power supply only has 2 6 pin connectors and i need 2 for this 5850 card and i will need 1 for my motherboard. Now i know that it comes with 2 2x4pin to 6 pin adapters with it but then the xfx quick install guide says not to use adapters like that. So im confused if i can or cannot use the adapters on this card can you please help me. sorry i posted this on the wrong video first

@madmike1414 well there are different versions. theres the standard ATI version, the xfx one here , there is a saphire version, etc... you'll have to research for any differences.

I hate it wen companies such as: E-VGA or XFX gives you worse packaging than its stronger brother but its in the same model range. Like with the GTX 480 and 470. Evga gives you plastic packaging and throws the extras on top but with the 480, they package it with some nice cusioning and padding. That really is BS, packaging plays a large roll in the purchase...

how much is the power consumption rising when you overclock it....let say about 800mhz...im using nexus nx 5000 500w psu and q6600 prosessor at 3ghz. i doubted that this psu would run 5850 bit on stock clocks it works fine. am i able to oc it to 800mhz.

two 5770s are about the same price as the 5850, so I would say two 5770s would be the better choice.

It's molex to 6pin.. If you have an older power supply that doesn't have a 6pin PCI-E plug you need to use the adapter to make the card work.. Otherwise don't worry about these.. Molex plugs are useless now with SATA plugs and PCI-E plugs..
