BTW love the piano part in this - more prominent than in the single and very moody, pity the ending didn't run into more of a piano solo. Early PSB like this is sooo much better than the bland/camp stuff they do now.
Absolutely Fabulous :-) ... BUT ... please, put Your attention on the Emulator II Played (apparently) by Neil Tennant ... Can You see any power cable and audio "Jack" ???... I CAN'T ... hmmmm ...So how can that sampler be turned on and really playing live ? What do You think ??? Keyboards played by Chris Lowe seem connected, anyway ... Please, don't fire on me, i'm a PSB fan, too, i'm just noticing ...
For once, I'd really enjoy seeing a REAL synth duo come back to entertain the world. All the unplanned imperfections, etc that would come with the on the fly use of a real synthesizer. I have an Emulator II in storage; let's see it happen!
can you imagine in 1986 how much all that gear cost? back then some synths ran for 5000$ and up..fairlights were amazingly expensive...25 years later most of this stuff could be done with computers....sorta amazing how things have changed...but its something to actually own the gear...its like owning a part of the song and experince.
never seen this intro before its very good ! I agree completely with hemlock about the rawedge sound they used to have but you have to admit they do change the sound of the songs when they are live even today ! Bloody awesome !
Neil Tennant believe it or not was about 30 here.He looked really young and trendy when he first came on the scene. But amazingly 2-3 years later he was severely balding and grey.He seemed to age overnight.
And me controlling and mixing all behind the bank of screens. Wish I still had my DX1 and possibly the Fairlights but couldn't really stand any more hernia operations:-))
I saw this on the tv when i was 18,they had a cool raw edge then,'live' was so much better than the backing tapes and camp-dancers of modern p.s.b's concerts.I suppose it wouldve been boring to watch just the two of them tho'
sony profeel monitors ahead of there time iv'e got 1 kx20psi if u lok on ebay , remember watching this , it's on here but this is full version thank you mmusicool it's the most insprational song ever written.
fairlights back then were 70.000$ i cant see it on here but i know they used it...emulator II+ was not cheap either..

immortalharneil 1 year ago
Wow, pritty much all the synths you would ever need, Emu-emulator, Yamaha DX-1 and a Fairlight CMI. Just add a Roland Jupiter 8 and a Moog :)
