  • fairlights back then were 70.000$ i cant see it on here but i know they used it...emulator II+ was not cheap either..

  • Incredible live performance ah the days when musicians had talent.

  • BTW love the piano part in this - more prominent than in the single and very moody, pity the ending didn't run into more of a piano solo. Early PSB like this is sooo much better than the bland/camp stuff they do now.

  • If you look on the HD version posted by Hollywoodgoesfrankie you CAN see 3 cables connected to the Emulator :)

  • Absolutely Fabulous :-) ... BUT ... please, put Your attention on the Emulator II Played (apparently) by Neil Tennant ... Can You see any power cable and audio "Jack" ???... I CAN'T ... hmmmm ...So how can that sampler be turned on and really playing live ? What do You think ??? Keyboards played by Chris Lowe seem connected, anyway ... Please, don't fire on me, i'm a PSB fan, too, i'm just noticing ...

  • For once, I'd really enjoy seeing a REAL synth duo come back to entertain the world. All the unplanned imperfections, etc that would come with the on the fly use of a real synthesizer. I have an Emulator II in storage; let's see it happen!

  • Great gear and a wonderful performance - doesn't get any better than this!

  • can you imagine in 1986 how much all that gear cost? back then some synths ran for 5000$ and up..fairlights were amazingly expensive...25 years later most of this stuff could be done with computers....sorta amazing how things have changed...but its something to actually own the gear...its like owning a part of the song and experince.

  • magnifico.

    80tas desde chile.

  • INCREDIBLE.

WHEN PETSHOPBOYS GO TO MAKE A TOUR PLAYING INSTRUMENTS LIKE IN THIS TV PERFORMANCE?.

  • am i the only one who noticed the singer is always slapping his thigh with his hand?

  • Nice one, been looking for this for ages. I remember watching it when it was on Tv. We need the OGWT back

  • WHAT VERSION IS???

  • @melodyhunter83 Whatever version it is, its far superior to the commercial release.

  • never seen this intro before its very good ! I agree completely with hemlock about the rawedge sound they used to have but you have to admit they do change the sound of the songs when they are live even today ! Bloody awesome !

  • Neil Tennant believe it or not was about 30 here.He looked really young and trendy when he first came on the scene. But amazingly 2-3 years later he was severely balding and grey.He seemed to age overnight.

  • This is one of the coolest things ive ever seen

  • uhhmmm the DX1!!!

  • Great live version!!!

  • Yamaha DX1!!!, 2 x Fairlight, and one Emulator 2.. doesnt get better than this :D

  • And me controlling and mixing all behind the bank of screens. Wish I still had my DX1 and possibly the Fairlights but couldn't really stand any more hernia operations:-))

  • Classic DX 1. The real synth of the 80's

  • Wow, pritty much all the synths you would ever need, Emu-emulator, Yamaha DX-1 and a Fairlight CMI. Just add a Roland Jupiter 8 and a Moog :)

  • Had those and more also but didn't use on these tracks that night.

  • wooh both of them are on the keybord

  • =) I love pet shop boys

  • This song is extreme hard!!!!! I remember my 15 years old in 1986. This group the best. Thanks for posting.

  • This one is what I've been looking for. In there element and doing it like its supposed to be done.

    e

  • Awesome video and great song.

  • LOVE this early Live performance! Takes courage to be on stage and singing and playing Live at that stage in your career!

  • 1.27 love it when he goes out of key bless him

  • WOW thanks for posting !!!!

  • I saw this on the tv when i was 18,they had a cool raw edge then,'live' was so much better than the backing tapes and camp-dancers of modern p.s.b's concerts.I suppose it wouldve been boring to watch just the two of them tho'

  • I love this song. Neil look so young in this video.

  • sony profeel monitors ahead of there time iv'e got 1 kx20psi if u lok on ebay , remember watching this , it's on here but this is full version thank you mmusicool it's the most insprational song ever written.
