And thats why it has worked oh so well in Europe. Oh Wait! IT HASN'T. Are you going to let the government say what medical procedure you do or don't need. Look at VA Hospitals. Those are Government paid hospitals, But they are having a hard enough time treating the patients they do have and they only cater to veterans. Cheaper more affordable health care is the ONLY way to go. Free healthcare dose NOT cover everyone only the lucky few that can hold out.
And privated health care covers only those who can afford it! The US is ranked 47th in overall performance of healthcare systems behind most European countries. We have a higher infant mortality rate and shorter life expectancy. If everyone had healthcare, we would pay less, because right now we are paying for our own coverage and the coverage of the uninsured.
I would rather have privated health care and be treated almost immediately rather than have free health care and hhave to wait 6 months for a life saving procedure that I need now. Free health care has been tried here andseveral other countries it failed miserably. Free healthcare hospitals are fithly and unsanitary because they are underfunded and cant afford to sterilize there hospital rooms. You are several more times likely to die from a simple infection in a free healthcare system.
This is the exact reason why people from all over the world come over here to have there medical work done. It's so bad people over in Europe are pulling there own teeth because they cant wait the hower many ludacrisly long months it takes to get adentist appointment. Di you know that an abcessed tooth can kill you. Gov. paid healthcare will give you the cheapest possible procedure that might MIGHT improve your condition rather than the one more expensive sure fire treatment.

Communable diseases are for more likely to spread in afree healthcare hospital than they are to be prevented, Diseases like aids, HIV, hepatitis, etc. Because they are so underfunded that they can not perform proper maintainance. Well, when I worked at a technical school the majority of my students were without health insurance because they couldn't afford it. These were people working hard to better themselves, but, if they got seriously ill, they'd be ruined financially. What should we do about them?
Also, you assume I'm for Clinton's health care plan. What I asked Fred was what HIS plan was. If privatization is HIS plan what are the specifics? Will poor children be covered? Will students? Will people now denied due to previous illness be covered? If so, how? If not, what will we do with them? Right now, people without insurance often go to the emergency room. I now work in health care and see it all the time. It costs us all. What are we going to do?

Unless you want to live in a country where a significant number of children, and working people will be without health care (I don't), we need to reform the system. Yeah, because the hospitals are SOOOO empty right now. How about all those people who can't afford to pay for the ER so they just don't go? They can't pay for necessary medical procedures, so they don't go and DIE. If we had free medical care, people would take advantage of PREVENTATIVE CARE and thus would not need to wait until they needed surgery.

Those are Government paid hospitals, But they are having a hard enough time treating the patients they do have and they only cater to veterans. Cheaper more affordable health care is the ONLY way to go. Free healthcare dose NOT cover everyone only the lucky few that can hold out.

And privated health care covers only those who can afford it! The US is ranked 47th in overall performance of healthcare systems behind most European countries. We have a higher infant mortality rate and shorter life expectancy. If everyone had healthcare, we would pay less, because right now we are paying for our own coverage and the coverage of the uninsured.

I would rather have privated health care and be treated almost immediately rather than have free health care and hhave to wait 6 months for a life saving procedure that I need now. Free health care has been tried here andseveral other countries it failed miserably. Free healthcare hospitals are fithly and unsanitary because they are underfunded and cant afford to sterilize there hospital rooms. You are several more times likely to die from a simple infection in a free healthcare system.

This is the exact reason why people from all over the world come over here to have there medical work done. It's so bad people over in Europe are pulling there own teeth because they cant wait the hower many ludacrisly long months it takes to get adentist appointment. Di you know that an abcessed tooth can kill you. Gov. paid healthcare will give you the cheapest possible procedure that might MIGHT improve your condition rather than the one more expensive sure fire treatment.

Jump is right, the quality of "FREE" healthcare is assinine. Communable diseases are for more likely to spread in afree healthcare hospital than they are to be prevented, Diseases like aids, HIV, hepatitis, etc. Because they are so underfunded that they can not perform proper maintainance. If free health care became dominant we would see a drastic decline in skilled doctors because the number 2 reason why most people become doctors is money.

Not necessarily because there understaffed but because they are government run and grosely underfunded. No sane person would want the government to control the quality of thee health care. All the things that maggot and jump have said are fine for those of us who can afford healthcare, but there are 46 million Americans who cannot. We need to ensure that EVERYONE can get to the hospital when they need it. People are dying of simple infections and communicable diseases OUTSIDE of the hospitals because they can't afford it. What you guys say would be poor healthcare (which I do not believe) would be better than no healthcare.

Well, when I worked at a technical school the majority of my students were without health insurance because they couldn't afford it. These were people working hard to better themselves, but, if they got seriously ill, they'd be ruined financially. What should we do about them?

Also, you assume I'm for Clinton's health care plan. What I asked Fred was what HIS plan was. If privatization is HIS plan what are the specifics? Will poor children be covered? Will students? Will people now denied due to previous illness be covered? If so, how? If not, what will we do with them? Right now, people without insurance often go to the emergency room. I now work in health care and see it all the time. It costs us all. What are we going to do?

I didn't say it did. What I'm saying is that we need to face reality. Unless you want to live in a country where a significant number of children, and working people will be without health care (I don't), we need to reform the system. Plus, the constitution says nothing about providing education (something else that needs to be reformed) either, but we need an educated populace in order to compete economically and have a participatory republic.
