i fully agree and to have read "bessie" and it shatters any myths that have been told about smith

Bessie Smith was never turned away by a white hospital, as you say. That was a made-up story. If you want to learn what really happened, read a book called "Bessie" by yours truly. Sorry, I don't mean to make this a plug, but these myths regarding Bessie need to be shattered.
