@1972FordF150 They rtv it from the factory, I think... anyhow it started leaking near the flywheel end and right above the flex section of the exhaust, it smelled of hot and/or burning oil all the time cause of it and smoked sometimes...... got tired of it lol.
@1972FordF150 When I read the factory manual and alldata, it seems they did. RTV isnt bad if you use it right. I use red rtv to make gaskets for small engines with no leaks if you do it correctly. They just smeared it on and shoved the pan on there tight. I snug it lightly and let the rtv start to cure for a while then tighten. Would have done it with this but oil kept dripping off the crank and parts so I just threw a gasket on her. Works good!
