Meh, I think the romance is plainly better with male shepard. "Kick ass chick" and "hot lesbian romance" are done to death these days. Its tacky and annoying as hell.

Plus female Shepards voice acting is annoying to me.

I feel like the creators over at Mass Effect have, in many ways, set up Liara to be the big romance for the entire series. She's the only character you can 'romance' in all three games. And maybe I'm biased, but I also feel like the Shepard/Liara relationship is the most well-written of all the other choices. Who knows, what will happen in the third game (fingers crossed for little blue babies), but I really can't wait.

Well, I happen to be a lesbian but I don't even put myself in the shoes of my Shepard. My life isn't as interesting as the Shepard I have crafted a backstory for. I find playing as a self insert boring. I also prefer lesbian relationships because they are rare in all entertainment mediums. Boy gets girl...yeah, that's pretty old.

Debatable, but understandable.

The romance in the game is by far well crafter than any other game though, which is why i love it.

@rynluna I find it kind of interesting that while you are far from being the first lesbian I have seen during my web browsing I don't think I have ever met a gay dude... I mean, one that I would actually know he's gay.

Btw, I ALWAYS am very immersive in my video games. When I tried creating an evil character in Fable and make choices I would never have made, I felt bad with myself and just couldn't do it! Usually, I have a single "canon" storyline and character I play as every time in each RPG.

@rynluna Hell, i'm a gay man and I still love this romance. It's honestly the only one that feels natural, even to the end sex scene. She is the only character that feels real and has a real personality to her, which is why I am so obsessed with this relationship, even writing my own FanFic about it. That and couldn't stand Mark Meer's voice. Too dull and droll. My guns had more personality than him. lol

@ConsurgoTitanus Initially I probably did it because of the lesbian scenes, but I really grew to like Liara. Now she's one of my all-time favorite ME characters(along with Garrus and Wrex) and all but one of my femsheps romanced her.

As to putting myself into the shoes of Shepard. I never really thought of Shepard as 'me' when I played manshep. On femshep that would've been even harder. I like to think of my sheps as different characters with their own personalities.
