you did good kid. just need to practice a few of those high notes, and transitions to the high notes.but as far as the guitar goes you got mad skill, keep on strumming st st strumming.
Hey. Me and my band have done a cover of this. If you go on my video uploads you'll find it or alternitavly type in Josh's Loft - Hey Ya (Acoustic cover) - Outkast on the search bar :D
i thought you did a pretty decent job here, Josh. pitchy in places, but it's still a fun vid. i have not heard matt weddle's version yet, but i do know and like the Outkast version.
Good cover of Hey-ya man, good singing too just need more practice on the vocals. Maybe you should get a few singing lessons "i take them when i can afford them" im sure you can find somebody were ever you live that would be a good vocal teacher. And man just ignore the idiots who post negative crap, no matter how good you are there is always gana be some idiots. Keep up the good work.
this is my favorite acoustic hey ya cover. your voice might not be as practiced as mat weddle but i think you have a nicer tone of voice. great work man, keep it up!
Thank you very much for that accurate review! I certainly need to take these recordings a little more seriously if I expect people to enjoy them. Thank you for the kind words.
Really cool man, I liked your version a lot. It really come together nice. Could you post the chords you used, if you are willing to share. I am just starting out, and am having trouble spotting some of them. Thanks a lot I would really appreciate it.
ummm...no, a capo wouldn't. Notice the Emaj (open). I'd like you to play THAT chord with a capo. Sure, you can play an Emaj, but not THAT Emaj. Educate yo-self!
by that comment i meant, you should play with a capo because thats how matt does it in his real version. and don't worry, im quite good on those chords.
I wasn't trying to do it how matt does it. Just like matt doesn't try to do it how Outkast did it. That's what makes a good cover, something that can take someone else's song and express it in your own unique way. Look at all the other videos on here, people trying to do the same thing as matt. There are only a few people that take different spins, and that takes creativity and originality.
very very cool video.one of my favorite song check out my cover see if you guys like it, i dont like to ruin a good song so if its bad im taking it off. LET ME KNOW!

Saxaphone would be better for a thinning left hander obviously. Well done

Thanks pappachese! I definitely appreciate honest and constructive criticism. Voice lessons are in the back of my mind...

this was more painful that ALL the other 'hey ya' covers. Holy crap, write a song already, or a least learn the right chords!
