you can get the ranger armor that isnt affiliated with the ncr in the lonesome road DLC. its in a barracks in the first town you come across. make sure your lock picking skill is maxed out. it can be repaired with ncr ranger armor or any metal armor if you have the jury rigger perk

To find the NCR Ranger armor, you have to become Idolized by the NCR. After doing so many quests for them and those affiliated with NCR, you will be given the keys to a NCR safe house close the Black Mountain. Inside the safehouse there will be one set of the NCR Ranger armor. thumbs up so everyone can see!

@CirocFiend or theres an ncr camp on the right of the map i forget what its called fort something theres an ncr sniper sitting up away from everyone if you crouch with a good eneough and you use a silenced gun like the ratslayer you can kill him without making the ncr hate you then come back later and kill him over and over again to get caps from his armor it also works with the 2 guards behind the gunrunners and theres 1 in the building but they have combat armor
