You know you can dual boot xp and win7? Install XP and then win7. You didn't have to understand the libraries to work with win7. Just don't use it. For example I like to put my latest camera photos on the desktop so i can burn them later - I add those folders to the library so they can "look" like inside the pictures folder. I like to keep personal folders in the desktop so I don't have to look for them. I'm not organized so libraries are good for me. The same goes to docs and music.
THink of widows media player as a music library. Your mp3 are scattered all over your disk but you can see them (songs) all at once and in the same place using windows media player, right? Libraries do pretty much the same thing.
Sometimes we're short on time and patience and we kick everything that doesn't work the same and fast way we were used to like XP for you. If you manage to dual boot try after try you'll get used to win7 while having your favorite XP OS in the same disk.
Is there a way to completely remove the libraries function?

Libraries: one more workaround for people too stupid to use Explorer.

More like....Libraries - One more way Windows 7 makes your PC more confusing and frustrating.
I went back to Windows XP because I couldn't figure out the Libraries feature.

You went back to XP because you couldn't figure out an incredibly simple (and optional) feature?
You do realize that Win7 also has the traditional XP file explorer, right?
I mean, wow.
