Well said & well put!!! Studios today are more interseted in filling their coffers than creating true art. Films like this were made by people who loved what they were doing & who weren't constantly thinking of "box office" and "the bottom line". A person has to LOVE art (film, music, Shakespeare, etc) to create a masterpiece like this!
The voice of King Henty (Gielgud) reverberating in the empty stone hall makes him all the more majestic, but the banter between Falstaff and Prince Hal is out of synch with their lip movements, unlike the King's lines. This flaw surely can't have been deliberate.
The sound editing is sheer music!
