  • Why can't you rotate further? Are you in a wheelchair with the brakes on?

  • @ArcanePath360 Try rotating, while not moving your feet...

  • @mrseblog The imagining of what you said about rotating without moving your feet had me in stitches. Thank you.

  • A question, when i record with my 550D why is it so blurry all the time? Some settings wrong? Please help i dont know what to do

  • @DailymusicMedia Is it out of focus? That, or... make sure it's on Auto mode, so that it sets the exposure for you!

  • I was too cheap to buy the new lenses i just brought the body because i have a 450d :D lol....

  • @shawty546 A good lens costs only half the price of the body! £300 will get you a good prime :)

  • @mrseblog Are you serious? Can you tell me where specifically?

  • @shawty546 Look up the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 and Sigma 10-20mm lenses. Both are about £300.

  • I need to buy a proper mic for my camera, I have used music in all my videos so far :P

  • looks pretty grainny.. hmm not good

  • @robblac You're on YouTube, where it compresses the hell out of a video.

    It's an amazing camera.

  • Great test vid, I'm thinking of buying a 550D to condense both my broken Flip and broken Rebel XT into one nice package. Mostly I would just use it to shoot vlogs.

On thing though, I've read that a lot of people have problems with the audio, and they complain about the Auto Gain Compensation. I don't know what exactly that is, but do you find yourself having problems with it?

  • @ObviouslyBenHughes Due to a lack of auto-focus (and a way to see yourself), it's probably not a great vlog camera!

The audio gain thing is only a problem if you use a separate microphone. The built-in one is pretty good, as long as you use it indoors. If you use it outside, you'll want an external mic... and then you need to look into ways of cancelling the auto audio gain... which is a pain, for sure.

  • The microphone appears to be very sensitive to wind, anyway to prevent the audio distortion?

  • @ramaslamma That's the built-in microphone! There's no way to mitigate that on the camera (though you could probably do something in post-processing).

Solution is to buy a proper microphone.

  • Your voice mrseblog reminds me of the legendary Martin Tyler. Just start calling out football player's names and you'll have another career. Entirely a compliment lol. Cheers from the USA.

  • @TemplarReturns Thanks! I have no idea who he is, but I'm going to check it out now :)

  • your panning seems smooth.... what's the SD card you're using if you don't mind?

  • @criticaltinker It's a class 6 Transcend card -- cheap and cheerful!

  • @mrseblog : is it the same smoothness if you use 1080p?

  • @criticaltinker Hum... well, you get half the frames per second, so it's a little less smooth. It really depends how slowly you pan :) Films you see at the cinema are the same FPS (25).

  • @mrseblog : do you think a Class 10 SDHC or SDXC cards will help?

  • @criticaltinker There's no need for them, at least on the 550D :)

  • jesus christ, beautiful colours

  • @Ranoko123 The beauty of south England!

  • does it make a weird sound when u zoom or when u focus?

  • @Kayun91 If you 'auto' focus, yes. Just turning the focus ring doesn't create any special noise though.

  • looks like wide angle

  • Hello.. I need your help as I want to make a film & I want to buy the Canon EOS 550D camera but I've heard that it has some disadvantages like it gets noisy when the ISO increases and that it's not good with camera movements like panning or tilting. I saw your video & I liked it a lot & i couldn't see any problems.. so can u please tell me what problems did u have & how u tried to overcome them ??

  • @mayyezayed Heya!

I haven't noticed any real problems. Sure it gets noisy at 3200/6400 ISO... but what can you expect?! :)

You have slightly less control in 'full manual' mode I think (than the 5D), but enough to work with. If you want to do professional work I would get the 5D though I think...

  • :O oh oh nice qwali

  • human tripod LOOL! nice man

  • Hi, I'm thinking of getting this camera. What do you use the 18mp for? Do you print out large posters? Also, If I took a normal size photo with 14mp and same photo and size with 18mp, will I see a difference and same with HD movie quality but 720 vs 1080 and the sceen size is 13".

Will my photos be as good quality as the HD movie quality?

    Cool.

  • @BoobaKuba09 Hm, generally, more pixels are better. You can crop more aggressively, if necessary, while still maintaining 'enough' resolution for printing.

You wouldn't see a difference on a normal-sized photo -- at least not from the resolution itself. But remember that the 550D's sensor is BETTER than the predecessors. It's not just more pixels -- it's other things too :)

  • Ah ok. Because I want the best detail in my photos to capture what I see. But I'm still going to edit my shots through photoshop and apature. Is the Canons sensor better then the Pentax K7?
