since you hair is already so dark you should have dyed it blond or a really light brown frist. then rise and put in the blue color.

when charlie did his hair he already had light colored hair so the dye took more easily.

You can't dye black hair any colour... You can only dye your hair darker. If you have dark hair, you have to pre-lighten.

And if you look at the box, it tells you what colour you can expect to end up with according to your current hair colour.

@EllysaE not necessarily, the developer is a mild bleach that at minimum lightens the hair by 2 levels before depositing the new color on. So while it isn't as bright as it can be, it will change. 20 volume developer lightens by 2 shades, 30 vol by 3, 40 vol by 4.. And so on... It used to stop at 40 volume but now I've seen it go up to 80! That is ridiculously unsafe though. Anyway, just a little lesson from a guy :oP

i haven't got any ways of getting the stains off other than time, soap and water, but if you ever plan on dying your hair again put lotion or vaseline around your hairline beforehand. works for me every time.

Normally I just wait although to speed it up you could use conditioner (yes on your face) and my mum says that she would think a vinegar and baking soda paste scrub your face with that. I dye my hair a lot so that happens a bunch. teehee. Hope that helps!

hair dye tends to not come off skin... it's sorta designed to stick there.... but if you scrub hard enough and rub the skin off a bit should help... i actually dyed my hair blue a while back.... if you want it to show more, you need to bleach your hair first, and then dye it. (generally some sort of bleach is included with the dye; i used a company called Splat)

of course, this is probabl more than you wanted/needed to know about dyeing your hair considering your furstration but oh well

i have been on the tinterweb and found these suggestions for getting hair dye off yr skin / face.

- wet cotton wool pads, dipped into an ashtray, i.e. use the ash

- toothpaste and baking soda. leave on for a min or two and rinse. lots of people suggested toothpaste.

- baking soda with dishwashing liquid
