  • No offense, but what ever you're doing with your lips can you stop?! They're abnormally HUGE! It doesn't look good at all. It looks like you're suffering from an allergic reaction to something you ate. Really...

I think you're beautiful w/out puffing up your lips with whatever you use. :(

  • @midnull I'm pretty sure that's natural for her. She made a video on it ... I think. Dunno, I could be wrong

  • You know if your thumb is up, it means good luck among ppl from Osaka. I've grown up in Osaka and lived there for 22 years tho... I think the expression is really old-fashioned. I remember one day my father used thumb up as it meant "a man".

  • You mean that this means "None of my business?"

  • Little finger(pinky) or middle finger raising here in Brazil is considered not polite. I think thumb up it´s universal gesture and means ok ,allright (ii-yo ).I like your videos ´cause I learn Japanese language a lot..And you are very pretty (utsukushii)!!!

  • What if I make a hang loose gesture (pinky and thumb)?

  • yay! NEW GESTURES. TSANK YOUH!! >:D

  • I am confused I thought the pinky up was referring to men and the thumb up was referring to women.

  • thank you for your explainations,,those gestures are too cute

  • I am so mad with this video because I went to my boss and told him in Japanese the same shit this girl says about your wife being pregnant as an excuse not to go to work. But, my boss fired me because my boss didn't understand me. My boss says I am acting weird lately because I am using Japanese gestures. Sincerely, Charlie Sheen.

  • Arigato for the gestures, they were very useful for me when I was talking to my senpai at work, he still doesn't understand the fact that my Japanese is horrible :P

  • Hola chica japonesa, thanks for the interesting japanese gestures.

  • wow i liked this video, first time i've seen it. the girl is also very pretty.

  • Yo, I'm subscribing right now. My girl teaching me the same things but I haven't learned these yet.

  • LOL at the "my wife is pregnant" trick xD

  • the sumimasen gesture looks like 'the robot' dance. lol

  • haha i will definately use that in Japan (coz you asked and all...) すみません、すみません...

  • i wanna go to japan but im broke and need to learn Japanese. =(

  • @DeaNovo

Take a huge loan and flee the country you're in to Tokyo or other prefered destination, study at a language-school > Profit.

  • can I have yo number?

  • I like your teaching skills, very nice! Good teachers always repeat and then repeat one more time at the end to make sure it sticks to your students. I would've been a much better disciplined student in high school, if I had a good teacher like you.

  • Thanks for teaching us, good job.

  • you have great lips...good job

  • Your funny !

  • こんにちは!

  • ROFL LOL at 1:05 ! The hand gestures!

  • arigatou

  • i heard about the thumb and pinkie finger gestures, but if they wear a ring on those fingers could it mean they have a boyfriend/girlfriend ?

like here in America if a man/woman wear a ring on their left hand ring finger it gestures as being unavailable to date (in most cases).

the 'excuse me' gesture is new to me.... i wonder if i'll be able to use it...

    good video !!

  • ROFL

  • When I want to go through a crowd and I'm tired and not thinking too clearly, I just put my hands together close to my chest so that my fingers are pointing away from me and push my hands to a half-distance away from me while wearing a 'please excuse me' face. Sometimes when I forget to wear the face because I'm so tired, or they just don't move, I wiggle my hands from side-to-side to be a little clearer in meaning. Like: 'please move aside.'

    :)

  • just out of curiosity, why don't you use 手振り instead of ジェスチャー in your title? Is ジェスチャー commonly used? I've never heard it before.

I love the Japanese language, but it's unfortunate that there is so much 和製英語...it's not pretty at all. Except for some specific expressions or words that pertain to ideas or concepts that are foreign, Japanese people should stick to Japanese words, they sound so much better

  • @beeceebee1 I like Japanese too, but people like what's "foreign" to them! lol - or do you want Japanese people to tell you stop speaking Japanese because you sound better in English to them? (Assuming English is your first language)

  • @xAyako91x

Sure, people like what's foreign to them, but liking and indulging in foreign cultures shouldn't be done at the price of perverting you own language and identity

  • @beeceebee1 Well, I respect your opinion.. but I have mine - personally I got offended when you said "they sound so much better" I like the sound of Japanese words as well, but I strongly disagree that they're "perverting" their language/identity, and I think you have no right to judge them... There are SO MANY foreign words have been adapted into everyday English. Ex. hamburger is a German term I believe. But NO ONE thinks of Germany when they say it, they think of McDonalds! lol

  • @xAyako91x

There's a huge difference between taking a word like Hamburger that's a foreign invention and concept, and for which Japanese language has no equivalent, and using a Japanized pronunciation of "gesture" (and countless others) when there's a perfectly suitable word for "gesture" in Japanese

  • @beeceebee1 Seriously just drop it. Maybe hamburger = bad example, but almost every language mixes vocab when I'm sure the majority of them have a word for them in their own language... I honestly don't care and don't think it makes any difference when the meaning/point is understood. It's just a matter of opinion, use whichever YOU like best. Bye now.

  • @xAyako91x

wtf just drop it? You're the one who responded to my original comment. I simply stated all along my opinion, that learning languages is fine, borrowing new concepts and ideas is fine, but you don't need to start bastardizing words when your language already contains perfectly suitable words for those. Now you can either go back to your fantasy manga world or keep responding to my comments to tell me I'm wrong and to drop it. Cheers.

  • i love your videos! <3

  • LOL I'd feel like an idiot doing those gestures, I'd rather just be myself. Japanese from my experience, find you much more interesting when you use western traits and gestures rather than trying to japasize yourself (if thats even a word! lol!) I mean I totally agree with the guy that said when J-girls become americanized they are ruined, the whole japanese part of them it taken away and they are as interesting anymore. that counts for foreigners in japan too trying to be Japanese, just be YOU.

  • I still dont understand how a baby finger symbolizes a woman..wakranai yo...

  • "Sumimasen-Face" LOL

  • HOLY FUCKING LIPS BATMAN!!!

  • You are now learning japanese gestures with Jaws! lmao

  • u are beautiful!!

  • you have big lips

  • all the better to s....

    ;)

  • honmani

  • once japanese girls get americanized they are ruined

  • i am japanese and i didnt even know thumb up means men. Honestly, ive never seen it. its probably only in kansai.

  • I'm not Japanese, but I've lived in Tokyo a long time. I would say it is mostly guys over 60 who use this now with other guys. I always thought it was an oyaji thing. I used to see it often in the Sento and places like that.

  • Interesting... I'll need to learn those since I want to see Japan someday.

    Thanks

  • when someone gives you the peace sign, but you see the front of their hand, instead of their palm, is that negative/rude?

  • actually, in my Japanese class we were taught that the middle finger in sign language means brother. yeah....

  • garfrend! lol

  • So if they throw up the middle finger does that mean you bi or your dating a transsexual lol sorry

    that stupid i apologize lol

  • This video was posted on my birthday!

    Thanks for the info! XD

  • love this video! how r u dayo

  • You are super funny. Really like your vids. I didn't know those gestures, so i learnt something today.

  • really cool stuff...tell us more!! going to Japan soon hehehe

  • This is really interesting!

  • it's so cute when you do the "すみませんすみません" waving!! ♥

  • 英語の発音めちゃめちゃうまいね!頑張れ!

  • 2:05 I thought it meant "my wife got bid tits" lol

btw your fingers are long as hell

maybe twice as long as mine

  • I like your lipcolor in this video.

May I ask what color is that and what brand of lipstick your using?

I've been looking for different kinds of nude color lipstick but I can't find any that looks like that (the usual color I see in dorama.), the one you're wearing.

  • 友達はこのビデオを見せてくれました。「来て来て!」の感じの手まねもユーチューブをご覧のみなさんに教えてください!

  • Also you speak very good English! It's so interesting to hear your culture from a Japanese person.

lol I love the part where you say "I'm a Japanese girl" and act all cute. I love the 'kawaii' culture in Japan.

    ありがとうございました

  • You look pretty !

  • Haha my Japanese teacher does that too. I just think they are generally very animated. ^-^

  • Great video. It would also be great if you could add some more Japanese, maybe with English subtitles and create mini dialogues to present the gestures. I look forward to your next one.

  • what are you talking about,c.mon she is beautiful.

  • beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

  • @IauthenticI OMG.... twilight zone episode!!!!!!!!

  • hahahahaha "sumimasen face"...love it!!!!

  • I can't believe I haven't seen this yet. Had me cracking up from the very beginning. "You're teaching everyone THAT?" LOL!

  • I am enjoying your videos! (I also like to say I am a Kansai-jin...only because I lived in Osaka for a bit...I just love the Kansai area.) I hope in the future you can do some videos with Kansai-ben!

Also, just wanted to tell you that I think your English is excellent. You must have studied hard! :)

    Looking forward to more!

  • aww u look pretty in this vid ^^

  • 2:05 hahahaha hilarious.....

good stuff, look forward to seeing more!

  • You have very long fingers.

  • i never knew that pinky and thumbs up thing, that was very interesting. looking forward to your further videos. Are you planning to do any videos at festival times? that would be cool.

  • It doesn't get any more better than this. Japanese lessons from a native of Japan! Woohoo!!

Thanks for your insight. I look forward to more videos.

  • I use the hand chopping gesture all the time! :)

And with my students, I learned that an upraised pinkie finger was also a "let's promise" gesture. They would make a request, I would say "yes" and they would raise their pinkie. To respond you're supposed to wrap your pinkie around their's. Then you've made a promise.

    Do adults do this?

  • I don't do that. But if you want to be like a little "kawaii" girl, you might need to do that... I guess. lol I think that's kid's thing.

  • Comment removed

  • @thatjapanesegirl

That is called a pinky swear that kids do a lot here in the states. Lol

    I love your videos

  • Children in the US do that too. Called a "pinkie swear"

  • @myargonauts

We do that in America, too. It's usually called a "Pinkie Promise," sometimes "Pinkie Swear."

  • Interesting. I didn't know about those gestures. Thanks :)

  • :) Remi-chan and I are planning to do a how to video about some of these gestures to. Yoroshiku:_)

  • I'm looking forward to seeing the video!!

  • Arigato!
