ASALLAMU A3LAYKUM! dear brothers and sisters i hav a big decision i need to make its a football trial in england but i do not know whether i should go or not. i have done salat el-istikhara but i did my dua in english because i dnt know it in arabic, does any1 know if this is allowed? plz respond thanks you very much! Where did you get this opinion? I know that Prophet Muhammad took great care in teaching the Sahaba the dua' of Istikhara but I don't know that it is impermissible to say the dua' in English...
There is an hadith which says: "innamal aamalu bin niyaat". meaning, "All your deeds depends on your intention" so i guess that you have the right intention, inshallah allah will accept it.
O Allah! If in Your knowledge, (this matter) is good for my religion, my livelihood and my affairs; immediate and in the distant, then ordain for me, make it easy for me and bless it for me. And if in Your knolwedge, (this matter) is bad for my religion, my livelihood and my affairs; immediate and in the distant, then turn it away from me, and turn me away from it. And ordain for me the good wherever it be and make me pleased with it.
O Allah! I seek Your guidance (in making a choice) by virtue of Your knowledge, and I seek ability by virtue of Your power, and I ask You of Your great bounty. You have power, I have none. And You know, I know not. You are the Knower of hidden things.
O' Allah! I ask you for the best by Your Mercy and by Your power since You (alone) are the Knower of the Unseen and the Seen, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. So I ask you that you send blessings on Muhammad, the Prophet and his family just as you have sent blessings on Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, since verily You are the Praiseworthy and Glorious.
Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi'ilmika, Wa asta qdiruka bi-qudratika, Wa as'alaka min fadlika al-'azlm Fa-innaka taqdiru Wala aqdiru, Wa ta'lamu Wala a'lamu, Wa anta 'allamu l-ghuyub. Allahumma, in kunta ta'lam anna hadha-l-amra Khairun li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa'aqibati amri Faqdirhu li wa yas-sirhu li thumma barik li Fihi, Wa in kunta ta'lamu anna hadha-lamra shar-run li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa'aqibati amri Fasrif hu anni, was-rif ni anhu. Waqdir li al-khaira haithu kana Thumma ardini bihi.
Asalam Masha Allah ,,very good duaa , Insha Allaj next time try to put the translation of the Dua, so that other can understand..wa jazaaka Allahu kheeran al jannah

do ghusul, make intension to pray 2 rakat, in the end you make a dua and ask Allah whatever you want. and Allah knows best
