States have to cut spending, and do away with laws that make it harder for small businesses to start. Thats the fastest and best thing they can do.
No one likes cutting spending, but I would suggest cutting spending on military functions before social.
And if states can't pay for schools then pass laws to encourage individuals to organize schools, at very least until things get back on track. It's useless to say we can't afford teachers and no you aren't allowed to either.
It's becoming ever more clear that the real villans of the economic downturn are the top 1% of the population who have been making money hand over fist at the expense of everybody else. What can be done to reverse this robbery, short of armed revolt?
They were about to get away with it because they swindled enough people to buy into the fallacy of "trickle down economics". The elite class should right be called the "robber" class.
i wholeheartedly disagree...there should be a 20-25% federal consumption tax while eliminating the federal income tax, specifically for individuals and we have to begin to treat corporations as businesses and not individual persons
i don't see where what i said is what you were saying...because i still think the states should be collecting income taxes just not the federal government...you are saying optional tax and to me that doesn't work because what happens when everyone decides to opt out?
I am glad I have no debt.I buy what I need only. The usery in the bankster system is the real culprit and they need to be stopped.Glorified mobsters are all they are.Our governament needs to live on the minium wage and see what real life for Americans is all about. The majority is not really middle class but live at the near poverty level.Good nutrition is more important than material things.Use cash not the bankster cards.
This James Heintz... I'll just bet he loves to ski here (New Hampshire), vacation here, and buy his big-ticket items here tax-free... but he conveniently ignores NH's *no income or sales tax* status when reasoning what makes "good" local and state government work for *him.*
He probably loves the new camping tax in NH. People just like him, who moved to NH from Taxachusetts, pushed for it.
And I now see that 3 books in the shelf behind Heintz have "MACROECONOMICS" in the title. LOL!
This Keynes Klown is really talking short-term and long-term solutions?
Figures that Heintz would cry for more regulation and not LESS, seeing that he's from Taxachusetts. Where even a Republican governor (Romney!) instituted statewide health insurance. I wonder if he understands how THAT is bankrupting his state?
Mr. Heintz, all you need to learn for a short or long term solution is to drive north for about 40 min. from UMASS Amherst.
With these corporations playing states off against each other, it looks like the U.S. is experiencing a bad case of "internal globalization". Now it knows how the Third World feels.
Every State Should Stop Paying Taxes.

We need to consolidate taxes and have an option NOT to pay them.
Simple and optional. That's a good system regardless what the topic.

You're ad hominem posture fails to refute a single word he said.
Even if what you opine about him is true, it doesn't change the facts.
Taxes need to be raised. It's the most obvious thing in the world. Freedom isn't free, remember?

@thetimman00 Billionaires pay less in taxes than your average middle class person. Just ask Warren Buffet.
