Do you have any idea what marathon running is about on an international scale? It has nothing to do with country rivalries and everything to do with runners working together and supporting other elite runners. Paula (and Kara and many others) are favorites in the USA, UK, and the rest of the world.

Please refrain from tearing down what is a truly globally peaceful sport.

there's no way Goucher is a favourite in the uk after she beat pavey for bronze in Osaka lol.

and looking at the end of the olympic marathon it looked like the british runners only cared about each other when yelling and radcliffe were in tears caring for each other, then Yamauchi, who was a way a head of both, came and spoke to them like she waited for them to finish.

Yes, I momentarily hated Kara when she beat the adorable Jo Pavey for the bronze in Osaka ;-) But after she beat Paula in the GNR, she won me over in her interview and she was lovely when I met her at the Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix!
