  • @randomandrare--A number of country-western songs about Armageddon came out during the Cold War, including "Those Flying Saucers" by the Buchanan Brothers (1947) and "The Great Atomic Power" by the Louvin Brothers (1952).

  • Fred Kirby did the first and, in my opinion, best version of "Atomic Power" in 1946. He seems considerably less enthusiastic about the Super Bomb.

  • I've been trying to find out the name of this song for quite sometime. I'm glad I finally found it. I first heard it back in the late 90's on the PBS program Race For The Super Bomb. If you haven't seen it and enjoy history I highly suggest you watch it. FYI: It is available you youtube

  • "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition."

  • I had to put this in my favorites. I think it's the first Armageddon country song I've ever heard!
