  • they do realize by removing it they lost tons of money i mean comeone spidey coulda fought terrorist maby the red skull or something?

  • @TheMrgoku1985 Cute picure. I wonder how people do stuff like this in the comments. It's such a cute picture. I <3 it. :)

  • I can never forgive al-Qaeda for what they did. Ever.

  • SPIDERMAN DID 9/11

  • Okay removing them in the movies after 9/11 but in old films they have every right to remain, if they delete scenes with the twin towers the next generation will never know what was destroyed.

  • I don't get it. America wants us to remeber the Twin Towers but they take them out of all the movies they appear in.

  • strong! 0_0

  • Looks like a completely different movie than what was shown that May...

  • @WhiteAsylumMind it was but the whole movie had to many twin tower reflections so they had to make the whole movie over again

  • @DorkHX Wow really? What i meant was that this Spider-man seemed a bit more of an action hero on this trailer than what was shown in theaters. I had no idea they had to redo the whole movie.

  • Little did they know "next summer" there would be no twin towers standing

  • Its sad, because they removed the world trade center scene from the televeision version of home alone 2......That was always my favorite scene. I dont see how any of these clips are disrespectful....I think it honors the victims more because we remember how iconic the WTC towers actually were....

  • I remember seeing this when it was attached to Jurassic Park 3. I was so excited to see this movie.

  • if id seen this as a 11 year old - i would have fainted! awsome

  • aww I just read this awesome, and most likely true, explanation of why the towers weren't in the movie.

    tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TooSoon

I'm not plugging some shitty sight. A summary might include, the towers were digitaly removed from the skyline. Sad thing is though, it aloud the terrorist to not only destroy the towers physically, but also in our favorite movies.

  • that is THE best teaser ever in history

  • Even though I don't watch spider man this is a great scene. I love how the twin towers were shining in the sun. It looks cool. I see why they took this part out as I noticed because of the 9/11 thing and sensitivity with people's feelings. They do things for a reason and I sure understand that and except that.

  • anything happened on that day can be easily spotted even when well hid in any movie or show :P One that DOESNT go in that catagory is this movie... and home alone 2

  • i love the twin tower's and everyone who dird that day and those who still are im sorry the way they will be remembered is without rebuilding the towers and making a morgue out of the site that's how weak this country is give to the so called terrorist

  • man, the twin towers wouldve been SO badass would 9/11 not have happened

  • thumbs up if u wish this was a scene in the movie

  • I know this song!!!

  • @Hotters70603XL I admit I was not a fan of the new designs at first, I still would like two twin 1100ft + towers. But after seeing the Discovery Ch "Rebuilding Ground Zero" it's not all that bad. Once its all finished, it should look amazing. "Footprint waterfalls looked nice on TV, I understand it appears depressing though. Tough call, cant build there, its still in many ways a grave to many families. Didn't know about the admission, if most of it goes to victims families (i hope) I dont mind.

  • @Hotters70603XL They were majestic, I was in awe with them when I first went there with my parents in '81. My dad worked briefly in 2WTC in the 80s, then moved to a new location at Wall St right on the East River..Since then everytime I would head to NYC via train or Turnpike, my eyes would become fixated on them. Just glad I had the chance to take many photos of them, the city when they were there. Skyline will never be like it was..even with the new buildings. I admit I -(continue next line)

  • What the heck? Spiderman never did anything that epic in the movie

  • Stupid decision to cut it. While we're at it, let's digitally remove every actor who's ever died from all their films so as not to upset their family. Art is about art, not politics.

  • Meanwhile in 2001

  • What song is that and what are the lyrics (last lines sung)?

  • @ReX342

"Leave You Far Behind" by Lunatic Calm

The lyrics were, "I want...I want to leave you far behind."

  • @GenieBella Thx! I knew I had heard it on soundtracks before. Now I know what it is :D

  • @ReX342

No problem! I recognized it too when I first saw this. :)

  • It's not disrepectful, Like Vicky said this trailer was released in mid summer 2001, immediately pulled on 9/12. The Trade Center was the symbol, the icon of New York City. So many movies it featured in, Posters, if you look at the 70s remake of King Kong, WTC was a big focal figure throughout that movie, espcially the end. Superman, Splash, Men In Black 2, the final scene was scheduled to film at WTC the week of 9/9. TV changed - Law & Order changed the intro removing the towers from the intro

  • This looks more like a cheap tv commercial for a phone or some other gay shit.

  • PS3. This Is Living.

  • This was better than any scene in actual scene in the movie.

  • @car2bam how is this disrespectful? It was a trailer for a big movie before the attacks, then out of respect, the people who made the movie removed it. This shows how much of a New York and American Icon these towers were. Stop being so one track minded..please.

  • you yanks are sensible as a 6 years old girl's pussy

  • I saw the film before (just) its national rollout and by then these scenes had been removed completely, Never seen this before.

  • Wow, getting us used to choppers circulating around the towers.

  • Sickest teaser ever

  • Just one more thing the terrorists took away from us.

  • @DirtSheet989 you spelled terrorists wrong.....correct spelling would be BUSH

  • Trailer was before movie release and before twin towers went down. When they heard of the tragedy they took it out of the movie. They thought people would not go see it if the twin towers were still in it. It is all about making money off the movie.

  • @games4ever71 They removed it out of respect of the victims and their families.

  • @thefloacist How hard is it to understand I meant the same thing. Hello, if they left it in and did not care about the respect, do you think people would pay to see the movie? Obviously not. Ok then.

  • Comment removed

  • whats the name of the song?

  • I remember seeing this when I was like 7, damn I was so excited when I saw this because spiderman has been my hero for my whole life :)

  • in today's standards these special FX are still amazing

  • lol

  • man that is some eerie shit

  • U see the towers in the film, in his eyes!

  • This is my first time seeing this teaser. Damn this is a good teaser!

  • Man this was back when teasers were the shit!

  • Well I think it was better for them to remove this teaser trailer bacause it's just way too campy :/

  • Some of these teasers back then seemed like "commercial" quality. Thats not to say this didnt get me excited.

  • They should release the 10 year aniversary edition of the DVD and include this scene in it.

  • This was before 9/11 and they didn't show it because then 9/11 happened. Neat video though!

  • This would've been a great scene in the film had they not picked the WTC to set piece it.

  • This was a great teaser. I remember seeing this back in the theaters and being blown away. That new Amazing Spider-Man teaser is a joke compared to this.

  • This was before 9/11.

One of the best teaser trailers in the history of cinema.

  • Where was spider-man to save the day on sept 11, 2001? :( His spidey sense wasn't tingling

  • You know, even after a decade, I think this trailer is more exciting, more tantalizing, and more awe-inspiring than the trailer for the re-booted Spider-Man movie.

  • this was one of the best movie teasers ever...i got pissed when they pulled it just cause some people got offended because of the twin towers

  • someone please tell me the name of the music

  • Does anyone know the names of the actors in this? I particularly like the robber leader. Yeah, they're nothing minor villain parts for a teaser-trailer but still I'd like to know who these guys are.

  • the trailer is cool....but 9/11 is just horror !

  • Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to you the greatest teaser trailer of all time. I creamed my jeans at the age of eleven while waiting to see the much less significant "Jurassic Park 3" and I didn't see it again for almost ten years. I still remember it and I absolutely love the nostalgia.

  • If it came out in may 2002 and the twin towers fell in september 2001 theirs something wrong there.

  • @johncenafu24 Movie was released in May 2002. This trailer was released somewhere between April and June 2001. Thats why the twin towers were in this trailer.

  • @johncenafu24 This trailer was released in summer 2001. It was shown in theatres up until 9/11.

  • @johncenafu24

trailer came out summer 2001, smart guy..

  • what the name of the song in 1:26

  • @razmw It's called "Leave You Far Behind" by Lunatic Calm, and is also featured on the soundtrack of "The Matrix".

  • "How will we escape?"

"We'll get an unmarked pitch-black helicopter and fly low through the city of Down-town New York."

    "O.M.G. It's perfect, we'll blend right in!" :D

    Seriously, wtf?

  • love this trailer!!

  • I saw this in theatres when Jurassic Park 3 came out... I had been a Spider-man fan for a few years at that point, and I was speechless. I think even a tear ran down my cheek.

  • Here's what I find disrespectful:

The fact that Freedom Tower is NOT going to have twin towers built in it's place!!! Not to knock the new design, but twin towers fell and TWIN towers should be rebuilt in their place!! Make them wider and taller. Hell, put a third taller one in the middle to say "Fuck You" to those who celebrated on that day while we cried.

I still can't BELIEVE that it's taken so long and that some weird oblong buildings are going in it's place...Sorry for the rant.

  • this scene would have took place in the scene where the montage of spider man saving people from robbers, etc. The scene where you see the wtc in spiderman's eyes was in the movie, except the wtc is removed. The movie was released in 2002. 8 months before the release the wtc was attacked. Columbia pictures then knew they couldnt keep this scene in and took it out.

  • This scene should be in movie.

They removed almost all sighns of WTC from Spiderman movie, but not all

  • @FenrirLaVey666 I read somewhere that Sam Raimi (the director) was planning on showing this scene in the movie, but cut it out after 9/11. He still left most of the WTC scenes in the movie, except this one. Still, the frame with the Twin Towers reflected in Spidey's eyes from this trailer was still in the movie.

  • @64SuperNintendo Yeah, I know, there's 3 scenes where you can see WTC (mostly in the backround)

  • @64SuperNintendo And Btw, I know who Sam Raimi is, I love Evil Dead

  • @FenrirLaVey666 Yeah. IIRC the WTC appeared in the background while Peter is jumping across the roofs for the first time, behind him as he mourns his uncle's death on the eagle statue of the Chrysler Building, reflected in Spidey's eyes during the montage of Spidey stopping bad guys (which is the same scene as 1:27-1:29 of this trailer) and at the end, when he swings across the city and goes up to the flagpole of the American International Building, you can see the WTC in the background.

  • This trailer was made to be the original trailer !!! The event of 9/11 happened later (f*** u Osama - Bin -Laden) !! Then thinking over the situation they removed this trailer and made another one !! For its fact this trailer is the the most costliest trailer ever after Terminator 2 : Judgement day trailer !!!

  • Wickedly sweet! The Spider-Man movie series is by far the BEST superhero series EVER!!

  • The scene looks oddly low quality, and it didn't take away from the plot so.. Whatever.

  • @ACluelessKid it would have been a great reveal for spider man!

  • this trailer was beast. when i first saw the trailer i thought it was another 911 movie and when isaw the web HOOOOOOOOOOOOOLYYYY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!! and plus they were trying to raise their spirits

  • This is soo fukin cool the most awesome superhero teaser trailer of all time! Loved this, shows the awesome powwer of spiderman. sthe suprise is what makes it soo good because you dont know why their copper got pulled back and then you see the giant web.

  • @jrasposo the trailer, the scenes and the marketing footage were removed because the 11-S tragedy had JUST HAPPENED and thousands of people died in NY that day leaving hundreds of thousands of people crying for their loveones, New York is more than just a city in Spidey's comic books: it is the whole background, as important and beloved as Spider-man himself, so the director spend a whole bunch of money taking off everything related with the twin tower's tragedy as a tribute for New York

  • I remember seeing this back in 2001 when seeing Jurassic Park III, everyone in the theater went completely apeshit. Ah, good memories!

  • 1:47 That's my favorite shot of Spider-Man in action. It looks like an Alex Ross comic come to life.

  • lol The Dark Knight begining

  • Though I just finally saw this teaser trailer now. I heard it was never truly intended to be in the film. Though it sounded a lot cooler than what I actually saw. I still enjoyed it & wish I saw it back then in the Theatres 10 years ago :-( sucks to be me.

  • I remeber when I first saw this preview as a kid in the theater. When I saw the web, my mouth opened and I was speechless!

  • lol!

  • I reckon this bit was going to play in the movie after Spiderman attacks the guy who killed his uncle. I reckon that this was meant to introduce spiderman. If that's the case and it was still in the movie then it would of been MUCH better.

  • I live in the UK so why isnt this available for me and other countrys that dont give a shit about 9/11

  • @spowneh Go to hell with bin Laden.

  • @spowneh I'm going to try a different tactic for a second... why don't you give a shit about 9/11?

and I don't mean "why weren't you affected by it", I'm curious as to what you think about it.

  • When The Amazing Spider-Man Teaser Trailer hits like this, thieves and the helicopter should be strapped at Empire State Building

  • now i think spiders are awesome

  • that was awesome. Thanks for showing it. i heard about it but i never saw it.

  • 1:20-1:25 Man... how epic that must have looked on the big screen...

  • @superduperm1 I remember seeing this in theaters hehe of course, at the time, I just thought of the twin towers as some buildings in New York.

  • I really need someone to explain me how is disrespectful to show a footage of a building that was destroyed and lives were lost, how many movies of war there are, how many people died in combat? Is that disrespectful too? titanic, hiroshima, the holocaust, there are always movies and footage and even satires of all these tragedies but somehow they cant tolerate anything about WTC 9/11, it's time to get over it, i guess someone is pushing this extra sensitivity on this subject maybe to distract

  • @jraposo This was a theatrical trailer and i do not really know if it was intended for the movie or just a trailer as a matter of fact I have never even seen the movie. This was before 9/11 and the movie was coming out later.

  • @jraposo Think it had more to do with timing... Other events listed are now regarded as "History", whereas at the time, the Twin Towers was very current, loads of people suffering through loss at that time, and constant reminders everywhere... My opinion at least...

  • @jraposo give it time.... the world trade center will be tollerated in the future after the next huge man made tragedy

  • @jraposo the main thing was that the movie came out right in the wake of 9/11. it hit everyone (ESPECIALLY New Yorkers) hard, so yeah, I could see people getting upset at Spiderma using the Twin Towers to catch the bad guys... hell, even I wouldn't be too thrilled about it...

so yeah, it was probably a good move on their part.

it just woulda been in bad taste to feature the Twin Towers in something like Spiderman RIGHT after 9/11, and as a marketing campaign too.

  • @jraposo While I agree that we should not get all skittish about showing the towers, saying 'just get over it' is not exactly the way to go about it....there's a difference here. Titanic was a century ago. Hiroshima, nearly 70 years. The same for the holocaust- and while people are still impacted by those, there's been a long time to heal. 9 years and change isn't that long- people still very much remember- for those who lost loved ones that day, you CANT say 'just get over it'. Doesn't work.

  • @jraposo Now, if you meant 'just get over the fears of showing the damn towers', I'm with you. If anything, seeing them again is an emotional experience for many, in a good way. Like in Fringe, when they show them in an alternate reality- amazing moment. I just don't think anyone has the right to say 'get over' such a trajedy. Again, or those who lost loved ones, that has real impact every single day of their lives. 2,700 people died, and it's well within our lifetime-so will not be forgotten.

  • @jraposo It's not disrespectful, but it was a smart move to STOP showing the trailer out of respect. The movie's supposed to take place during present day, and a trailer prominently featuring the Twin Towers as a setpiece doesn't make much sense to show after the towers fall. It instantly dates the movie and/or pulls it out of the reality in which the filmmakers wanted Spider-Man to exist.

  • @jraposo there was a ridiculous amount on censoring after 9/11. I remember hearing that the font used in the title of the Donnie Darko movie posters had to be edited because it looked too middle-eastern. Insane.

  • @OriginalAndFunnyName dont forget all those morons petitioning to have the name of the lord of the rings film the two towers changed

or those who actually wanted to ban the words "world trade center" and "twin towers"

i only saw one example of "censorship" that i can understand why they changed it

a rap album scheduled to come out that month that featured the towers blowing up as the cover art (although the album art was finished before 9/11)

but the artists themselves changed the cover

  • @jraposo wow, calm the fuck down. they were just trying to show some respect. war movies and titanic is WAY different from 9/11. those movies were done many years later. this was hardly a year after. they were just trying to be sensitive, jeez .

  • @jraposo this was released a yer before the 9/11 events. Obviously, after all happened.. all this footage was cut out from the film . Actually this was meant to be one of the secenes.

  • @jraposo 1: this came out before 9/11 2: Those movies are completely based on and about those tragedies. Spider-man is not.

  • @jraposo How retarded are you? Can you not see in the description that this trailer was released BEFORE 9/11? If you expect the people who made the trailer to foresee that the twin towers would end this way, you are dumb as hell.

  • @marcuschookt I know it was before, my concern is why so much sensitivity on the subject, I'm a new yorker, I live and breath NYC everyday, and I personally wouldn't get offended by 911 video material, regardless prior or post, and neither some people I know who even lost relatives on that day, and still 10 years later this is a forbidden and hyper sensible subject for mainstream media

  • @jraposo asshole this was before they where distroyed

  • @jraposo well to compare it to the titanic is very silly, I can't really recall the icebergs being terrorists, hiroshima was an act of war, 9/11 was terrorism pure and simple.

  • @jraposo Those events happened decades ago. The 9/11 attacks happened not too long after the teaser trailers came out.

  • @KCAB229 Maybe they will? They are spreading rumours about terror atttacks now, so to milk the last out of it?

  • @KCAB229 fuck you hartless bitch!

  • @KCAB229 Same goes with the Spiderman Series. XD

  • @jraposo It was just really really bad timing. The film was set for a release almost just after and to have a shot of the towers with an aircraft smackbam in the middle of them would just be the center of attention for most viewers. The scene was hardly necessary for the plot of the film and it was a good decision to cut it considering that no one would even remember the actual movie after that and just that scene.

  • @jraposo I think the issue at the time was too sensitive, as they also apparently cut a fight scene with the twin towers as well from the movie.

  • @jraposo the timing was terrible. If they released the clip at the time of the movie everyone would be to focused on that. The Towers with a plane (or helicopter) in the center of it a few months after one of the worst attacks on American soil? The nation was in mourning and wasn't ready for such a blatant reminder.

I do love this scene though, and it sucks it couldn't make the final cut. But the reasons behind it seem clear to me.

  • lol memories..cant wait for the new trailer..

  • I remember seeing this in theaters way back when and thinking how awesome it was.

  • amazing trailer shame it got cancelled due 2 9/11 feel sorry 4 da americans feel proud 2 wach spidey in action :( :)

  • Why does this film look nothing like the final product?

  • @xTheLostProphetx because it was never meant to be in the movie, no matter how hard the fans keep lying to themselfs. its just a promo footage

  • I think that this was supposed to be the first time we saw spiderman in the film, i mean it makes sense, he didnt really have a great introduction

  • If this never was intended for inclusion in the film it's a crying shame. It strikes me as strange they'd waste such (then) a novel concept on just a teaser trailer.

  • @trackwalkman It's Lunatic Calm - Leave You Far Behind.

  • who is the Artist singing this song!?..I've been trying to find it "since" 2002..lol!..best trailer ever!

  • killuminati

  • this was never going to be in the movie!!!! it was a teaser for the movie thats all

  • @Gambino199 actually the end fight was apparently planned for the inside of the twin towers or on them

    so i hav herd

  • Well there it is. A little lackluster if you ask me.

  • Butthurt Americans in which 99.9% of them weren't effected personally.

They've fucking censored everything relating to the towers, just like when Homer goes to New York half of the episode is cut, and half the gags.

Such a fucking pussy whipped time we live in.

  • I hope this is included in any upcoming Blu-ray re-release.

  • I remember seeing this trailer attached to Jurassic Park 3. It totally got me excited, of course I had no idea how popular superheroes were going to become for the next decade. I am amazed how just a few months after this,.... well, you know.

  • 1 and 2 were great just cuz 3 was mediocre they want to reboot? the reboot wont be very good. just make 4 theres still plenty ways to fix what 3 did and personally i didnt think 3 was that bad.

  • @ps3fan4life007 No they want to reboot because Spider-man 4 fell through the cracks and Sony needed to make a spider-man film. So they reboot it and so far its closer to the comics then all 3 films.

  • @clovie101 idk i liked the trilogy. but even if reboot its waaay too soon but it starting to look good now. however not crazy about webshooters its just not as realistic like something he makes to shoot his webs if it was organic like in the movies it makes him more spider like

  • @ps3fan4life007 but webshooters have always been a part of spider-man, and i dont think realism fits for spider-man.

  • @clovie101 I KNOW IM JUST SAYING BY HAVING THEM ORGANIC IT MAKES HIM MORE SPIDER LIKE. (dont mind the capitals didnt realize caps lock was on :p)

  • @clovie101 lets hope so, I don't want another movie to end up like what happened to spider-man 3

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand......................now everyone's uncomfortable

  • I actually think this was how they were going to introduce spiderman.

  • @indyclonejr you've watched nostalgia critic, haven't you?

  • @SixFiguresPyle Yes I have.

  • Those fucking terrorists had to fucking ruin it for everybody.

  • I really don't see what made this scene so disrespectful. Yeah, Spider-Man put a giant web between them. Big deal. It's not like he took a shit on it or something like that. Oh well. I guess they just had to adjust to the times.

  • @SoniQ15

That would be Spider-Man 3, when Sam Raimi took a shit on the series.

  • I wonder how much money the producers went threw just to make this the most amazing spider man trailer, and for what? for it to go to shit...i would of still showed it =/

  • Hope he dun have to climb marina bay sands
