1. That is the easiest freaking gun i've ever gotten. Use VATS from the front.

i have all the perks, and a 100% chance for critical hit in VATS, but i stiil like the victory rifle more, on very hard, you have way less chance to kill a mutant master or brute with one shot or two, even when their criticals, i rather have 5 rounds + the 4 seconds knockdown, especially when you have fawkes who guns him down+ there is still a lot of chance in VATS to have a critical hit (knockdown) with the victory rifle.

Victory Rifle. It knocks down on critical and has MUCH higher durability + 2 more bullets in clip.

Reservist has a higher critical chance bonus, but as we all know every sneak attack is a critical, and one should only snipe when hidden (for its a one-shot kill most of the time)

Reservist's rifle is near the minefield. Just keep going along the street, then you'll see some old guy on this broken down house. Kill him and the rifles yours. I found him by accident. I love the reservists rifle :D

I have two of them...

1. On the first encounter shoot the weapon in VATS. He'll immediately drop the weapon and it's there for you to take. BUT DON'T KILL HIM.

2. After 72 in-game hours, return to him and he'll have another Reservists Rifle.

3. This time, KILL HIM and take the second rifle.

move to a new position or stay if you're in an area that's particularly dark. After a few seconds of them searching around for you you'll be put back into [Hidden] status to get another easy Sneak Attack Critical.

Also, if you're caught in direct combat, the knockdown will help you get a bit more distance between yourself and the enemy, give you time to switch weapons or take a few more free headshots.

im sorry but the reservists rifle isnt the best sniper in the game.i used it for awhile but then i found the victory rifle. the victory rifle has a chance to knock them down so when you fight like a deathclaw he never gets close to me and when i fight raiders its pretty much a 1 shot kill and if not they get knocked down so they pretty much die. but nice video on how to show how to get it.

Victory rifle stats.... crit multiplier =x3 dmg/shot = 40 ap cost 38 dps: 42 value 450 Reservists crit multipler =x5 dmg/shot 40 ap cost 32 dps 60 value 500 With the right perks and if you keep the weapon upto 100% condition you can have 9/10 shots score a critical outside vats. In vats that's 100% chance for a critical. That is more powerful than a knockdown imo.

with the victory rifle it still pretty much a 1 shot kill and when your fighting a deathclaw i would rather take something that will knock them down for 4 sec and do alittle less damage that way i can switch to lincoln repeater and kill him before he gets up. idk about you but i play this game on very heard and i used them both but the victory rife has saved me more times then the reservists rifle.

the only reason those are one hit kills are because your crouching.... when you crouch and are hidden its always critical.... oh and for the guy that posted the comment earlier once you reach lvl. 20 you can choose a perk that leats you see every location ... but can not fast travel there untill discovered..... oh and cant wait till the 27th!

I remember this, I was trying to reach Oasis, and I go by this church, and then I keep getting shot at.... I think I seriously got lucky when I got my hunting rifle and fired one shot at him... and I think the head shot was 27%, his head came clean off XD..... I mean.... DX..... damn 17 year old violent mid XD. Great Game..... I just didn't like my "Great" ending for being a goody goody.
