After years of making decisions ... i have decided that Canadian Silver Maples are far superior to American Silver Eagles. Maples are .9999 fine, Eagles don't even mention the purity level. Maples have a higher face value as well, which means nothing now, but could mean something if the SHTF.
I know that you mentioned in your area. When there is a shortage nationwide or perhaps worldwide, I know that the default is here, the comex/lbma default and then there is truly a shortage. I believe that a shortage is coming and soon but we are not there just yet. Peace.
Well i bought 20 morgans recently. I actually regret it because it's 90% silver. Yeah i guess 10% copper but still. I wish i would have gotten eagles (i think).
silver eagles are a rip-off. Rather do 90% U.S. Halfs, Dimes and Quarters. These prems are only high because they lost a lot of currency when silver tumbled down from 49-dollars. 90% Junk Silver and Bars are the way to go....
same 1oz buffalos I sold for $42 a month ago at Gainesville are now for sale at $32. If it was so scare do you think they would be selling them for $10 under buy back a month ago? This scarcity thing is absolute bullshit. The actual market for precious metals is .07 percent of the population.
Now if lets say 5% of the population pulls their heads out of their asses and buys some physical silver. Then we might have a ballgame. But American's are a bunch of pussy milk cows. So OWS rules now.
@apox2011now This time they, the anti-gold cartel, is losing its grip. Gold and silver mining is projected to dwindle to almost nothing by 10 years time. Energy shortages will be contributing to declining output too. If you read Harvey Organ, you will know that the shorts are having a tough time getting the longs to accept cash settlements instead of delivery. People are now more aware of whats going on and are buying physical on the dips, the cartel's Achilles heal, they are not omnipotent.
@apox2011now For now they are but the soon to come comex/lbma default due to shortages will bring them down. Physical is their Achilles heal. They can't print physical out of thin air.
This seller seems ok and has a supply going 24 hours a day at least for the next 24 hours..... as far as I can tell. He appears to be highly rated: myworld.ebay.com/aydin_coins/?_trksid=p4340.l2559
@tomisnt I bought from him this past week (waiting for delivery)...I got some 3 and 5 lot eagles and maple leafs for $33-$35 free shipping...he does have a lot of coins for sale. I also use Provident Metals, they have good products and reasonable shipping.
@MorpheusWasRight agreed but the premium is not so high. maybe a dollar over spot at most from online. i dont buy coins for that reason. why pay more when u can pay less.
I just checked ebay, you can still snag a few Eagles for 35-36 an ounce with free shipping.. They are being sold in lots of 3 or 5. This could end at any moment this weekend though. I think the temporary volume is causing this temporarily. I put my low bids in for the middle of the night thrusday when I knew no one would be on ebay.... :-) I don't know if this will last long. By the way, ebay is a dangerous place to play, there are guys selling "grams" instead of ounces. Criminals..
Greg there is no shortage of Silver Eagles as long as you are willing to pay, on average, five dollars over spot per coin. I've made two seperate purchases this week and that was the price I was required to pay to place Silver Eagles in my hand. Just the way it is right now. However, if you have the money to buy a monster box you can get them for about $1.50 over spot per coin plus shipping of about thirty dollars.
I was looking for eagles over the weekend and ended up buying maples for 3.00 over spot on ebay... They were in lots of 3 and 5 though. But, due to the volume, they were cheaper than buying 25 in a roll. The same dealers had alot of eagles on as well. Not all that much over spot. I think this was a rare weekend though. I notice the flood from these dealers dries up tonight. Maples anyway.
Historical average of 16:1 should put silver over $100, but that is on the manipulated gold price. Gold might be $5000 an ounce now if it weren't being suppressed, so what's that, over $300 for silver or ten times it's current price. Yeah, I'd say it's gonna go up.
Hey greg, i have been going to my local coin shop and they have way less than usual supply of silver but they are no where near out of stock. Im sure someone could buy them out with about 7,000$ though..... but tons of gold as you said
LOT's of Gold? Verses silver? I doubt that your telling me there are as many monster box's of gold. Not dollar amount, OZ

I can buy multiple orders of 9,999 eagles from APMEX all day long.
LAst week they were selling 2011 maples for $2 over spot for one day.
All you want. There is no shortage. That's absolute bullshit.

@ScrapGoldBusiness
maybe coin shops there. I can tell you this Greg I follow these prices and fluctuations like a hawk.
It's completely manipulated the prices. Rigged like if you were betting on a basketball game and points were being shaved.
apox2011now 4 months ago
@ScrapGoldBusiness
Greg,
just going back over some orders from about a month a ago.
Miraculously after the beat down the relative prices today gold to silver are exactly the same.
Exactly. The exchange for silver vs. gold to a dime either way!
That is impossible unless the prices are artificially set
There is no margin effect. There is no supply and demand effect.
Price fixing.
apox2011now 4 months ago
@ScrapGoldBusiness
Have you noticed for the past two months or so that every one of them either goes up or down together?
Every day. Think about how they beat gold down in 1981. And held the price that way for 20 years.
So if bought high it was 20 year disaster. That's how they work. Like drowning somebody.
Hold your head or your assets (same thing) underwater long enough until you drown.
These aren't nice people who run things. A criminal syndicate cabal whatever you want to call it.

Which sucks completely.

check out westminster mint. Silver bullion for a buck over spot. That's your best deal. And you wanna pay 5-6$ over spot? That's stupid.

simple solution, buy bars. its all silver at the end.
ShikamaruTKD 4 months ago
bars still have a premium, i think that company are not willing to sell the mixed dates that cheaply, so they just say 'out of stock'
