  • nice job man! im pretty new to guitar but check out my version too!

  • sounds great Paul. ☮

  • a homeless person dedicated this song to me in the ped mall of iowa city, years back, played it beautifully i will never forget it all my life, one of the sweetest songs ever, was a precious gift from someone who only had that to give.

  • Very nicely done sir....

  • knda quick

  • So good! I've beon working on this tune for hours and I keep making mistakes and it sounds horrible! I'm going to keep working on it, but this was just outstanding! Good vocals, too! Just kidding about the vocals!

  • got it now. Thanks, and great playing by the way.

  • Hey lockport1122, I tried finding the tab at ultimateDASHguitarcom, but could not navigate my way to the song at site - just keep getting directed to advertising. Any help? Best, wowjef

  • @wowjef ,

don't type the word DASH, put a dash (-)

    ultimate-guitar

and put a dot before com.

(YouTube does not let me type a URL into a message)

  • @wowjef Email me I will send you the tab.

  • Beautiful

  • great version but you missed some of the song during the bridge ...

  • awesome 5 stars!

  • Awesome cover, but i think your b string might be a tad flat or something. Otherwise flawless.

  • Best cover of this song. LOVE IT!!!!

  • It's all in the picking, GREAT JOB

  • I believe the song is played in open D.

  • Very, very well done!! I'm from Lockeport Nova Scotia

  • I have tried many times to play harmonic's. I can play on one fret only and all the others come out muffled. I also have to be very, very light on the string when I touch it. Great, great harmonic's my friend! (Try doing something with your fret hand to keep the non standard tuning behind the curtain & not just playing with one hand)

  • Very nice version. Check out my rough version on cwodragon.

  • Beautifully done. My wife'f from Lockport and she's beautiful too! Thanks for sharing. My best to you.

  • Perfect rendition of a super-beautiful song. Thanks.

  • Nice! Thanks for some great ideas...

  • Well done. Great sound.

  • Thank you !!! Great Job!!

  • Nice work!!!

  • Sweet playing.

  • Not bad!!! Now play it in standard e tuning!!!

  • It's supposed to be played in open E.

  • Open E puts a lot of stress on the neck so I opted for the capo version.

  • **My mom came in real quick as i was typing this....*******My brother Landon :) is playing it for her at her memorial

  • omg...a girl named Martha died at our school and I'm playing this song for her at the memorial.

  • Truly the greatest acoustic instrumental ever

  • niiice

    duane would be proud

  • you sound incredible, nailed that to a T, nice work!!!

  • Truly Amazing!!!

  • Amazing!!! The best performance I've seen on youtube so far!! Could you recommend a good tab resource for this piece please, I'm trying to learn it!

    Kind regards,

    Lee.

  • Many thanks to everyone for the nice comments. There is a good source for the tab at ultimateDASHguitarDOTcom

I used the dadf#ad tuning with a capo at 2nd fret. Have fun, it's a great tune.

  • Thanks a lot for the link!! Along with your video it will help me get this tune sussed out nice a quickly!!

    thanks!

    Lee

  • he's good but listen to the guy w/ the larivee parlour gtr he plays it almost perfectly,

  • Awesome song, awesome cover

  • hey man great job

  • please do you tabs for this i would love to have them great play bueatiful song keep playing

  • betcha duane allman himself would compliment you on your version of his beautiful song...sounded good to me 102907 rip mr duane allman your music lives on thru the cool playing of guitarists like lockport1122

  • isnt little marth in diffrent tuning to standard

  • Little Martha is in Open E tuning. This looks like Open D tuning and capo the 2nd fret to get to the Open E. He does a great job on a complicated song!

  • You did a real nice clean rendition but you are leaving out part of the song. Listen to your version then listen to Duane's and you should pick it out.

  • Expand the posters comments next to the video? Not sure how that's done?

  • Sounds great. Any chance or you doing it again so we can see your fingers, especially at the beginning of the piece? I can barely see the capo, which fret is it on & are you playing in an open D tuning?

  • Wolf: Expand the poster's comments next to the video, your questions are answered there. Lockport: Simply excellent! Thanks!

  • tune your guitar to open d and then capo the second

  • I feel the love great job my brotha!

  • Great job dude

  • Nice job man. Simply a great tune and you played it beautifully..!

  • Relly good one man, Allman Brothers Band is the greatest band of all time and this tune is just so touching. Great playing too...!

  • perfect

  • so sweet, thanks for keeping Duane's music alive

  • Great playing guy! love your tone!.Mike

  • best cover i've heard. very very nice i'm working on it too. does your taylor have an ebony fretboard? i think i'm finally about to spring for a taylor. great sound. can't afford that one though haha.

  • What tuning did you use? I play it with an open E, but yours sounds better.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you have a capo on the second fret, so I am guessing you have an open D?

  • Thanks. The tuning is DADF#AD with capo on 2nd fret.

  • out of all the versions i've seen, yours was the best.

    thanks.

  • Beautiful playing.

  • Sounds great!
