Oh, man, guys I just read the first chapter of Midnight Sun and here's a breakdown.

1. He doesn't understand why everyone's fascinated with the sap Bella Swan is but at the same time he can't resist her scent and it awakens the monster in him, almost uncontrollable.

2. He daydreams about killing everyone in the classroom and getting away with it.

3. He fantasizes about killing Bella, in 1000 Ways -- 1000 ways to die!

4. How Mrs. Cope laments not being able to bang him for being too young.

I read the first chapter of Midnight Sun just for the hell of it and I have to say it was the highest part of the Twilight series. I mean, it's not going to get any better than Edward fantasizing about killing everyone in the classroom and the multiple ways and times he imagined killing Bella. Of course, I still found a bunch of things wrong with it (Jasper was about to snap; why didn't he just go home? Edward was seriously going to snap; why didn't he just go home instead of hide in his car?)

I would rather like "Midnight Sun's" concept if it was instead told from the point-of-veiw of a supporting character (or perhaps third-person omniscient) and would flesh out the plot, setting, and/or other characters. Edward simply has too large a role in Isabella's telling of the story to truly contribute anything to Meyer's universe.
