The acting is pretty bad. George Reeves will always be television's best Superman and his acting is way BETTER than Kirk Alyn's.

The actress who played the Spider Lady was Carol Forman, who also played "The Black Widow" in the Republic serial of the same name. Same spider-theme, different character, same actress.

Google her and you'll see a picture of her in the other outfit.

@ZenaLamek Fish net type costume was worn by Black Canary, and Black Widow in the comic books. But later both abandoned them.

@hydrolito It wasn't fishnet like stockings, it was closely-fitting, black sequinned fabric with a 'fish-tail' at the ankles. A bit like a Morticia frock but all black sequins. I can see why fish net type costumes might be unsuitable for lady villains (or heroines for that matter. Thanks!
