  • great cover! not as good as the original of course :)

  • country song?

  • Kelly Jones makes this song epic and so much better than the tragically hip version,

  • @ryanserring that, sir, is fucking blasphemy. Nobody can sing this song like Gordon Downie, and nobody can relate to it like Gordon Downie.

  • @SpeedyGreen maybe not, but kelly jones' favourite band is the tragically hip, so this is more than just a cover of a random song, and its a very good one

  • One of my favorite stereophonics songs...epic cover...probably the most under rated band in history

  • Check out Kelly singing this song with tracially hip live!!!! Amazing!!!! Kellys' voice really suits the song!

  • god i had to stop at 0:07 to replay that amazing first line, such a beautiful tone in his voice, and it continues throughout :) i adore kelly's voice. beautiful, sad song.

  • My favourite ever Phonics song. Awesome!

  • my hero a legand, o man what a voice

  • good version but to say that this is better than the hip's version is ridiculous

  • I realy like this song.First time I hear it.Lovely!

  • anyone know what this songs about? its great btw

  • you dont haev to know anything its just brilliant altogether! :)

    what a voice and guitar!

kelly does great cover of something in the way nirvana's purrrfect for his sandpaper voice! :) lol

  • fiddlers green is a mythical place were soldiers go when they die, its about the war.

  • been 2 months since the post but still. though it carries a nautical theme the song is about the nephew of Gord Downie lead singer for the tragically hip (for a girl i know its mothers day, the girl being his sister). he died of heart failure or something to do with the heart (His tiny knotted heart, well I guess it never worked too good...). because of the personal meaning they had never played it live until 2006 when they decided that if it could help others get over loss they should play it.

  • @PGtips09

Song was written by Gord Downie for his nephew who died young.

  • it's cool that stereophons like the hip. two of my fave bands

  • Not bad, but the original Hip version is far better--feels far more authentic, raw, and emotional. This is too polished.

  • omg! The Tragically Hip's version is great, but that's breathtaking! fantastic job! <3

  • The original is so classic but this version is amazing as well. It has a very "sitting around the camp fire" vibe to it. I love it.

Sterophonics are insanely underated in North America and I'd imagine the Tragically hip are insanely underrated in Europe(not to mention North America as well). It's cool Stereophonics did this.

  • Kellys voice on here is astonishing.

It really brings out the emotions of the song! :)

  • Beautiful track!

Thats just the reason why the stereophonics are my favourite band!

  • On ma najlepszy głos na świecie! I love him voice :)

  • Fantastic.. Wot a song..love it.. thx alot... :)

  • b side track on bartender and the thief single brilliant

  • nice beautiful song

  • I like the Hip version better

  • Brilliant but excruciatingly sad song written by the Tragically Hip. This cover is excellant.

  • Klass Choon.. Cheerz 4 The Video m8...
