She didn't get arrested for poking someone on facebook; she got arrested for violating a restraining order. It's not any different than phoning someone and hanging up. "What? They were one speed dial; I just pushed 3 buttons." Personally, if I was court ordered not to contact someone, I wouldn't poke them, tweet them, phone them, write them, wave to them, wink at them, or do anything, in anyway, that would constitute "contacting" them.

To poke someone on facebook means that you went to their profile and clicked the "Poke" button. Once poked, the pokee gets a small alert claiming who they've been poked by.
For instance, if you filed a restraining order against someone who was threatening to hurt you, and that meant NO CONTACT; Would you not feel threatened to know that they were still checking out your profile? It's still a violation.
And stop with the "Stupid Americans" crap. Stupidity knows no nation in particular.

The title of this whole story was very deceiving and made it really seem like the only reason that got arrested was for poking someone on FB. SHE WAS NOT ARRESTED FOR POKING SOMEONE ON FB. All restraining order say NO contact. :O) 98% of the time if you have a restraining order on someone it is because they won't leave you alone. They stalk harass may...be even a danger to you. The restraining order is to get them to leave you alone. Therefore poking them is a volition of the order. The title of this whole story was very deceiving and made it really seem like the only reason that got arrested was for poking someone on FB. Yes that would be silly. But this is not the case.
