If you vote YES you will be voting to give more power to a new EU which will for the first time ever become a legal "State".You will become a citizen of this state and have to abide by it's laws. See : Anthony Coughlan on the Lisbon Treaty 2009 here on you-tube.

If you vote NO, nothing bad will happen because Ireland belongs to the Euro zone. You cannot be "thrown out" of the EU anymore than France or Holland after their NO !

The treaty is self-ammending, if voted through they could make as many changes to the treat and consequently to any laws without public consent or knowledge. They can scrap freedom of information laws as they please first and then change any other laws they fancy. I'm not saying this will happen but it quite easily could happen if there was a yes vote.
