  • Cowen get out of government you fat ignorant pig

  • @DEACONFROST11 The problem is the Irish mindset not just him

  • hey any1 on facebook? look up ...How can Brian Cowen be Taoiseach when he's at McDonald's the Whole time ... and like the page thanks!! LOL

  • Traitor .

  • The second time round never should have gone ahead it makes a mockery of democracy and shows that we never really had a choice in the matter anyway.

cowen get out of government and bring your gobshite party with you, you will never be in power again you money grabbing fat fuck!!!!!!

  • @Segbot92

Good job ;) You can tell you kids you were on of the people that bent over and let the government fuck you sideways while Ireland got fed to the dogs... Good on ya.

    *SARCASM*

  • Well DONE! Me too! 1st and 2nd time!

  • @Segbot92 where are all the jobs, remember the slogan "yes to jobs" did that mean yes to jobs for the FF party in europe? this government is doing nothing to create jobs unless of course sitting down with your thumbs in your arsehole .

  • yyeeeessss...

ireland is back in the game europe.

GO FUCK YOURSELVES ANTI EU LUNATICS!

  • Comment removed

  • He's more like a Clowen......

  • NO vote = we are still in the EU, like we are now, and the EU must be more accountable to the people of Europe. It stops the runaway power of the EU parliament and its gravy train expenses.

YES vote = no way back, we can't undo mistakes made in the treaty or the EU, our say in EU is halved. Some countries say is doubled.

The mature thing is to stand up and tell EU to correct the problems, not to give in to the accusing tut-tutting of EU politicians trying to tell us we should be embarrassed.

  • Go fuck yourself Mr. Cowen. NO NO NO!

  • what we have here is two idiots who voted yes, assuming they know what the irish people thought when they voted no. not only do they not understand but u can see right from the beginning the patronising way they are treating the peoples decision. instead of just accepting that they dont have a right to say its a wrong decision they continue to pretend that its a big deal. its not a big deal its called democracy. why couldnt u do ur job and get on with it and deliver the message to the eu???

  • Because you dont get to be taoiseach without a vasectomy and spinectomy. This cowen fells less upstanding than a worm. He's a coward who gets his marching orders from brussels as it stands. Lisbon 1 and the unwelcome sequel are the final power grab of the EUssr. The lisbon treason will be burried, or the people of europe will stand against this.

  • No fucking No!

  • We are not as stupid as you think, Cowen . we did not Vote No because we don't understand, we understand well enough. now do your job run the country for your people not for you civil servants . Shame on you Brian Cowen

  • I am Irish and I was wondering could someone please explain to me the importance of this treaty. What would happen if we voted yes and what would happen if we voted no?

  • Hello there judemcg. i will try to answer your question.

If you vote YES you will be voting to give more power to a new EU which will for the first time ever become a legal "State".You will become a citizen of this state and have to abide by it's laws. See : Anthony Coughlan on the Lisbon Treaty 2009 here on you-tube.

If you vote NO, nothing bad will happen because Ireland belongs to the Euro zone. You cannot be "thrown out" of the EU anymore than France or Holland after their NO !

    Good luck.

  • Yes side includes Jacques Barrot, Vice President of the current EU Barosso commission and the Current EU Justice Commissioner. So who are you going to trust now. Urfadder = Dime Bar!

  • No side also includes 862,415 Irish people but you have omitted that. Big pan europe corporations like Intel, ryanair can generate cut wages, make huge profits when the Laval ruling is implemented after Lisbon.

  • The NO side also includes the citizens of France,Holland,Germany,Austria and the UK !

The YES side are companies looking for cheap labour like Dell who moved to Poland,or here in Germany Nokia who left Bochum to re-locate in Romania where wages are low. It's like a game of musical chairs ! When Turkey joins, the Polish and Rumanian jobs will go to low paid Turks. It's called "exploitation".

Ireland PLEASE say NO to Lisbon2.

  • NO SIDE: Shinners, Ganley, Socialists, Coir, Eirigi, UKIP, Le Pen, BNP.

YES SIDE: all international chambers of commerce, 3 main political parties, IFA, IBEC, SIPTU, ICTU, most major trade unions, Ryanair, Intel, Microsoft.

    Who you going to trust?

  • i trust mr ganley after all the americans trusted him....and there the most powerful nation on earth...

  • thats the whole point you idiot. the americans dont want another superpower to compete with so they will try to keep us divided and weak

  • has anyone counted the number of spin phrases cowen uses in this? "respect that decision". "rush to judgment" "no quick fix" "pathway to ratification" "reforms in the union" "unchartered territory" "clear pathway forward". tell us what u think brian and stop just reading from an eu spin sheet.

  • Cowan doesn't think, he's TOLD what to say/do.

He's a fat retarded cunt trying to sell Ireland off to his new 'buddies' in the EU. Did you see where he says he has to talk with his 'coligues' and 'report' ?

    /watch?v=e3vEOSkk5AM

  • Vote 'NO' in the Lisbon Treaty those who would rule over us see us as nothing else as serfs and slaves shake the shackles from your body and mind vote 'NO' in the Lisbon Treaty and show the World Ireland is Free.

  • We are free and always will be the Treaty doesn't make a difference to that.

  • The treaty is self-ammending, if voted through they could make as many changes to the treat and consequently to any laws without public consent or knowledge. They can scrap freedom of information laws as they please first and then change any other laws they fancy. I'm not saying this will happen but it quite easily could happen if there was a yes vote. I personally would prefer to avoid this possibilitiy with a no vote

  • It does say that it's up to the National Governments to agree as well.

  • Unless they change that

  • He's a complete gobshite, he said he hasnt even read it all. How can a government that wants to change the carpark in Lenster house to a garden that'll cost near enough to a million euro know how to run a country, they could invest that in health or education, two departments that need it instead of the cuts that are in place, WE NEED FIANNA FÁIL OUT, AND NO LISBON, for the future of the country. I wish I was old enough to vote!

  • cant belive this asshole wants us too vote again, well mr dip shit we are going too vote NO again and my dad who voted yes is now voteing NO. my family are all voteing NO.

  • The polls say different anyway.

  • What's so hard to understand BIFFO.. No has always meant NO!?

  • no no no for fuck sake how many times do u have to say it

  • christ i hate this prick sorry but i have so much anger in me this fat prick just stop the bull shit its all about you not about the people, just want an easy way out i voted no and it stays no why are we the way we are today cause we let to many in and where paying for it now im saying it again why did we ever join europe we were better without it. micheal collins would turn in his grave now he faught for us its time we stand up for ourselves and fight never put trust in irish government

  • The Lisbon treaty/constitution's "citizens initiative" shows us what post-democratic Europe will look like...a million EU "citizens" will be "allowed" to gather 1 million signatures and present this petition to the UN-ELECTED COMMISSION who are under no obligation whatsoever to do anything about it !

This is how far democracy has sunk in once democratic Europe....George Orwell must be turning in his grave.

Now only Ireland can save us.

    Google : No 2 Lisbon 2

  • Lying Coward.

    Respect the vote!

    Ha Ha.

    No means No.

  • Well it happened to me on the Dick Roche vid as well.

  • Comment removed

  • How many times do we have to say no?!! We voted NO once and we'll do it again.. Voting yes will only benefit the government who can't be bothered to run a country properly. We need a new government. If all those poor men who died to make Ireland an independant nation could see this now, they would turn in their graves!!!

  • goverment is a joke the EU is a joke vote NO

vote no before and will vote no again

  • NO Means NO...

  • I heard the minister of foreign affairs today saying today that voting yes to lisbon will benefit Ireland-

Well I think the better thing to say is

Ireland would be better off with a new government!

Vote No to Lisbon- a democratic vote was made and the people said No.

We were not confused, we knew what we were voting for.

  • They want us to vote YES because there is something in it for them. Screw Fianna Fáil and screw Sarkozy and co. Vote NO.

  • ready for round 2 people?

dont be bullied.. VOTE NO!!!!! they should have respected our first vote..some democracy its gonna be when theres proof that they dont care what we say. if its a yes vite, will they hold another one..No, they wont. why dont they let the rest of Europe have a vote? because its gonna be a let down and they know it. wel be rightly screwed!!

  • Shame on Cowen.

    Shame on Fianna Fail.

We will NOT be bullied. Power to the people..... NO to Lisbon 2.

  • IT WAS NOT agreed with 26 other countries peoples , only 26 other people (ie) heads of state.

THE PEOPLE WERE DENIED THEIR RIGHT TO VOTE,,, IRISH PEOPLE KEEP YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE AND VOTE NO TO LIS/CON 2

keep Irish jobs for the unemployed Irish people,

The more countries that join now the more that have a free passport to come here and take your livelihoods from you..

    A resounding NO TO LIS/CON 2

  • A RESOUNDING NO TO LIS/CON 2

  • poor man my hole, he is a useless politician, he has not even TRIED to talk to the public about the recession, he didnt even READ the treaty, if only Sinn Fein was in power at least they have Ireland at its heart, not money and Europe. i am IRISH not European. u should serve us, not europe Brian. u should be NOT be pushing us to vote Yes, u should be impartial and accept OUR voice, thats the difference between Democracy and Authoritarian government systems.

  • Sinn Fein?

  • yes, Sinn Fein. why?

  • One of the only countries to benefit economically from EU membership was Ireland - these days are now over and the race to the bottom in Europe is on. We are not cheap enough to win - and because we do not have our own currency wecurrently have no choice but to "adjust" our lifestyles. It's a big world folks! We really need to think about this one...

  • Fuck off Biffo you useless fat prick, you and Bertie have ruined this country, your a disgrace to the thousands who fought to free this country fuck off and take the lisbon treaty with you, what democrat cant accept the democratic decision of the people he's supposedly working for your just a fat fascist culchie. NO NO NO!!

  • How many times is he using 'filler', by saying, "we have to deal with the aftermath" and "we have to reflect". Not to mention his catchphrase - "going forward".

    vote NO.

Even if you voted Yes the last time, respect democracy this time round and vote NO.

  • I will be voting a big fat juicy NO. This government and EU have no respect for democracy in ignoring our vote which to me clearly shows what our true position is in Europe. The EU is fast becoming a dictatorship.

  • What he should of done is respect the choice that his people made, NOT brushed it aside & agree to hold a second referendum on the same issue.

Disgusting behavior i hope the Irish vote NO again in october, not just for them but also for other European countries who have been gagged.

  • no one in ireland wants lisbon, but the fact we have to vote again means there will be a fix and it will be a yes this time, wer all fucked, no matter how many people vote no AGAIN it will be a yes cause europe will bully the irish into it

  • this fat bastard is a fucking traitor to ireland.

  • we'll see who's shell-shocked when it goes flying through the next time.

  • Comment removed

  • Ireland no longer has a caring government.

It's getting a bit like the states.

Our freedoms are being given away, by people who never earned them, to assholes who don't deserve them.

Cowen looks like a pig, & is probably too lazy to scratch his arse.

Is there no-one with genuine leadership qualities left in this country ???

Lets import some economic boffins from Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, etc.

& sack the shower of dishonest unqualified, gobshites, that are destroying our nation.

  • i ask these questions..

why do we need this so much we were fine b4.

what does this treaty really do but hand power away from ur country..

oh and one more ting I DONT GET WHY A RICH LOAD OF ARSE HOLES WHO DONT LIVE HERE SHOULD DECIDE WHAT WE CAN AND CANT DO

  • Ireland will really be screwed if the voters say 'no' to LISBON a second time. I say 'YES' .

  • Wonder how the Irish could make such a bum their prime minister.

Were they all drunk when voting?

  • We didn't vote for this asshole ! the previous asshole resigned because of corruption , and this asshole got his job , nobody voted for him !!! he'll be gone soon anyway , Ireland is screwed !

  • Better than some of the leaders your country had.......Don't mention the war LOL

  • That's a pretty cheap shot. If Cowen was leader of the Nazi Party, how do think he might have managed.

  • We don't have the option to vote for our Prime Minister in Ireland.

He is elected internally by the incumbent political party.

  • he's the taoiseach. We don't call him the prime-minister. Who voted Gordon Brown in??? Nobody, that's who. I don't hear the english crying about it.

  • Who gives a fuck what his title is in Irish. He is a Prime minister in the english language, which is, the last time I checked, the official language of Ireland.

By pointing out that 'we don't have an option to vote', I'm not whinging about it, just merely making a statement of fact to somebody's comment.

  • well go back and check again McTuffel. IRISH is ALSO the official language of the Irish state.

and I GIVE A FUCK what it is in Irish, since you asked.

  • Yes offcial in the eyes of the state but paled in comparison to the prevelence of English, the language which is 'actually' spoken. I spent 16 years learning it at school and for what? I can't speak a single word of it. I spent 6 years learning German and Spanish and am fluent in both. Does that not say something? Its a useless language.

Most of you guys who get on your defensive high horse about people cristising it can't even speak a fucking word of it yourselves.

  • Don't get silly here. That clearly means during those 16 years you simply had no interest.

It's important to try and maintain some elements of our culture. It's not useless - if anything the passive knowledge of the differing celtic sounds made it easier for you to learn German & Spanish.

btw no high horse. Gaeilgoir liofa anseo.

  • Exactly, NO INTEREST. You've hit the nail on the head. And what causes lack of interest for people in anything? Lack of purpose. Learning the language is therefore a purposless effort for most pupils who are force fed it as you have alluded to.

No passive knowledge of Irish shaped my ability with my foreign language endeavours. I learned them through attentiveness and plenty of social interaction. Not because I had some memory of how to ask 'can I go to the toilet' in Irish at school.

  • I agree. It's a useless language and i am fluent in french but hardly in irish! Oh yes i'm from Ireland too which again proves the argument

  • Thank you Ninja.

At least now I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

  • I know and I hate the way people here mock other countries for their language, even though the people here can't even speak a word of their own themselves.

  • i can speak it and its u would too if the English hadnt beaten it out of us. have some pride in ur national and ancient language which originated in central Europe with the celts, go to the gaeltacht and u will see how important that language is.

  • i am irish and cant speak 1 word of irish we speak english here thats it !

  • You're actually wrong. Irish is our first official language - English is of course the most widely spoken. Taoiseach is actually a title - it does'nt directly translate to Prime Minister although that would be his function.

  • taoiseach HE IS A SPASTIC HE IS NOT MY TAOISEACH HE IS NOTHING ONLY A BIG FAT RETARD SOONER WE GET RID OF HIM THE BETTER THE PIG !

  • If the electorate voted "Yes", there would be no attempt to analyse the "NO" vote. Voting "NO"

does not mean we want out of Europe but it gives us a much stronger voice as Lisbon can't go ahead without us. look at our position now we never had a stronger voice. Dick cockroche you are a loser and each time you appear in the national media it is extra votes for the "NO TO LISBON" campaign. Those of us that voted "NO" the last time should, but probably won't do the same again.

  • guess what.. i said NO the last time.. ill say a bigger NOOOOOOOO.... this time... can anyone understand what no means.. lisbon me ARSE !!!!!

  • biffo :@ u fukken didnt respect the irish ppl

  • "i have to respect that decision"-- my arse..

  • Yeah, what the f**kin' hell did this idiot let the friggin' frog Nicholas Sarskoy or Sarseky or whateverhissurnameis in our country & lecture us the Irish folk about the importance of the Lisbon Treaty and all yak yak yak...

Send Brian Cowen & his FF cronies to the guillotine!!!

  • The only way the biffo bunch can save the country is if they all resgn from goverment and let a proper politician take charge....if there is any

  • cowens not the worst bertie left him a poisen ball of shite with lisbon and the pending colapse in finance, but cowens budget in 07 (for the year of 08) was awful, that was at the time when american banks were already failing and it was full steam ahead with a lavish budget, that was a big booby on his part.

i remember the summer of 07 in madrid lookin at cnn when the first news was comming out about the mortgage debt and even i knew that that was a big deal & im no economist...

  • cowen needs to accept that a re-run will fail !! fuck the eu ..vermin cunt's have trampled our economy .. fuck europe !!!

  • put it this way lads would you prefer an extremely intelligent fat man or a dyslexic school teacher called enda from mayo

  • extremely intelligent ?? cop the fuck on .. the fat bastard has not honoured his country mens decision .. he didn't even read the treaty .. you dumb fuck

  • If at first you dont suceed try try and try again. and the apes will do what you want.

  • Ireland can't be a real Republicn can it? Why is it with the UN.

  • He's nothing but an overgrown sausage!!!

  • yeah he's a bad leadear

and he's killing the Irish enconammy!

oops he already killed it when he was minister of Finance before this post!

  • he's thick and does'nt seem like he knows wot he's doin he did'nt read the treaty to the full

  • When this guy is not busy kissing Sarkozys ass he is trying to find ways to force the lisbon treaty in the back door.. People acroos Europe have to wake up to the fact that the people they elect DO NOT work for them, they work against them.

  • And yet Brian Cowen is about as attractive (physically) as Sarkozy, I mean he wouldn't be much worse, unless you had a thing for swarthy little wrinkled wanna be Napoleons, I don't know I'd rather prefer the fatty disgruntled bogman, but between a rock and a hard place what's to dicuss, except that Sarkozy is Bruxelles...and lovely Carla Bruni, and cafe au lait & croissant. Fianna Fail want to sar-Cozy-up to this crowd! And Y'all should pay for these aims! Pardon me, CONTINUE to pay!!!!

  • his daughters hot.dunno how.she didnt exactly get the best of genes from old brian.lol

  • Dude, she's 16.

    Don't go there.

  • ah nasty i thought she was 18

  • So he said that the leaders of Ireland are so incompetent that they have no idea how to lead the nation without the direction of the EU. He also implies the Irish people have caused a problem and how he has to clear up the mess. He would be better spending his time getting on with making Ireland the great independent nation it now has the chance to be. EU follows Hitler's 2nd book 'New Order' almost to the letter. Nasty people.

  • This fat bastard needs to fill his mouth back up with cake and shut up

  • Democracy rules, we were the only country allowed to vote... We voted no and we will vote no again. However lets see mthe changes in our constitution...

  • They have no respect for our vetoe on the Lisbon Treaty and they have no respect even for their own mandate which stated that it had to be a unanimous approval by the 27 states, if one voted against that was to be it. But they perceived this and voted on Ammendment 32 which would bypass the Irish vote. Ever get the feeling you're being sold out?

  • they are scum, but that vote has & never will have any legal effect. Declaration 17 in the Treaty gives the Union primarcy over member states, what ever way you look at it, that by itself is a act of treason.

  • The European Union is not a democratic Institution, never has and never will be. For the sake of all the people of Europe and for the sake of their sovereignty it should be abolished immedaitely. I for one do not want to be part of a federalist superstate where the rule of law will be governed by an elite in which will have no accountability for their actions or policies. And don't be so naive about losing a Commissioner, it will make no differance on way or another! NO TO THE NEW WORLD ORDER!!!

  • I think he's very much aware that if he foists another referendum on the people and loses again, his political career is over; it's been severely damaged as it is. And to think that it took the President of the Czech Republic to say what Brian Cowen should have said, says a lot about his leadership. If Mr.Cowen refuses to accept the decision of the people he's supposed to represent, then I think it's time for new leadership.

  • I think at this point Brian is praying that the British courts will judge in favor of a referendum which I'm sure would result in a no vote on the treaty. The Czech Republic looks like they won't ratify it either. If the British reject his treaty it's game over.

  • The question is simple ! Will the leader of the nation respect the democratic wishes of the people of Ireland , answer , No !!! brian Cowen will not respect the democratic will of the people ! lisbon with some concessions to farmers fishermen taxi drivers ! Don't be fooled people don't be bought , think of your fellow citizens who voted no !!! defend your constitution, defend your nation !!! vote no again !!!

  • The hubris, of admitting, ad nauseum, that you have no answers for what happens next! Almost like you're getting annoyed! Imagine, the people, the real people of Ireland, didn't do what they were told! "Heavens, who could have anticipated this.. and so nobody knows what happens next!?"Shit, with leadership like this, imagine all the"unchartered territory" had Ireland agreed to this"treaty"? We're proud of you today Ireland, very proud... in New York. Europe!,LOL! nice job Ganley. Y'done good. :)

  • Hi dianne,

I hear exactly what you're saying!

Leadership skills don't seem to be Brian Cowen's forte. Tis a pity, cos that's the number 1 attribute a Taoiseach should have!

    Don't ya just love Ireland?

  • I think Brian is coming under increasing pressure from his counterparts in France and Germany but also from the EU commission. This is not good for him but then again I dont beleive he has what it takes to stand up to these people who are incredibly arrogant. Have you seen Sarkozy, Barrosso and Merkel. The 3 musketeers! All Bush people by the way.

  • i don't vote for fianna fáil and i voted NO on this treaty, but i don't think this is brian cowen's fault. i feel kinda bad for him. this wasn't about parties, it was about democracy.

  • If Brian Cowan thought anything about the democratic process he would have admitted to the Irish people that that Treaty was dead!! Legally and by the European Unions own mandate it should be, but they had to pass an ammendment back in March to find out whether or not they would respect our vetoe...

That is the nature of the European Union and it's we're seeing the true nature of what is a totalitarian socialist system...

  • Totalitarian socialist? Is there proof to yer point

  • If you happen to have seen the reaction in the European assembly in the days following the Irish referendum you would know exactly what i mean...

  • if u would look at the members of that assembly, by which i mean that the majority of politicians there are conservatives and not socialists, u would know what I mean, has any socialist/leftist MEP reacted louder to our No to Lisbon louder that Sarkozy?

  • someone can tell this man something very simple: people do not want more EUROPE.

    it is as that simple!
