  • Hey Mike how long have you been playing the guitar man? And how old are you now? This piece is incredible it really is inspiring I hope in ten fifteen years I can play like that.

  • Hey Mike, I discovered this song a few years ago, when using myspace and I loved it, great composition!

  • @toayacock Hey thanks, wow Myspace, seems so long ago!

  • Hey Mike... i got one short question :

What is this thing that you placed where usually is the cutaway? Newton Faulkner plays that too... is that kind og special wood or something other?

i searched trough all the web for an description or a name of it , caus i want to mod my guitar with that too,but i found nothing...

    greetz RodRon from Germany :)

  • @rodron666 Hello thanks for the comment

It is just a piece of spruce wood. It's nothing special, but when it is attacked by the fingernails the softer surface gets worn down to reveal the hard grain. This creates a surface similar to that of a guiro. Throughout this track you can see me running my nails over it to create that effect. It is simply a piece of wood glued to the body.

    Hope this helps!

  • Very Fruity

  • fREAKIN AMAZING! LOVE IT MIKE! THANKS FOR SHARING

  • wow so real

  • Chuck Norris disliked this.

  • @mikedawesofficial Thanks Mike! Yes, I'm familiar with DADGAD (at least in theory) and I was very saddened when Eric passed away...

  • Holy shit man! Your like one the best guitarists I've seen :O

  • @terrence4018 I have no idea what you're talking about sorry. Unless you were in Slovenia a few days ago?

  • amazed. you make your instrument sing even better than some great expressive electric guitar virtuosos while still maintaining the purity of the accoustic. creative emotional expression.

  • Wow shit. I can worship him oredi

  • Dawes you fucking beast.

    Much Love,

    Davies

    p.s. MOAR PINCHES!

  • Great tune man. Awesome job. What kind of pick up do you use in your Taylor that picks up the percussive sound? Or that's just the ES in the Taylor alone? Thanks

  • @kapooktu Hey thanks for the comment. I took out the ES system and replaced it with an LR Baggs Dual Source. It's a great system, really resistant to feedback. This sound is a combination of the two condensers in shot and the dual source.

    Mike

  • Sounds fantastic!

  • @shanehennessyguitar Thanks and Merry Christmas!

  • Hey awesome dude! You sure know how to handle that wooden box.

  • Hey Mike dude! just amazing musicianship! compositions like this make me cream in my jeans!

It's in good old DADGAD tuning

  • The reverb reminds me of the recording we did. Remember the mic behind the sofa?

  • @PQleyR Indeed i do, not as much reverb as the IGF Boogie Shred video!

  • This does just NEVER get old! Its fantastic Mike, I will admit i am insanely jealous at your skills! Keep it up mate, go for drinks soon aye?

  • @RandehFisher Thank you chap, i figured i best do a video for it as i haven't played it for like a year and a half!
