  • Thanks Carl. Great Tribute!

  • My fave vocalist.

  • Jimmy's close friend Davey Pattison, who joined the Trower band in 1985, is an AWESOME world class vocalist who has the same soulful delivery, just a bit higher tonality and range. But NO-ONE else ever comes closer than the Wee Man himself! Miss Jimmy terribly, thank God Davey is there to fill that unfillable gap! Davey's first two albums with Robin are Passion and Take What You Need. If you listen to those performances, you'll see-or rather HEAR-what I mean! Respectfully, "Stevie Ray Trower"

  • He had a great voice! RIP James.

  • What a great voice. A giant among vocalists.

  • To all future musicians, pay close attention, this is the way it is done. There may never be another perfect combination of chemistry in music ever again.Rt and Jimmy Dewar played New Orleans a few times in the mid 70's. I was up front mesmerized. And still to this day I stand mesmerized. It seems like only yesterday. God Bless Jimmy Dewar and long live Robin Trower.

  • @swampdawg1000 I saw him 2 months ago over here in the UK and although his new vocal isnt as good, it was simply amazing! Would have loved to have seen him back in the 70's

  • One of the top 3 piece bands ever . An incredible sound for a trio . They were incredible musicians who let their music do the talking . Great vocals and wailing guitar .

  • the smoothness of Jimmy Deward like no other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this was truly a talented man- like no other!!........... A voice that will make you get intouch with your inner soul evry time you'll listen to it............

  • there are many great singers....... Paul Rodgers, Alex Ligertwood (Santana), Stevie Wonder, Glen Hughes............. but the soulfulness and charismatic tones of Mr. Dewar....... have set him apart from all others....... just listen to Sweet Wine of love, Bluebird or I can't live without you...........................

  • Thank you for sharing this amazing Tribute to James Dewar... a Rock Legend with a voice smooth as silk.

I am always in awe whenever I listen to his magical, bluesy, voice.

I usually listen to "Daydream" over, and over again, as I am chilling to right now. I've never heard another voice that has had this kind of affect on me .. litteraly spine tingling. Nothing Sweeter...

Lisa Dewar...Your Father's Love surrounds you. I'm sure the angels are weeping to. God Bless.

    "Forever Spellbound"

  • A wonderful tribute to one of the greatest voices in Rock...or anywhere. Thanks for posting, and to the recorder of the soundtrack...WELL DONE. Right place, right time.

  • The first time I saw RTB was in Fall '73 at The Coliseum in Portland when they opened for 'Tull during the Passion Play tour. If you were a 'Tull fan then you might recall openers at best being politely ignored if not treated with outright hostility. Not so here, they won the crowd early on and received rapturous applause at the end of their set.

  • Back again to listen to this . Simply wonderful version of Sailing . The sound is fantastic . Robins wailing guitar and Jimmy's voice so clear . What a live act these 3 guys must have been . I wish I'd seen them at Glasgow Apollo in 76 & 80 .

  • This is an awesome tribute to James Dewar. This show at MSG was the first time I ever saw this Trower lineup, and I can proudly state, this is my recording!! As a collector I never heard them do SAILING again. I'm glad I recorded it. Great tribute!!

  • excellent job! what an amazing tribute!

  • wow Carl, im sorry i haven't viewed this post till now, thank you from the bottom of my heart, its beautiful. Lisa Dewar.

  • Absolutely magnificent version of "Sailing " . Robin & Jimmy at their best .

  • As a black musician/rocker,alot us have

always seen Mr.james Dewar in the very

same light as the other great soul singers

that we listened to for inspiration. Lisa Dewar.your father was a beautiful soul (brother).

  • excellant - really awsome!

  • Well done, Carl. A touching eulogy and celebration of his life all in one go.

  • A fabulous tribute to the man with the finest voice in rock.

Never equalled or surpassed, and no one even comes close...

  • My dad would have truley loved you as a person Carl, no doubts about it.

  • Thanks for this.....brilliant pics. Love the one with Jimmy, Frankie Miller and Billy Connolly. Also I think the shot of the band with Andy Warhol is backstage at the MSG gig in 1976. The band were really massive in the States around this time. RIP Jimmy.

  • brilliantly beautiful. we miss jimmy so, so much. this is just wonderful!

  • Nothing compares to the RTB during this period and Jimmy was the jewel of that crown. Miss him terribly. CK

  • Superb job Carl! I'll always remember the two times I got backstage after concerts and had the pleasure of talking to Robin, Jimmy, and Bill for quite a while. Something about Jimmy must have stuck because I ended up marrying a Scottish lass. ;-).

  • Brilliant job Carl, love what you have done with the pics, love the whole video, thanks for posting,Lisa Dewar...ps dead proud!
