If you understood the episode at all, you would realise that it is promoting good eating habits and exercise as a way to lose weight. Arthur isnt 'fat', he has just gained a little extra weight by the unhealthy food he is constantly snacking on (shown throughout the show). It's good that they have paid attention to this

Arthur was just the obvious choice here because people can relate to him more. I mean buster is always eating but he is made into one of those characters where they can eat and eat and eat but never gain an ouce of weight. The brain on the other hand has been shown doing his 100 or so push ups every night before sleeping. Whereas Arthur is like the average kid - eats, plays with his friends, but isn't enrolled in any particular sport, and he sits around and watches dark bunny, thus he was chosen

I don't get this... I was probably as chubby as Arthur was as a kid and now I am quite athletic... baby fat isn't anything to get worried about... kids just start losing weight as they start getting older and playing more sports. I started playing basketball at 15 and lost all the weight in a few weeks...

@Felamine I think they "singled out" Arthur because he is the most average, relatable character. Brain is the smart guy, Buster the funny guy, Binky the bully, Francine the athlete, Muffy the spoiled girl, George the kid who gets picked on, Fern the quiet girl, etc. Whereas all of the other characters have outstanding traits, Arthur's "averageness" is what makes it so easy for him to be a role model.

@Felamine I agree that Arthur is one of the slimmer characters on this show, but Brain is very active, and Binky and Buster probably wouldn't care about being overweight. Arthur's character is more sensitive, so I think that's why they chose him.
