  • my fav movie,,, love bill in it!!!!

  • "I just want to listen to music by moonlight" That line and moment always stayed with me.

  • doesn't he ever change his expression????

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • Always loved this movie. Certain movies stay with us over the years....for me, this is one of those.

  • @LoneHornToad

I agree 100% with that.. This is in my top 5 alltime favorite movies..

  • Great film. Sadly, it was a very underappreciated films. Murray was great. He was perfectly cast. It was always his favorite film and for years he was very upset that the studios never pushed it hard enough--that why its didnt do too well.

  • It's either Hal Douglas or Don LaFontaine. "The Trailer Guys"!

  • The voice over is impeccable. Who is the man narrating this trailer?

  • just like jim carrey on number 23 bill and jim tried to be dramatic but they're just too funny to do drama

  • Was the trailer a joke or is this a real movie??

  • @ChuckyJesus666 It's a real movie.

  • The theme music is totally beautiful!

  • EPIC movie. I own it on DVD would like it on Blu.

  • i don't know why, but whenever i see bill murrays face i just assume the movie is going to be a satire

  • Wow this looks good. It's hard to take Bill Murray seriously though.

  • @TheAnimationEmpire It is a good movie, and that's exactly why it didn't do well in the box office. People came out of the theaters dissapointed because it wasn't a comedy.

  • In that last shot in the clip he reminded me of Massimo Troisi in Il Postino (-another comedian who also played straight roles).

  • Bill Murray was so wrong for the part of Larry, it's almost laughable.

  • @robrose73 twat

  • @dotnotdot Hey dotnotdot, have you actually read the book where Larry is described as 'thin', 'pale' with an 'otherwordly' quality. No? That figures. The reason why is you are a fat no lifer who posts up videos of your ugly cat drinking from a plastic cup. Kill yourself and do the world a favour.

  • @robrose73

    -read the book,yes

-bill murray IS thin and pale and to some possibly'otherwordly' and suits the casting

-didnt come on here FIRST to put down those who think he did a great job and dont find it laughable which issss offensive(you).

    -far from fat myself

-likes uploading vids to send to his young neice of the cat which they obviously cant do

-your vile and painfully....painfully miss the entire point of the book..the film..an brain and human compassion

    -wanker :)

  • @robrose73 he is the one who pushed for the film and got it made .. it was kind of a, you let me do this, and i'll do ghostbusters for you to the studio

  • @robrose73 I thought Bill Murray was a great pick for this movie after watching it,,,, he did what he set out to do , make it believable

  • They should put Kramamarov to the main role

  • Does anybody know the name of the music in this trailer?

  • It is the main theme, composed by Jack Nitzche for the movie soundtrack. Not sure if you can get the track on ITunes but the CD is widely available.

  • I think if this movie was given half a chance it would've been awesome!

  • In my Historical World Literature, we read a good chunk of the book and watched this version. I have to say the movie is 100 times better than the book because it puts a little juice into a dryly told story.

  • I agree. The Tyrone Power version couldhave done it a bit more rather than simply copying the book verbatim.

  • @bluto1992 ew. the book was a thousand times better.

  • my fav

  • I wish I could see this movie again. I live in Taiwan, so no opportunity to see it. But what a great movie! The ending, when he's walking up the steps, is the best ending of any movie, ever! A true classic!

  • Una buena película, un excelente libro!!!!!!

  • I just can't get enough of Jack Nitzsche's score.

And the movie is great too... so sad...

  • One of the greatest film themes ever composed.

  • Yes, but only region 1. (I am in the UK and have a multi-region player so it works fine).

  • I just read the book. Does it follow the plot of the book? And is it as good as it?

  • It follows the book but focuses more on Larry's search. Somerset Maugham doesn't appear at all. I think this makes the film better. It is definitley worth a watch!

  • thanks. i just have to find it. hollywood videos and blockbuster doesn't have it. i just watched the black and white version and something wasn't done right. they switched some parts which changed the ending a bit and it wasn't in line of the sucess theme in the ending of the novel.

  • Amazon and Ebay are the only places that have it.

(It's even tougher to get in the UK as it only received a brief VHS release in 1985!)

  • so there is no DVD at all?

  • I think this was his only dramatic movie he has ever done....wait never mind. He was also in Hamlet 2000 and some movie with andy garcia.

  • Don't forget Lost In Translation

  • 300 years from now this will likely be the most memorable movie that Murray ever made....then comes Groundhog day. :-)

(That's is there's anyone left alive 300 years from now).

  • thanks for posting this trailer! - I would love to see more scenes - this was a wonderful movie - I thought Murray was magnificent - and the music score is very memorable, too

  • Awesome Movie *****

  • Read the book too - no one writes like Maugham.

  • Awesome movie still brings sad feelings for me, dealing with the bottle and ex girlfriends...

  • best movie i've ever seen.

  • I liked the movie inspite of its many flaws. I actually thought the tragedy of Sophie was the best part of the film.

  • I loved that too, but I still say the tribute to Piedmont (Belushi) was great when he says things like: "...Everything about him was disgusting! You ever watch him eat!?! He wont be missed!..." It was like watching this transformation of a sensitive charcter, becomming inhuman.

  • and then his own reconcilliation with himself, and redemption later on.

  • For anyone who has never seen this movie, it's a remake of a movie with Tyron Powers. This movie with bill murray is so much better. It made me rethink my life and my own struggle as to why god spared my life one time. This movie is one of the best kept secrets of hollywood. It's a shame it wasn't seen that way by the public.
