Holy Hack Job! They do sell ladder tray for situations like these!!!, Lets just leave the wire "banjo strung" between the risers......The patch cables on the front of the rack are the least of their worries
@onyxsolo Can you believe this mess? I remember installing 1A2 key and you could follow my cross-connect and all sta cables and riser cables LOL this is a joke! What happened to our craft?
The patch panel is not a switch!! LOL and who the hell wired that mess? can anyone say structured wiring LOL what a mess! In the last 10 years of my 21 plus years as a telecom tech I have seen the art of proper wiring practices go to hell in a had bag from company's paying people $10.00 an hour to professionally wire building! what a joke.
@Gunshinzero Well your right for the most part but my installs include the pricing for a professional install. Yes I have seen it all and when I was done they always ask the same question, "How come they didn't do it like you did"? LOL some people just don't understand structural wiring.
@joe0709 freakin IT managers no structural wiring experience, I tell IT managers you can't read in a book what I know about wiring. I tell the I won't program your switch and you don't wire my MDF!
Many years ago I worked for Post Office telephones for a time. OK the technology was very different but the spagetti junctions were just the same. Back then all the wiring and cables had to be routed neatly and tied in possition. ....... that mess simply would not have been acceptable.
@tpsossff It should still be unacceptable, too many people in IT with no knowledge of structured cabling. This happens too frequently, embarrassing really.
bloody hell what a mess, anyone can throw cables in, why not use to cable tray or basket, the DPs for the phones uncovered and hap hazard, the cab could do with some cable tidies on the horizontal and cable management up the sides, such an utter mess
The attenuation on that mess will negate the 'big name' hardware, whoever installed and/or maintains that needs fired.
Understandably the aesthetics are wrong but you really shouldnt be crossing over as many cables as that, keep them paralell for as much as possible. Nevertheless the performance is probably not an issue on such a small install but if them runs of cable are long then your asking for trouble.
What a mess, My home server room is more tidy than that i think your network administrators have been drinking too must coffee or they have got lost on ""THE WEST SIDE MAN" lol

@James1toknow You get what you pay for lol. Pay a monkey to wire the place then expect a jungle. You need a machete to find the rack in that place.

Umm...what you refer to as a "switch" is actually a Patch Panel. Crack a book. That Baystack is a switch and so is the Cisco.

does the NSA have access to there?

yeah.... too much extra length of cables there, just centralize all the wires on a patch panel and use shorter wires for neatness

It was nice of Comcast to pull hardline in and put a tap there. Usually they just give you a RG-11 drop and tell you to go nuts.
