piano is non "trad" indeed, as is guitar. Back in the 80's they didn't allow guitars at comhaltas ceoltoiri eireann but music grows and trad evolves. Pure trad is fine for history but I like modern "trad" that has borrowed heavily from other traditions, especially Afro Celt.

Heard irish music? I play irish music bodhran and mandoline ive played in pubs all around dublin including the cobblestones. So let me tell you something traditional irish music comes in 4 basic forms: reels, jigs, hornpipes and polkas. there are also sub groups such as slip jigs and slides. a polka is in 2/4 timing thats what i was wondering, turns out its 4/4 timing making it a reel I think its safe to say ive heard a lot more irish music than you have so F*** you and your slanty face. :)
