  • Wow... Michelle Obama @0:56

  • Oh how i boogie to this smash hit what!!]

    Thanks.

    TBG.

  • This is absolutely surrealistic. That is Mexico.

  • This made me giggle like a little girl XD

I played it for science, but I kept watching for the lulz.

  • Please wait until the next bull is available

  • Great Video ..

  • The bull has more mooooves ...

  • the dance at 1:08 makes my day every time

  • Nice !!!

  • Next time MISTER HOBBS TAKES A VACATION is on TCM pay close attention and you'll see Herb Alpert in the dance band at the country club dance.

  • 1:09

    PARTY HARD

  • NO AIR IN THE CHEEKS DEAD GIVE AWAY HMMM????

  • My wife fakes better than that.

  • That guy at 2:03 is really going for it!! haha!

  • people were so happy back then

  • lol he could try and fake it a little better

  • Where can I find this song with the lyrics?....Homer Simpson is singing them in the car on season three of the simpsons....Did Homer just make them up?

  • @brianx04 I think so.. But I am not an expert..

  • bullfighting is still fucking barbaric

  • For bullfighting critcs, please remember this is the culture of MEXICO, (and where it came from, Spain) so there is a lot to appreciate here. The meat from the bulls killed in the shows is given to the poor, and quite often, if a bull fights well, it is spared by crowd demand so it will make more great 'fighting' bulls. This bull ring is probably the lost Downtown Bull Ring in TJ, popular as a tourist stop until major league baseball came in the 1969 season.

  • For a band of a 2 Jewish guys (Alpert and marimba player Julius Wechter), 4 Italians (John Pisano on guitar, Lou Pagini on piano, Nick Ceroli on drums, and Pat Senatore on electric bass), and one American (Bob Edmonson on trombone and precussion), they had a punch, catchy, AM top 40 radio ready sound that nobody in the 60's could make, and the only other artist of the time that could come close was Carlos Santana, who also happens to be from TJ. That band was a rare treasure.

  • For the video, please remember this was shot IN TIJUANA at either the now lost Downtown Bull Ring or the still operating Bull Ring by the Sea. The sound system of that venue is VERY primitive, and the recording is music recorded on this video is NOT live, but an overdub of the album for quality reasons. He played slightly off the beat on purpose, which made his records catchy in the '60s. For his personal critics, the truth is on wikipedia

  • They play those trumpets with so much ease... my marching band's trumpets always look like they are trying to pass a kidney stone when they're playing.

  • They didn't show the very end when the guy falls of the bicycle and the bull finally gets him.

  • bad trumpet, bad audience (fake), just all around awful. I think Herb was a decent guy at one time. He's older now and not very nice and won't give a dime to anyone.

  • This video is nothing short of totally awesome.

  • It was a treat to hear this music again - I haven't heard it for nearly forty years.

  • 2:06 Fuck the rhythm.

  • Comment removed

  • lip sync on trumpet...TACKEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

  • lip synch trumpets? THUMBS DOWN!

  • How come he sucks instead of blowing? very strange............but cool video.

  • great track. Shame about the filthy primitive animal abusers in the vid.

  • @bastardfingers fighting bulls are bread and treated better than normal cattle! do you or your friends and family eat meat if so your are just as guilty of animal abuse

  • ahh the swinging 60s

  • Everyone looks so happy, having a great time South of the Border...just think...just a few hundred miles away hippies were probably burning down an ROTC building.

  • Laides & gentlemen, our first guest!

In order to prevent him from hearing the intoroductuon of our 3 ladies, we kept him offstage in a sound proof room. We would like you to meet him right now...

    Dating Game memories.

  • mi muneco me encanta esta cancion mas cuando me das todo tu amor y esta arriba de mi

  • The old "El Toreo De Tijuana"

  • MUNECO when you hear this song think about me as always love you besitos

  • I LOVE YOU ALWAYS BESITOS

  • A classic number from the Golden age.

  • i don't like bull fighting bur it dosn't even look like he's buzzing ito the trumped . Is he mimiking?

  • @excalibur1sword As a trumpet player of 30+ years, I can definitely say this is "canned music" and Herb et al are synching to it, and not even well, at that.

  • @88DocRock ....You are exactly right! I never saw what was so great about `em.They have a plastic, polished sound. My parents thought they were cool many years ago. They entertained quite a bit, and always played this music.Amazing that a so so musician like Alpert made a fortune with this "sound" while the Mexican groups-who were real -were never able to make it in America.

  • The song seems so carefree and whimsical, but the bull fighting theme is ridiculous. Bullfighting is barbaric!

  • This is my ringtone

  • 1:27 He's not blowing the trumpet, MIMER!!

  • THEAUMES!

  • The music here was in the Dating Game TV show!!!

  • Love the comment waynesworld wmaniac. I'm sure the animal rights activists would have a nasty comment or two as to the bull fight but it looks like the Bull is getting the better end of the deal LOL!

  • I hope they took that bull to the slaughter house and made some yummy McDonald's hamburgers! Some of us don't like tofu!

  • This song is totally ragtime! Think "The entertainer".

  • it was a little spanish flea, how knew how to make bombs, and plant them near parks.....a little spanish flea

  • That was cool

  • No one thinks of the "Bull".

  • SSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SOSOSOSSOSOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

  • Love this song but Bullfighting is horrific and should be banned worldwide! Anyone who enjoys this for entertainment needs their head examined!

  • i like this song

  • thats the match games theme!

  • @sirmenonot Uhhhmm...you mean "The Dating Game."

  • life and music was simple and purer back then

  • I read where none of the actual band was spanish! He used to joke that they were Italians! His inspiration came from the bull fights and the brass he heard there.

  • this man had an affair with mexico i think so

  • i dont think so ether

  • Lmao. Perfect music to play while someone gets trampled whilst trying to stab a bull. The crowd is the real entertainment. Especially "Carlton" in the yellow jacket

  • @rajajonconcon i was born and raised in tijuana,so i know for a fact that that´s the bull ring that got demolished, the other one is on the beach side, ass hole.

  • @jesamani75 So true! God bless TIJUANA, the city that bonds together both Mexico and the USA , and this song and at that era specially are a perfect example!

  • @alexyomero76 thanks man god bless you too.

  • @alexyomero76 LIKE THE NAME, lol

  • BELEZA PURA!

    Quanta saudade! Bjs

  • For some reason the base is really good on this version. Each instrument's sound seems to be really defined. I wonder why? Ah well! It sounds great!

  • so cute!!

  • god bless it the spanish know how to have a good time

  • @angryslug1 it was in tijuana mexico so theyre mexican not spanish.

  • @jesamani75 well god bless both than!

  • They're not even playing! Check out the lips and cheeks.

  • This song was always used in cheesy game shows of the 70s, can you feel my beautiful mustache baby ?

  • @PupuTheBrown This guy wrote some o.k. songs but his abilities as a player and arranger were a bit lacking. Check out my band's new video for "Tijuana Taxi" if you want to hear one of his songs done correctly.

  • PLAYBACK!

  • IT's the Hey Song in Spain!!! OMFG

  • Great video!

  • @Commonsensitivity You only say that because you haven't heard my band play a Herb Albert song yet. Check out our new video "Tijuana Taxi" to see how it should have been done. We updated and improved the sound.

  • omg so non sequitor

  • Fire up the Quattro Bolly Knickers. I'm in a driving mood after listening to this.

  • @308lee Ah, Ashes to Ashes. Gene's favourite band

  • @czajka18 Heh heh! It's a great series, isn't it? One that'll be remembered I think. I loved the Uptown Girl sequence and also the bit where Hunt bursts into the dating agency office when Drake is in there. Ten points to you if you can remember what Hunt said Herb Alpert reminds single women of? :-)

  • @308lee sun and sea and getting poked behind an electricity substation in Torremolinos? And I always remember the Uptown Girl sequence

  • @czajka18 well done mate. Dix point. :-)

  • Remember when mainstream talent was good? Ah' tijuose were the days. And yes, he IS playing that trumpet. First of all the video sync is off, and secondly look at any film of him playing and you can see that he plays very relaxed and often it looks like he is removing his lips, but is actually just part of how he uses control. If by chance these guys are not really playing it's not because they can't ( unlike most of the idiots these days), it's probably because that stadium wasn't equipped.

  • my sister martha took us me my brother my buddy rafa and the villarreal girls went too, i was 10, still remember the sounds, now i just go to see bullfights, but that bullring is not there no more.

  • Back then in the sixties and seventies, Tijuana used to be a nice place to go and have some fun for both Mexicans and Americans. Now the US and Mexican armies have turned that city a bloodbath. The drug cartels? Forget about them! They're just proxies and do the dirty job!

  • Frightfully good fun!

  • I love this song, even though its as old as I am, I still grew up listening to it. But hey, this video is "Proof" that they Lip Sync'd back then. They are not really playing this :) . Any Brass instrument player will notice, he is not really blowing that horn. Its funny, watch at about 13 seconds... no pressure on the face of either of the dudes playing trumpet. Its all good anyway.

  • takes you back don't it. fantastic ,

    Thanks.

  • 1:50

    god bless us

  • loved this video,,,thanks for posting it,

  • My brother Juan de Dios, Jose Melendez and his wife Bertha attended the show in ¨el Toreo de Tijuana¨ back in 1965... My brother Jose was General, and at that time was Comander in Chief of the Military Forces in Baja California, Mexico.

  • This was filmed at the famous Downtown Tijuana Bullring located in the road to Caliente! It was torn down in 2007! The Tijuana Brass made several videos in Tijuana, Caliente Racetrack & Avenida Revolucion in the 60's and 70's! They loved Tijuana!

  • is that guy on the bicycle seriously taunting the bull?

man, I would've killed to have been there.

  • why didn't the bull ram the stage

  • did anyone else see the drum n bass x step dancers at 1:09 ?

  • is it me or does it look like herb is faking? in the this vid?

  • everybody's faking...except for the bull...and maybe the "maraca guy". I doubt anyone really hears him above the track though, there aren't any live mics. That would require attaching cables. ; )

  • ohhh whata little spanish fleaaaaa... singing homers version =)

  • I love Homer Simpson's Rendition of this

  • @jayjay4000 Lol, seems like most people do. I guess I'm in the minority there; I think I'd rather spend that 10 seconds slamming my fingers in a car door instead. Surprised Herb didn't sue over it.

  • ole!!

  • dude the random dancers look like they were jerking ahahha

  • I thought only Britney Spears did that. That was embarrassing.

  • my favourite song of all time

  • That is the Downtown bullring in Tijuana Mexico! Im sure abou this!

  • miming.... they not playing live... good tune though x

  • Well it can't be new forever.

  • Wow I didnt expect some Drum n Bass step dancers to appear on 1:09. For sure "theres nothing new under the sun"...hahaha
