I really don't think this is a cottonmouth. Cottonmouths have a wide, diamond shaped head. Also, when a cottonmouth feels threatened, they will coil up and give a serious threat display and will open there mouth to show their fangs. Cottonmouths are also usually pretty aggressive, especially when provoked. This snake shows none of this.

Definitely NOT a Cottonmouth...I can't figure out what it IS though either. Weird. It's body fits for being a water snake but that's some very odd coloration if it is. The poster of this video is obviously a bit kooky...so is the snake that showed up on her doorstep. Haha

@hrmagoo in australia we find lots of snakes at the doors in summer, trying to regulate body temp with the aircon blowing through the gaps in the door. were talking 40+ degrees celcius though

Neither am I, and I know it's not! Cotton mouths are brown, I lived in Florida and the lake in our back yard had em, and there was a 6ft bush rattler that lived next to our house in our dead rose bush.

The snake turned out to be an Eastern Cottonmouth! It didn't want to hurt anyone at the time, but if bitten...deadly. Esp. considering we're 40 min. from help~Thanks for your comment:)
