  • How could you not like the Hip? You would have to have serious mental problems.

  • fuck I ran outta smoke's I wish I was locked in the trunk of a car

  • Wait a minute. Vevo didn't censor this, there is still hope in the world!

  • Whoever said Canada was dull? I think they got locked in the trunk of a car...

  • On open letter to the 3 individuals who disliked this song: I'm coming for you

  • Tell Them Jim The Old Taxi Driver sad hi I'm an old friend

  • One thing I am locked in is my obsession for this band. HIP FOREVER!

  • I know the lyrics to almost every song. this band is the best. it because of guys like these i can be proud of canada!!! Keep on rockin

  • aw man, I miss the old school grain elevators. We don't have them out here in SK anymore. :(

  • I'm so shocked that this only has 180 000 views.

My 3 favourite bands are The Tragically Hip, The Offspring and Red Hot Chili Peppers in no real order. This my favourite song by them, next to Courage. I'm the only one of my friends who still listens to this kind of music, not that auto tune shit.

We NEED the 80's and 90's back.

  • 3 people are locked in the trunk of a car.

  • @AcBxGoD

Definitely agree. The best Hip song ever...

  • is that a 67 gtx/

  • this is my favorite of their songs, i could literally listen to it on replay for hours.

  • @residentsushi There is no time for literally. There is a comet headed our way, son!

  • I live in Arkansas, the complete opposite of Canada. Hot, ignorance, inbreeding. But I love the Tragically Hip and have for years. At least one person in the South thinks they are the greatest, most intelligent band out there.

  • @kenbobwrites lol Arkansas isn't very much different then Alberta. Canada is a BIG country. Maybe a little bit warmer there but we still drink Budweiser and ride horses.

  • @kenbobwrites hey we got a buncha rednecks up here too... but with good music taste xD

  • thumbs down for VEVO the retards .

  • Happy 19th Birthday Fully Completely!

  • rainylakeable ur righht about that but canada is up here u dumby not down here we r more north than the states so smarten up and canada it the greatest hense THE HIP FUCK U HATERS

  • @Broadfoot716 Your statement is void due to the unintelligent nature of you english cursive skills.

  • I'm so glad I live right across the lake from London, ON ~ able to pick up FM 96... I can either put on my Hip CDs or turn on the radio, but be sure this is one American gal that has been a fan since 88/89. (Can't remember clearly, I was in art school and probably drunk...)

  • If i woke up in the trunk of a car i would probably light up a smoke first thing too

  • 2 people were locked in the trunk of a car

  • @KingGoose24 LOL thats too funny hhaha

  • Two dislikes from people too stupid to get the Hip. Sad, pathetic morons...

  • Why the hell do Americans find reason to dislike this? Is it because its a Canadian band, because here in Canada we love American bands to. Canadians and Americans aren't in competition, and there is absolutely no reason to be rude or defensive to each other.

  • Great music to listen to when you drive cross country.

  • These guys make me truly proud to be Canadian! like it if you agree

  • @libertyreptileZ This song reminds me I have to clean my trunk of fearful shit bombs from my last victim, the guy who didn't give you a thumbs up. What a gay term "give me a Like if you Agree".

  • @libertyreptileZ What I've realised this past few months is that a ridiculously large percentage of things I adore are Canadian in origin. You should all be very proud - you seem to a wonderful country full of creativity and intelligence (and that's in spite of your proximity to the USA!) .

  • @theghostofchristmasp dude im totally pickin up what yer puttin down, im from cape breton island , nova scotia, and nuttin better then in the outside makin noise in the woods wit guitats n cold brews WHEW HOO tragic hip juices it up

  • As a Canuck I gotta just say to my American friends, we love it when you love our exports. There's no need to be competitive about culture - otherwise we'd all be French! (HA! We can all agree on disliking the French!) Anyway.I saw them in 1991 for Frosh Week at University of Western Ontario w/ Barenaked Ladies opening. For Free. Great show. There is something about their music that says 'drive to the cottage, crack a 50 and light the fire'. It's musical Group of Seven. Cheers all.

  • I saw them in Carlisle Ontario late 80's with the Northern Pikes!! Awesome band, awesome concert! "38 Years Old" brings back many many happy summertime memories ;)

  • @liverlisa Hey I live in Carlisle, did you grow up there

  • @MipoFilms I grew up in Hamilton..... small world! I still remember that concert, it was awesome!!! Cheers !! :)

  • @liverlisa that's hilarious, I grew up in Burlington and moving into Hamilton end of month

  • @MipoFilms I lived in Burlington when we were young and than moved to Hamilton!!! Too funny!

  • @liverlisa that's freaking hilarious! I'm going to Mohawk collage in September, what's there to do in Hamilton.

  • @MipoFilms Hess Village is still an awesome place.... lots of cool pubs and bars.... Some areas are bad but not all, but it will always be home to me! Small world we live in!!

  • @liverlisa Yeah no kidding, it gets smaller every year.

  • hip belongs to canada

  • 2 people are apparently Pierre Laporte.

  • the hip rockes shaw them at shaw park

  • 3 hours till showtime here YES

  • What has nationality got to do with it.. music is universal, and when i light up and listen to the Hip, i'm from everywhere... Vive le Hip !!

  • sittin, alittle drunk round 1 in the morning and thinking to myself, 'This is the coolest, badass song that is both kinda weird but mellow and fucking so cool.'

Love the hip my friend, love em

  • Speaking of Oz....Was a fan of Angus's brother in Flash and the Pan....

  • It is appropriate that this is the theme song from The Industry and you have to watch the most annoying ad ever just to watch the video.

  • The hip are the greatest Canadian band EVER!!!! Hip FTW!!!

  • THESE FUCKING ADVERTISEMENTS ARE KILLING!!!!! MY BUZZ trying to rock a good loud TTH playlist and keep gettin loud ass advertisements that are way louder than the song. FUCK OFF YOUTUBE STOP SELLING OUT

  • @iPROxSN1P3x I was kidding :|

  • @JBhab30 38 years old is the name of the song lol, and im a huge rap fan too but love tragically hip because i grew up listening to it because my father, i just purchased a ticket for Their July 15 show here out in Vancouver cant wait to see the Tragically Hip live :)

  • how the FUCK does this only have 127k views.......wtf is wrong with the world

  • Awesome band. One thing I love about them is hpw they never released one of their best and most poignant songs-Montreal- as they didn't feel right exploiting people's grief. No such scruples for a certain self-sanctified Irish band...

  • @mattsmontreux But the hip are Canadian.....

  • i like the hip i just hate canadians

  • @mattsmontreux we don't like you either!!!

  • I love this song because of the shifting perspective. In the beginning he is the place where the bodies are being dumped. Which is surprisingly very old by them finding Conquestitor armor in its "belly". He then turns into the person dumping the bodies. Making comments on the journey to the place where they dump the bodies. Finally he is one of the bodies about to be dumped.... Locked in the Trunk of a Car.

  • The hip at Sarnia bayfest...cant Wait!!

  • Thanks youtube. The Tragically Hip new discovery in Poland. Hip ruled in my truck.

  • I love how Gord has a hole in his shirt and the collar is all worn out!

  • Grew up in Atlanta, went to college in South Carolina, heard "Fully Completely" in 1993 from my roommate. Absolutely incredible album. Favorite track on the CD.

  • you need this album for every and all camping trips! period!

  • haha gord looks like hes mentaly challanged or something in this vid lol, prob just coked out

  • Kingston, Ontario, Canada Kicks ass!

  • enough about people from the United States not enjoying the great music of the Hip. I for one have been a HUGE fan of the Hip since 1988. And we are NOT nobodys down hear.I beleive they ARE the best band in the world and many of my friends here in the STATES agree

  • @rainylakeable About time the Hip got some love down south. Rock on friends.

  • @rainylakeable I totally agree. I wish I got into them earlier, but I'm seeing them twice this summer. Can't wait.

  • @rainylakeable That's pretty sweet, the Hip doesn't get much play outside of Canada: because they haven't quite broken through in the States is kinda sad IMO. The Gin Blossoms said they were the best band they had ever seen live... I quite agree with them.

  • @kmikl Are you kidding me?? They used to be pretty big here in the US. It just petered off after Fully Completely.

They are perfect for certain regions of the country that like roadhouse/bluesy music (I'm in Texas).

  • @bfalch Not really kidding... I got hooked with Road Apples, and their tours (at least the ones that were advertised on Tales from the Hip fanclub) had a few stops in the US, but most of them were mid-west/north east for the most part as I remember.

I didn't know they had much in the way of a following south of the Mason-Dixon line, though. I learned something new today!

  • @rainylakeable haha

  • @rainylakeable The Replacements are my fav band but they were near Defunct, Canada. Neil Young is the greatest singer songwriter. Nobody is putting down Canada or it's a small minority.

  • the hip, hockey, and fishing. What else do Canadians need?

  • @GoAvalanche83 dont forget beer

  • @GoAvalanche83 and Timmies!

  • The Tragically Hip, who are an Canadian Band of Biblical proportion, I am sad to say, are virtually unheard of in the united states...With the exception of some college radio play, and buzz amongst those of us, who are ourselves, "Tragically Hip", they do not exist in the land of Spoiled Milk, and Sour Honey... Which, poetically illustrates the brilliance of the bands moniker. They are "too hip for the room", and as Jesse says: "They do not play like anybody else." A truly original band. Much<3

  • Mr7777Slim the song is about Clifford Olsen a canadian serial killer

  • if this song doesn't pump you up, then yer likely dead. gord and the boys are the greatest band in the greatest country. rock on canada!

  • They are very satanic.

He is honoring his flesh(better for us if you dont understand, better for me if you dont understand.Come on think about it.

If I am not mistaken...he mentions about possibly being possessed...hmmm

  • It's better for us and better for me if you all don't understand...

  • ONE OF THE BEST SONG'S EVER!

  • Illinois loves The Hip!!

  • @TylerFisk1 Hey Ty its Anthony haha

  • whoever disliked this is clearly stupid.

  • @rmpolaris is clearly intelligent and reconizes real music, damn this crap is noise pollution. get some voice lessons and write some deeper lyrics that rhyme

  • Canadian legends

  • how can you dump the body everyday?does he dump the same body every day?Or a different body?Is this a metaphor of some type?I have questions.I need answers.

  • @peter48819 it would be better for me if you dont understand

  • @peter48819 it's better for me if you don't understand

  • @peter48819 he relives the same experience every day he is dumping the body, maybe it is better if you dont understand.....

  • why do i get the feeling that smoking in the trunk of a car is a bad idea?

  • Great song. I have to crank it every time I listen to it. These guys really know how to rock.

  • It's amazing how creative Gord can be with just three words: "Let me out".

  • @sonitusdeus Thts LEMMMMMEOUTTTT!! to you... :P

  • Gordon Downie is a true master just a little fucked up. mind you not many sain rock stars. just look at ozzy.

  • Yeah fuck vevo and all the free music they make us listen to

  • FUCK VEVO.....but fuck yea to the HIP!!

  • @420jhood ..they didnt censor 'fucked up after "I became chronologically'... :)

Off to hear Baker's haunting riffs....enjoy..By the way FUCK VEVO

  • @frocketman seems to me like your locked in the trunk of s car...

  • @ChocoNillySkateKingz

Yeah, I was having a bad day, there was no need for my remarks....I had to pull my head out....

  • @frocketman at least your feeling better man :)

  • Its about Pierre Laporte being kidnapped by the FLQ (his body was found in the trunk of a car). See Gord Downie's interview on CBC's Q TV.

  • Great Canadian spirit song... Gord's words are allways magic.

  • from Fully Completely. Phenomenal album!

  • what album is this off of? road apples?

  • I have a 66 Chrysler 300 (2 door though) My girl locked my keys in the trunk at the beach this past summer !! Had to take a cab home to get the spare keys !!! I felt like locking her in the trunk ect....but then I looked at her in her tiny bikini...WOW !!! No way !! I will lock the dolt who keyed the side of my car ..if I ever find them !!!
