My 3 favourite bands are The Tragically Hip, The Offspring and Red Hot Chili Peppers in no real order. This my favourite song by them, next to Courage. I'm the only one of my friends who still listens to this kind of music, not that auto tune shit.
I live in Arkansas, the complete opposite of Canada. Hot, ignorance, inbreeding. But I love the Tragically Hip and have for years. At least one person in the South thinks they are the greatest, most intelligent band out there.
@kenbobwrites lol Arkansas isn't very much different then Alberta. Canada is a BIG country. Maybe a little bit warmer there but we still drink Budweiser and ride horses.
rainylakeable ur righht about that but canada is up here u dumby not down here we r more north than the states so smarten up and canada it the greatest hense THE HIP FUCK U HATERS
I'm so glad I live right across the lake from London, ON ~ able to pick up FM 96... I can either put on my Hip CDs or turn on the radio, but be sure this is one American gal that has been a fan since 88/89. (Can't remember clearly, I was in art school and probably drunk...)
Why the hell do Americans find reason to dislike this? Is it because its a Canadian band, because here in Canada we love American bands to. Canadians and Americans aren't in competition, and there is absolutely no reason to be rude or defensive to each other.
@libertyreptileZ This song reminds me I have to clean my trunk of fearful shit bombs from my last victim, the guy who didn't give you a thumbs up. What a gay term "give me a Like if you Agree".
@libertyreptileZ What I've realised this past few months is that a ridiculously large percentage of things I adore are Canadian in origin. You should all be very proud - you seem to a wonderful country full of creativity and intelligence (and that's in spite of your proximity to the USA!) .
@theghostofchristmasp dude im totally pickin up what yer puttin down, im from cape breton island , nova scotia, and nuttin better then in the outside makin noise in the woods wit guitats n cold brews WHEW HOO tragic hip juices it up
As a Canuck I gotta just say to my American friends, we love it when you love our exports. There's no need to be competitive about culture - otherwise we'd all be French! (HA! We can all agree on disliking the French!) Anyway.I saw them in 1991 for Frosh Week at University of Western Ontario w/ Barenaked Ladies opening. For Free. Great show. There is something about their music that says 'drive to the cottage, crack a 50 and light the fire'. It's musical Group of Seven. Cheers all.
I saw them in Carlisle Ontario late 80's with the Northern Pikes!! Awesome band, awesome concert! "38 Years Old" brings back many many happy summertime memories ;)
@MipoFilms Hess Village is still an awesome place.... lots of cool pubs and bars.... Some areas are bad but not all, but it will always be home to me! Small world we live in!!
@ohdear1964 Whats with Aussies and Canadian bands? The Trews are also pretty endeared by some down there as well, from what I've heard from my friends.
Im in the heart of TX right now jamin to some hip! Im upset that there in my home town right now plaing to all my friends and family but i guess YouTube will work for now till i get back home!

Awesome band. One thing I love about them is hpw they never released one of their best and most poignant songs-Montreal- as they didn't feel right exploiting people's grief. No such scruples for a certain self-sanctified Irish band...
I love this song because of the shifting perspective. In the beginning he is the place where the bodies are being dumped. Which is surprisingly very old by them finding Conquestitor armor in its "belly". He then turns into the person dumping the bodies. Making comments on the journey to the place where they dump the bodies. Finally he is one of the bodies about to be dumped.... Locked in the Trunk of a Car.
Grew up in Atlanta, went to college in South Carolina, heard "Fully Completely" in 1993 from my roommate. Absolutely incredible album. Favorite track on the CD.

I didn't know they had much in the way of a following south of the Mason-Dixon line, though. I learned something new today!
@rainylakeable The Replacements are my fav band but they were near Defunct, Canada. Neil Young is the greatest singer songwriter. Nobody is putting down Canada or it's a small minority.
The Tragically Hip, who are an Canadian Band of Biblical proportion, I am sad to say, are virtually unheard of in the united states...With the exception of some college radio play, and buzz amongst those of us, who are ourselves, "Tragically Hip", they do not exist in the land of Spoiled Milk, and Sour Honey... Which, poetically illustrates the brilliance of the bands moniker. They are 'too hip for the room', and as Jesse says: "They do not play like anybody else." A truly original band. Much<3

I have a 66 Chrysler 300 (2 door though) My girl locked my keys in the trunk at the beach this past summer !! Had to take a cab home to get the spare keys !!! I felt like locking her in the trunk ect....but then I looked at her in her tiny bikini...WOW !!! No way !! I will lock the dolt who keyed the side of my car ..if I ever find them !!!
You people seem so low-key, under the radar...without all the foolish entanglements we Americans seem to endure!
