the pugachevs cobra is made when the aoa blocker is disable making high g manuvres the pugachevs cobra have a lot military vaule:can dodge missiles like aim 9 sidewinder and to push of course a pursuing aircraft

the only diference betwenn the mig 29 a and s is that the s have a onboard jammer and new avionics and people don t compare russian materiel on the iraqui and vietnames wars because they were monkey model s to export ex:a t72 of russia have 500mn armor and better anmo than a iraqui t 72 export with 200 mn armor the iraqui migs were much less capable than the russian migs and i hve a question how make this manouvre on the flaming cliffs 2 ?

Pilot would never actually do that maneuver at that altitude but that's why this is a simulator.

Pugachev is supposed to make it so that an aircraft can keep same altitude and flight plan, destroy target, and keep going nearly disrupted.

It would be hard to lock onto the target after the maneuver if it's under you.

well, if you think about it, in order for the airplane to gain the angle of attack it needs to get it first for a bit acts like a huge flap and that will atleast result in some altitude gain. I'm not sure if LO got anywhere near the correct ammount but yeah, atleast some...

the climb is not part of the maneuver it is so to say my fault. If you watch real cobras you can see that altitude is more or less the same before and after it.

If it's hard to get mig-29s to do it right in sims, there's a good reason: they need an initial 30 degree AOA to do it in real life. Sukhois are much better at cobras.

dude this is not very easy also though you have got powerful engines but u need to noe how to control them also....you have to be very accurate otherwise this will result in stalling n hence cos of this plane mite crash

Il-2 sucks u know those vids when a p-51 pilot pulles the stick at 45 deg to the right or left and it go up and then upside down. Try doing that in il2 plane tip stall way to easy Lomac is better but it hard to install on vista

yes I totally agree with you, but i have to say that in Lock on a cobra does not depend on your skills, you just press the button "perform cobra" and than you just pull up and the plane performs such a "more or less cobra."

i had the first lock on and the controls were fine i mean when i pull the stick the plane turns and stops, but when i brought lock on gold when i fly the first cd of lomac, when i pull the stick, the plane keeps turning till i stop it by pull the opposite direction, do u have the same problem?

no unfourtunately I can't help you, because such a problem never occured on my system. By still I had some problems with the axes of my joystick and a recommend you to check out the calibration of the axes in lock on menu. Maybe there ist sth wrong with the automatic calobration.

1. Speed has to be between 300-500

2. Press "k" and pull up immediately

3. If you are on a Mig-29 /Su-27/33 the plane will perform a perfect cobra afterwards and your speed will reduce to ~250 km/h

Летишь прямо, зажимаешь "k", отклоняешь назад ручку до упора ("k" не отпускай), как тебя в крайнее положение по вертикали приведет, самолет сам обратно пойдет, дальше просто возвращаешься в исходное положение. Все, вроде.

i don't play flamming cliffs, this is still original Lomac (1.02) There you have the Mig-29S in the list of aircrafts when you crate a mission.

That's simple.

You have to press "K" while flying with a speed between 300kph and 500kph. After pressing "k" you have to pull the joystick to you (maximal position) and the plane (only Mig-29, Su-27,33) will perform a perfect cobra!

By the way, on one part I manage to do the cobra successfully a few times in an Su-33 and that I even manage to get behind an F-16 that was tailing me by doing the cobra. But which part of the cockpit tells me that my "K" switch is on or off??

that you can't see, but the funktion of the "K" switch is only active to perform ONE cobra! after having performed a cobra, the funktion is switched off automatically, to perform a new cobra, you have to press "k" again.

nothing, only the mig29. su27 and su33 can do it in the game. About the skills for this maneuver, I don't think it's hard to initiate, but the recovery is difficult.

the pilot has to release the alpha limiter in order to pull off the maneuver. K acts as releasing the alpha limiter.
